Abstract

This study uses a qualitative descriptive method to categorize the level of mathematical problem solving based on mathematical resilience, namely high, medium, and low. The data collection technique used a problem-solving ability test on the Pythagorean theorem material and a mathematical resilience questionnaire. The sample of this research is the VIII grade students of SMP Negeri 39 Pekanbaru. This study's problem-solving ability category is based on the students' mathematical resilience ability in high and medium categories. The ability to solve mathematical problems of students with high mathematical resilience is better than those with moderate category resilience abilities. Based on the results of the research that has been done, the level of mathematical problem-solving ability of the students of SMP Negeri 39 Pekanbaru is still very low on the 1st question point, with a score of 6%. In the second question, students' ability to solve mathematical problems is classified as moderate, with a score of 55%. In the third question, students' ability to solve mathematical problems is very low, namely getting a score of 38%.

Abstract

The rapid development of information technology marks the 21st century, but there are still teachers who only use student worksheets as a learning resource. Project-based learning media can be used and utilized easily by teachers and students during direct teaching and learning activities. In addition, they can be used by students online as a source of student learning to increase independence, motivation, and better learning outcomes. This research aims to develop project-based learning media so students can easily understand the material and be directly involved in project activities. This study uses the ADDIE development model. The resulting product is the validity of project-based learning media on statistical material for vocational students. The first step in this research is to create a flowchart as a media flow and then interpret it using PowerPoint media. The validation of learning media results that have been carried out through the validator obtained an average score of 3.65 with a decent category for media and an average score of 3.85 for material with a very decent category.

Abstract

This classroom action research aims to improve the problem-solving process and students' mathematical problem-solving skills by applying the Problem Based Learning model. The subjects in this study were class VII-B students of MTs PP Nurul Huda Lubuk Batu Jaya in the even semester of the 2021/2022 school year, totaling 24 students. This study consisted of two cycles, each consisting of four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research instruments used were learning devices and data collection instruments. Learning tools consist of a syllabus, lesson plan (RPP), and student activity sheets (LAS), while the data collection instruments used are observation sheets and KPMM tests. Data from the observation sheet shows that the learning process has improved from cycle I to cycle II. The average KPMM score of students in the first cycle was 68.61, increasing to 86.36 in the second cycle. Based on the results obtained, it can be concluded that the Problem Based Learning model can improve the learning process and the mathematical problem-solving abilities of class VII-B MTs PP Nurul Huda Lubuk Batu Jaya students in the even semester of the 2019/2020 school year.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of students' mathematical understanding abilities in Indonesia, especially in Riau Province and the limited number of Student Worksheets that facilitate mathematical understanding abilities. Mathematical understanding is important for students because it becomes a prerequisite for further mathematical concepts, and meaningful learning will last longer. In facilitating students' mathematical understanding skills, meaningful learning is needed. One such learning is the Discovery Learning (DL) model. Applying a learning model alone is not enough to support the realization of an active learning process that can develop students' mathematical understanding abilities. Therefore, a teacher must provide facilities to support students, including developing Student Worksheets. Using appropriate digital technology in learning facilitates and attracts students' interest in learning so that learning becomes more effective. One of the sites that can make student worksheets more interactive by adding media in the form of motion animation, audio and video to it is a live worksheet. This study aimed to produce a product in the form of an electronic student worksheet based on the Discovery Learning (DL) model to facilitate mathematical understanding skills in class XI SMA/MA students on valid and practical Limit Function material. This research uses the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Define, Design, Development, and Evaluation). The resulting product is stated to be very valid and practical with an average percentage validity of 90%, and the average value of the questionnaire response results for students by 83%.

Abstract

Mathematical disposition ability is a strong will from within students to learn mathematics so that students can solve mathematical problems. This ability is important for students because it can support their understanding of solving mathematical problems. This study analyzed students' mathematical disposition abilities in online learning mathematics during the pandemic. This research is quantitative descriptive research with the type of survey research. The research subjects were grade 11 science and social studies students at Mutiara Harapan High School, totaling 30 students. Data collection techniques used questionnaires distributed through google forms and interviews. The data analysis technique used descriptive statistics. The result is that the first 4 indicators of mathematical dispositional ability are in the high category with percentages of 72%, 79%, 75%, and 70%, respectively. The other 3 indicators are in the very high category, with percentages of 84%, 89%, and 84%, respectively. Overall, students' mathematical disposition during the pandemic was in the high category, with an average percentage of 79%. The mathematical disposition of students in the high category shows that students have self-confidence, flexibility, perseverance, curiosity, reflection on work results, and appreciation and apply the role of mathematics in everyday life.

Abstract

All aspects of life, including the education system, have undergone many changes due to the Covid-19 pandemic. We need media that can facilitate and attract students to carry out learning activities. This study aims to develop GeoGebra-based mathematics learning media. The method used in this research is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate). The research was carried out at UIN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Mathematics Study Program in semester 3. The research subjects for the small-scale field test were class A, which had 32 students; for the large-scale field test, there were 132 students in Mathematics Education 3rd Semester. The results of research on the development of GeoGebra-based learning media in the Flat Analytical Geometry course for students majoring in Mathematics Education at UIN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung were declared valid, practical and effective. The future hope for developing similar media is to expand the scope of the material discussed because the media developed is limited to flat analytic geometry operations.

Abstract

This study aims to enhance students' capacity for solving mathematical problems through a problem-based learning style. One kind of research that is applied is classroom action research. 37 SMP Negeri 23 Pekanbaru grade 7 kids representing a range of academic abilities were used as research participants. Planning, execution, observation, and reflection are divided into two cycles in this study. The gathering of data involved watching teachers and students in action and administering learning achievement exams as part of daily quizzes. The study results suggest that a problem-based learning strategy can improve students' problem-solving abilities. As evidence, the value of learning outcomes rises from cycle I to cycle II. Cycle I and Cycle II students who passed the KKM had success rates of 27.03% and 29.73%, respectively. According to the study's findings, class VII students at SMP Negeri 23 Pekanbaru can improve their arithmetic problem-solving skills and learn more about math by employing a problem-based learning strategy.

Abstract

This classroom action research aims to improve student's learning process and outcomes by applying problem-based learning models in the class. The subjects of this study were 39 class VII H students of SMP Negeri 23 Pekanbaru with different levels of academic ability. This research was divided into 2 cycles, each consisting of four stages: planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. The data collected was obtained from researchers' observations of the learning activities of teachers and students during class and learning outcomes tests in the form of daily tests. The results obtained are an increase in a better direction. This can be seen in students who participate actively and are more responsible in the learning process, such as discussing, presenting, expressing opinions, and asking questions to provide learning conclusions. The number of students who achieved KKM on the basic value, daily test I (cycle 1), and daily test II (cycle II) was 51.2%, 58.9%, and 66.7%. KKM presentations that experienced an increase from before to after the action showed that student learning outcomes improved. The results of this study indicate that the learning process using a problem-based learning model can improve the quality of learning and learning outcomes of class VII H students of SMP Negeri 23 Pekanbaru.
