Abstract

The integration of technology in physics education is not yet common. The absence of engaging and interactive physics resources may lead to a decline in students' enthusiasm and understanding of the subject matter being taught. To address this issue, simulation tools for physics learning have been created. This study aims to design effective simulation resources for physics education that align with TPACK principles. The ADDIE model is employed for the development process. A questionnaire is utilized to gather feedback on the validity from material and media experts, as well as from students. The analysis of the data utilizes both quantitative and qualitative methods. The evaluations from material and media experts yielded scores of 94% and 92%, indicating that these resources are highly suitable for educational purposes. Additionally, student feedback revealed that 83.4% categorized their responses as very positive. Therefore, it can be concluded that the physics simulation media centered on Newton's Laws effectively supports TPACK-driven learning in educational settings

Abstract

East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) possesses an abundance of local food resources, such as jagung bose (bose corn), tubers, and fishery commodities; however, the quantitative integration of their caloric value into physics education remains highly limited. This study aims to develop a simple calorimeter experimental design based on the ethnophysics of NTT local foods to enhance students' science process skills (SPS). The method employed is a structured literature review (narrative review) analyzing 20 relevant scientific articles (2018–2026) sourced from Google Scholar and SINTA databases concerning the thermodynamic principles of Black's Law, low-cost calorimeter designs, and SPS implementation. The analytical procedure involves reviewing the high school physics curriculum, reconstructing scientific concepts from local food wisdom, and designing experimental syntax. The conceptual review yields a blueprint for a simple calorimeter experimental design utilizing insulated used cans, demonstrating high conceptual validity for accurately measuring the caloric value of local food ingredients in under-resourced school laboratories. The scientific contribution of this design includes measurable SPS indicators, ranging from formulating hypotheses and precisely measuring temperature to analyzing thermal data. The implication of this research provides a practical solution for educators in NTT to conduct contextual physics learning that not only enhances students' SPS but also fosters nutritional literacy rooted in local wisdom.

Abstract

Teaching physics on the topic of Uniform Circular Motion requires instructional media capable of facilitating the visualization of concepts while enhancing student engagement in the learning process. Before being used in instruction, the media must undergo a validation process to ensure its suitability in terms of content, pedagogy, media, and visual design. This study aims to analyze the feasibility of the “Circular Quest: Detective Orbit” board game for the topic of Uniform Circular Motion based on validation results from six validators—comprising three subject matter experts and three media experts. This study is part of a research and development (R&D) project using the ADDIE model, limited to the Development phase. The Analysis and Design phases were conducted as the foundation for media development, while this article focuses on the analysis of the experts’ validation results regarding the media’s suitability. Data were collected using a media validation sheet and analyzed quantitatively using Aiken’s V validity coefficient, with a criterion of V ? 0.89 indicating validity, while V < 0.89 indicates invalidity. The research results show that the aspect of content completeness received a score of 0.93; curriculum alignment and pedagogical suitability, 0.92; content suitability, 0.94; media suitability and functionality, 0.97; while the aspect of visual design received a score of 0.80, thus failing to meet the validity criteria. Overall, the media validation results yielded an Aiken’s V validity coefficient of 0.91, falling into the “valid” category. These results indicate that the “Circular Quest: Detective Orbit” board game has met the validity criteria based on expert assessments. Although the visual design aspect has been revised according to the validators’ feedback, the revised version has not yet undergone a revalidation process. Therefore, further research is recommended to conduct additional validation, practicality testing, and effectiveness testing through implementation with students.
