Journal of Research in Educational Management invites scholars, researchers, and students to contribute the result of their studies and research in the areas related to Educational Management, which covers textual and fieldwork investigation with special reference to Leadership, Culture, and Organizational Behaviour, Human Resources Management, Innovation in Education, and Education Policy as well as the examination of contemporary issues in Educational Management. The articles of this journal are published every six months (2 issues per year). All articles will be reviewed by experts before being accepted for publication. Abstract

The purpose of this research was to describe the form of the two way symetrical communication model used by MA Subulus Salam in forming take and give relationships with the community. This research was conducted with a qualitative approach with a descriptive type. The data collection technique used was interviews with the Bureau of Education, Bureau of Islamic Boarding Schools, regional heads of West and East Islamic boarding schools, as well as documentation. Data analysis was carried out through three steps, namely: (1) data condensation; (2) data exposure; and (3) drawing conclusions and verification. Data validity with source and technique triangulation process. The two way symmetrical model that has been carried out by MA Subulus Salam includes several communication activities consisting of disseminating information among student parents, activating persuasive forms of business both directly and indirectly with the community, and analyzing every opinion of the school community and the madrasah community analytically and solutive. From this research reveals that through this communication technique to persuade (persuasive communication) to build mutual understanding, support and benefits from both parties. This model can also try to find a win-win solution in solving a problem.

Abstract

Professionalism of teachers is often associated with several important factors, namely teacher competence, teacher certification, and teacher professional allowances. These three factors are believed to be closely related to the advancement or decline of the quality of education in Indonesia. Therefore, the issue of teacher's professional competence needs to receive special attention or serious consideration from the school principal as the teacher's mentor. This research was conducted at madrassa based on pesantren with the aim of analyzing the implementation of academic supervision by the school principal in enhancing teacher's professional competence. The research focuses on implementation of Academic Supervision by the school principal in enhancing teacher's professional competence. This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data collection techniques include interviews, observations, and documentation. The research subjects are the school principal, vice principal, and teachers. Data analysis involves data reduction, data presentation/display, and drawing conclusions. Data validity is ensured through data triangulation. The research findings show that the implementation of Academic Supervision by the school principal in enhancing teacher's professional competence at madrassa based on pesantren includes individual techniques (observation, classroom visits, individual meetings, direct and indirect approaches) and group techniques (routine meetings, group discussions, and demonstrations, workshops).

Abstract

This qualitative research study delves into the realm of human resource management strategies aimed at elevating the motivation levels of quality employees within educational institutions. The research centers on the practices employed by the principal, as they endeavor to enhance the overall quality of human resources within the institution. Quality, in this context, encompasses a dynamic state that pertains to products, individuals, processes, tasks, and the environment, meeting or surpassing the expectations of customers and consumers. The findings underline the pivotal role of human resource management in fostering quality employees, with motivation emerging as a fundamental catalyst. Motivation is revealed as the driving force behind the cultivation of competent human resources, serving as the impetus for specific behaviors aimed at achieving predefined objectives. Several characteristics of motivation are identified, including its roots in fulfilling needs, its focus on goals, and its ability to sustain desired behaviors. In essence, this research underscores the significance of motivation in nurturing and advancing human resources within organizations. It emphasizes the imperative of maintaining a constant state of motivation among employees, ensuring their continuous commitment to meet the demands of their roles and responsibilities within the organization.

Abstract

This study aimed to find out the application of the six communication keys used by SDN Betek Taman 01 as the basis for building relationships with the community. This research was conducted using a qualitative approach with a case study type. The location of this research was SDN Betek Taman 01. The data collection techniques used in this study were observation, interviews, and documentation. Data sources include the school principal, the vice public relations head, and two student guardians. Data analysis was carried out through three steps, namely; 1) data condensation; 2) data presentation; and 3) drawing conclusions and verification. To get the validity of the data is done by the process of triangulation of sources and techniques. SDN Betek Taman 01 realizes that educational institutions do not stand independently, so the community's existence must be the key to building a good image for the school. Of the six principles of communication (Qaulan Sadida, Qaulan Baligha, Qaulan Ma'rufa, Qaulan Karima, Qaulan Layyinan, and Qaulan Maysura) that have been applied, it explains that the school first establishes a reciprocal or two-way relationship with the school community as in educators and education staff, students, and parents of students. The six principles above represent the four values in communication: respect, cooperation and understanding, and modesty. These communication principles are also the key in upholding the dignity of humanity as a whole, educating humans constantly to respect and maintain respect for themselves and others.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to identify communication strategies that are more effective in attracting people's interest in joining the madrasa and their obstacles. This research uses a qualitative approach and case studies to understand the communication strategy at madrasa based on pesantren and its impact on public interest. Data was collected through interviews with various related parties, participatory observation, and document analysis. The results of the research will provide insight into effective communication strategies in Islamic boarding schools and the level of community involvement in the institution's activities. The results of this work are a). Through an effective communication strategy, the madrasa has succeeded in increasing public interest in their education program, by identifying audiences, crafting convincing messages, and utilizing various media to reach a wider audience. The madrasa based on pesantren is an effective agent of change in awakening and fostering rural communities. b). The madrasa based on pesantren faces constraints of limited resources and a lack of communication skills in implementing communication strategies, but by utilizing local resources, skills training, and curriculum innovation, they have the potential to become more effective agents of change in attracting the interest of rural communities.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out the efforts to use information and communication technology  in optimizing the quality of public relations at Schools Based on Pesantren. This study uses qualitative methods to understand the use of information and communication technology  in public relations at Schools Based on Pesantren. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews and participatory observation with students, teachers, madrasa staff, parents and local residents. Data analysis was carried out thematically to explore meanings and interpretations related to the use of information and communication technology  in improving the quality of public relations in the madrasa. The results of this work are a) Utilization of information and communication technology  at Schools Based on Pesantren aims to improve the quality of education and community relations through adequate technological facilities and two-way communication with the community, with proper support and training. Thus, madrasas create a modern and inclusive learning environment and build harmonious community relations. b) Utilization of information and communication technology  at Schools Based on Pesantren aims to improve the quality of community relations through two-way communication and easy access to information, with infrastructure challenges and human resource readiness that need to be overcome to create an inclusive and participatory environment.

Abstract

This study aims to find out how the profiling religious personality through managing character representations, considering the current condition of character problems in Indonesia is very deplorable. Therefore, there needs to be a new breakthrough in fixing this problem. This research uses a qualitative case study type approach carried out through observation, interviews and documentation. The data analysis technique starts from presenting the data, reducing the data and drawing conclusions. The results of the study show that; 1) Planning for character education for students at SMP Bhakti Pertiwi, is carried out by establishing the school's vision and mission, organizational structure, planning the system, preparing teachers and staff and their skills, then forming systems and strategies character education; 2) The implementation of character education with the McKinsey framework in forming the religious character and discipline of students at SMP Bhakti Pertiwi is by internalizing and integrating all character values ​​in all intra-curricular and extra-curricular activities of the school.

Abstract

Following up on the bankruptcy of Pesantren after decades, of course there must be a number of steps that need to be addressed or require concrete steps to maintain the sustainability of Pesantren. The purpose of this study is to find out how the role of Organizational Framing Shadow is in maintaining the Sustainability of Pesantren. This research uses a qualitative case study type approach carried out through observation, interviews and documentation. The data analysis technique starts from presenting the data, reducing the data and drawing conclusions. The results showed that: the planning and implementation of farming shadow organization in maintaining the subtainability of the Pesantren Nurul Qodim, namely: Empowerment in the field of Education, Empowerment in the social field, Empowerment in the field of Islamic da'wah. Furthermore, there is an evaluation process carried out through problem identification: mapping of service areas, classifying needs, individual problems, communities and communities to be faced, history of regional development, field observations.

Abstract

Character education management is to shape one's personality through character education. The results are seen in a person's real actions, namely good behavior, honesty, responsibility, respect for the rights of others, hard work, empathy, and so on. This research aims to learn about the management of student character education in responding to the challenges of modernity in the era of globalization at schools based on pesantren. This research uses a qualitative method with a case study type with a case study design. The case study in this research is an in-depth study of individuals, a group, an organization, an activity program, and so on at a certain time. Data collection techniques in this study were carried out circularly using three approaches: l) participant observation, 2) in-depth interviews, and 3) documentation. While the data analysis in this study was carried out through; data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions or verification. Findings about the management of student character education in responding to the challenges of modernity in the era of globalization at schools based on pesantren include; (1) the planning of the student character education management program at schools based on pesantren is to plan the formation of the vision and mission according to the goals of the foundation, after that, design the formation of the structure and determine the main tasks and functions, plan the budgeting of program needs and plan the arrangement of the program by student character education. (2) The implementation of the student character education management program at schools based on pesantren is carrying out the vision and mission listed in positive value habits and three methods, namely understanding, habits, and exemplary by character education; members of the institution are responsible and work according to their duties and authorities, provide needs by the school program and carry out program arrangements that are carried out together.

Abstract

This study aims to determine how student behavior management is based on parental involvement and what factors hinder its implementation. The qualitative approach used in this research is multi-site. The research locations were MI Azzainiyah II and MTs Azzainiyah II. Data collection techniques included participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies. Informants in obtaining data consisted of the principal, vice principal for student affairs, teachers, and student guardians. The data analysis used consists of single-case data analysis and cross-case data analysis. The results showed that involvement-based learner behavior management is implemented to assist schools in carrying out educational tasks and enriching the learning experience gained by students. Parents' participation in student behavior management is to supervise or control their children's learning time and learning methods; monitor the development of their children's academic abilities; monitor the development of their personalities, which include attitudes, morals, and behavior; and ask about the activities their children do while at school. Meanwhile, the factors that hinder student behavior management include health factors, intelligence factors, attention factors, interest factors, and talent factors.
