Abstract

Several variations and changes can occur during bread processing and storage that affect the quality and safety characteristics and acceptability of the bread. The study aimed to assess the microbiological quality of bread and the hygienic conditions of local bakeries in Aliero, Kebbi State. A total of 16 bread samples were obtained (3 from each bakery). Data on socio-demographics and sanitary conditions were collected through interviews and an observation checklist. Standard microbiological methods were used to enumerate, isolate and identify bacteria and fungi. The result of sanitary conditions shows that four bakeries (66%) use boreholes as a source of water supply, two (33%) use well and none of them use pipe borne. In addition, zero (0%) use a flush system of latrine, 66% have a pit latrine while 33% have no latrine facility. All (100%) have stored refuse also and adequately use open surfaces/ditch as a waste disposal method. The result of the study indicated the mean bacterial count (CFU/g) range is 7.4×105- 14.4x105, while the mean fungal count (CFU/g) range is 9.0×103- 1.1×103. Isolated bacteria include Escherichia coli (29.4%), Pseudomonas spp. (14.7%), Proteus spp. (20.6%), and Bacillus spp. (35.3%). Penicillium spp. (44%), Aspergillus spp. (8%), Rhizopus spp. (28%), Fusarium spp. (20%) were the fungi isolated and identified. Abstract

Mobile phones (HP) or smartphones are the most popular communication tools used by the public. Based on interviews with several mobile phone users and technicians, the iPhone is currently one of the best-selling and most prestigious brands. But in reality, the iPhone user community, in general, does not understand the damage that often occurs to HP. This leads users to bring the damaged HP to the service point without knowing in advance what kind of damage occurred to the HP. The study aims to build an app to diagnose damage to web-based iPhone phones. In collecting the data needed for the study, the authors used methods of literature study, interviews, and observation. This web-based iPhone mobile damage diagnostic system application is made using the PHP programming language. The game development stage includes analysis, system design, implementation, and testing. The expert system application to diagnose damage to the web-based iPhone phone that is made can be used to find out the damage to the iPhone phone, before being taken to the service so that users know what damage is repaired. The results of system testing showed that this application is feasible and can be used as a web-based iPhone mobile damage diagnostic system application.

Abstract

Dirty water can endanger the health and mental safety of humans, which can lead to outbreaks of cholera, ringworm, scabies, diarrhea/dysentery, and typhoid which are some of the diseases that arise from dirty water which are still consumed without further processing. To deal with dirty water, researchers have a solution with a water filtering system using a water purification system with an Arduino- based Pid sensor control, where the water will be filtered in the water treatment then the water will be detected by the LDR sensor is still cloudy or clean, if the water is still cloudy, Arduino will send the command to relay to turn on the water pump so that the water will flow back to the water treatment. if the water is clean, the water will be put into the container that has been provided. Then the results from the water will be displayed in the application that was made using the Inventor app. Verify the results of system testing that the application is running very well when displaying the results of the system being created.

Abstract

In this modern era, automatic equipment dominates human life because it can ease the burden of human work. A variety of practical and flexible electronic devices have been created to help people more easily meet their needs. This research designed an automated water tank monitoring system using microcontrollers and utilizing the internet and websites as visualization of monitoring data. This smart water tank consists of pH sensors, turbidity sensors, and TDS sensors. In addition, there is a water level to detect the water level in the reservoir, a solenoid valve as an automatic faucet, and water flow to calculate the discharge of water that fills the reservoir. When tds sensors and turbidity sensors detect water in a bad state it will automatically drain the Tandon. After the water drain is drained, the water level will be detected and then the water pump will automatically turn on. The purpose of this smart water tank is to make it easier for users to monitor the water tank in real time and accurately. The results of the test were carried out that every time the water detects turbidity levels above 25 NTu and Tds above 1000 mg / l then the water will be automatically wasted even though the reservoir is in full condition. The test results also proved the system is able to work by sending water data and displaying it on the web www.tandonair.online.

Abstract

Fire is an event that is not desired by every human being. Fires can cause significant losses, both material and life losses. Every fire process always causes a fire in a place or room where a fire occurs. A fire that is still not too big can be detected using a robot. Detection of the source of the fire in the kitchen room is still difficult because it is not yet known by the occupants of the house who are in another room or outside the house. Residents of the house have difficulty finding hotspots that are still small, so a robot is needed that can detect the presence of these hotspots. One of the robots that can be applied in this situation is the spider robot. This study aims to implement fire sensor technology to detect fire using Arduino. Methods of data collection using literature study and observation. The application development phase includes analysis, system design, implementation, and testing. This program is implemented using ultrasonic sensors, wi-fi modules, servos, and fire sensors. Ultrasonic sensors as a protection system from robots and IR flame sensors as sensors to detect fire. The spider robot can detect fire and provide warnings through sound alarms and can provide notifications via messages in the WhatsApp application. The fire detection robot made can detect a fire by notifying WhatsApp messages and alarms when the robot detects fire. The test results show the tool can run well. This can be proven by the value of the test results that have been carried out

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to design and build a web-based decision support system application to determine prospective scholarship recipients at MAN 2 Yogyakarta and test its reliability. The Decision Support System is a problem solving system with supporting tools. This system can solve problems using algorithm methods. One of the decision support system methods that can be applied to scholarship cases at MAN 2 Yogyakarta is the Simple Multi-Attribute Rating Technique Exploiting Ranks (SMARTER) method and forward chaining. The SMARTER method is a decision support method by determining the criteria and sub-criteria and their weight using the ROC (Rank Order Centroid). Meanwhile, the forward chaining method is a search method or a forward tracking technique that starts with existing information and combines rules to produce a conclusion or goal. The advantages of the DSS that have been developed are as follows. (1) The DSS built can be used by the scholarship selection team to recommend students who have the potential to get scholarships more quickly and objectively (2) The DSS for prospective scholarship recipients that was developed uses two methods of calculation, namely the Simple Multi-Attribute Rating Technique Exploiting Ranks (SMARTER) and Forward Chaining methods, so that the prediction results are better and faster. The SMART method emphasizes more detailed criteria and the Forward Chaining Method allows for a faster selection process.

Abstract

Abstract Milk is an excellent source of both major and minor components needed to meet the nutritional requirements of the human body. The current study was conducted to evaluate the bacteriological and physicochemical quality of cow milk collected from various locations in Birnin Kebbi. A total of twenty-four (24) milk samples (six from each location) were purchased. All samples were subjected to bacteriological analysis using total plate count, and physicochemical composition analysis, which included PH, moisture content, fat content, protein content, and mineral determination (calcium, sodium, and potassium). The mean range for Total Plate Count is 1.83x106-3.42x106 CFU/ML. Furthermore, bacteria isolated and identified from milk samples include Streptococcus spp, Shigella spp, Escherichia coli, Bacillus spp, Staphylococcus aureus, and Proteus spp. The physicochemical analysis results indicated that the mean range is PH (4.87±0.04-5.52±0.05) Moisture content (82.22±0.60-87.50±2.16), Fat content (0.56±0.02-1.84±0.01), Protein content (11.27±4.4-12.55±4.99), Calcium (173.83±4.43-475.67±22.24), Sodium (11.83±4.26- 111±12.44) and Potassium (131±9.12-596±6.16) respectively. The study's findings highlight the poor bacteriological quality of milk, as evidenced by a higher Total Plate Count. Moreover, the presence of pathogenic microbes in milk, such as Bacillus spp, Shigella spp, and Escherichia coli, is likely to pose a serious public health risk. As a result, it is recommended that proper hygiene practices be implemented, as well as the incorporation of effective monitoring throughout the production to delivery chain.
