Abstract

This research aims to explore and analyze the integration of stress management and mental health in overcoming burnout and its impact on the quality of student learning at the Ar-Rofi'iyyah Kraksaan Probolinggo Islamic Boarding School. This research uses a qualitative method with a case study approach, collecting descriptive data from interviews, observations, and documentation. This method was chosen to provide a direct relationship between researchers and subjects, as well as flexibility in dealing with the complexity of the phenomena being observed. The research results show that burnout in students is caused by several main interrelated factors, including heavy academic load, lack of rest time, social pressure, and physical fatigue due to excessive activity. The implemented stress management and mental health integration program showed positive results, improving the quality of learning through increasing academic scores and active participation of students. In addition, this program reduces health complaints, improves mental well-being, and increases student satisfaction and comfort. Increasing social support, supportive facilities, and mental health education programs are important in creating a more supportive and comfortable Islamic boarding school environment. This research provides an in-depth understanding of how stress management and mental health strategies can overcome burnout and improve the quality of student learning.

Students as recipients are responsible for responding to predetermined knowledge sequences, following procedures and learning paths, and carrying out learning activities through the use of Artificial Intelligence to achieve predetermined goals. Students as collaborators interact with the Artificial Intelligence system to achieve better and more efficient learning. Meanwhile, students as leaders take the role of controllers to become leaders in their own learning process, manage the risk of Artificial Intelligence decision automation, and develop better and more efficient learning.

Abstract

This study explores the strategic role of school leadership in implementing character education that promotes environmental awareness in a primary Islamic school in Indonesia. Conducted at SD Islam Siti Chodijah, Probolinggo, the research responds to the ongoing gap between formal learning and students’ environmental behavior, which often reflects weak implementation of character-based ecological values. Using a qualitative approach with a phenomenological design, this research investigates the lived experiences and strategies adopted by the principal to instill environmental character values. Key leadership strategies identified include the reinforcement of the school’s vision and mission, periodic teacher training, community and parental involvement, the application of fair reward and sanction systems, and routine monitoring and evaluation. Implementation is carried out through a series of school programs such as SENSE (healthy morning exercises), SIROSA (corridor literacy), WAKABIRRU (time for honoring parents), JUMBERKAH (clean and blessed Fridays), BUSPATA (proper waste disposal), and SERABI, KUKIS, METASEKA, and MEPISEKA—programs designed to cultivate personal and collective hygiene habits. The findings highlight that effective leadership is instrumental in integrating character education with daily school practices, bridging pedagogical vision with actionable programs. This research contributes to the discourse on school-based environmental character education and offers practical insights for education policymakers and practitioners in similar contexts.

Abstract

The application of quality management based on Islamic values has the potential to shape students’ holistic character by integrating cognitive, affective, and spiritual dimensions. However, the integration of modern management systems with spiritual values often remains conceptually fragmented and lacks a structured implementation framework. This study aims to explore the challenges of integrating spiritual values into modern educational management systems within Islamic educational institutions. Using a qualitative approach with a case study design, data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews with school leaders and teachers, and documentation analysis. The findings of the study reveal several key challenges in the integration process. First, there is a conceptual gap between managerial efficiency emphasized in modern systems and the moral-spiritual orientation upheld in Islamic values. Second, institutional resistance emerges due to the lack of understanding and capacity of school leaders in harmonizing both paradigms. Third, the absence of standardized indicators for measuring spiritual dimensions makes the integration process ambiguous and inconsistent. Fourth, external pressures such as accreditation demands and bureaucratic expectations often prioritize measurable outputs over spiritual growth. Lastly, there is limited professional development for educators in implementing spiritually grounded quality management. These challenges suggest the need for a comprehensive framework that aligns modern quality management principles with Islamic educational philosophy, supported by policy, training, and contextual adaptation within the institution.

Abstract

In the era of rapidly evolving educational technologies, strategic leadership plays a crucial role in cultivating a sustainable digital learning culture within smart school ecosystems. This study aims to investigate how educational leaders in Pakistani schools navigate the challenges and leverage opportunities in building a digitally enriched learning environment. Employing a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through semi-structured interviews with principals, ICT coordinators, and teachers in five smart schools across three major cities in Pakistan: Lahore, Islamabad, and Karachi. Thematic analysis revealed four key leadership strategies contributing to digital transformation: vision-driven leadership, capacity building through continuous professional development, infrastructure mobilization, and fostering digital citizenship among students and staff. The findings highlight that strategic alignment between policy, pedagogy, and digital innovation significantly enhances school readiness for smart learning integration. However, systemic constraints such as inequitable access to devices, digital literacy gaps, and resistance to pedagogical change remain key barriers. This study contributes to the growing discourse on digital leadership by offering a contextualized framework for educational leaders in developing countries. The paper concludes with policy recommendations for building resilient digital learning ecosystems through adaptive leadership, stakeholder engagement, and inclusive digital planning.
