Conference on Management, Business, Innovation, Education and Social Sciences (CoMBInES) Conducting a research is one of the implementations of Three Pillars of Higher Education that has a crucial role for the development of science, technology, and arts as well as for the improvement of the welfare of society since the research results are directly implemented to the society/community. To spread more significant effect; not only for the society/community but also for more external parties; therefore, Universitas Internasional Batam hold a Conference on Management, Business, Innovation, Education and Social Sciences (CoMBInES) that is attended by lecturers and students from both domestic and overseas partners to disseminate their research works. Through this conference, the researchers are able to share their knowledge and motivation in the application of sustainable research activities.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian adalah untuk menganalisa bagaimanakah pertanggungjawaban pidana atas tindak pidana penipuan yang dilakukan oleh korporasi dan bagaimana penerapan hukum dalam Putusan Pengadilan Negeri Batam Nomor 528/Pid.B/2015/PN.Btm. Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa berdasarkan PERMA Nomor 13 tahun 2016 terdapat beberapa aturan yang mengatur mengenai pertanggungjawaban tindak pidana penipuan yang dilakukan oleh korporasi dan pengurus dengan memberikan denda, apabila tidak dapat membayarkan denda yang telah ditetapkan oleh pengadilan maka asset yang dimiliki akan disita serta kurungan penjara. Dengan terpenuhinya unsur-unsur yang ada, maka penerapkan hukum terkait peraturan tindak pidana yaitu menggunakan pasal 378 KUHP

Abstract

Pergantian auditor terjadi saat bergantinya Kantor Akuntan Publik (KAP) yang lama dengan KAP baru. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis faktor yang mempengaruhi pergantian auditor. Sampel dipilih menggunakan metode purposive sampling bersumber dari annual report perusahaan yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia pada tahun 2015 sampai dengan 2019. Pengujian menggunakan regresi logistik biner dan diproses menggunakan program SPSS versi 21. Hasil dari analisis data menunjukkan bahwa reputasi auditor berpengaruh signifikan positif terhadap pergantian auditor, serta profitabilitas berpengaruh signifikan negatif terhadap pergantian auditor. Sedangkan kesulitan keuangan, opini auditor, perubahan manajemen serta komisaris independen tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap pergantian auditor

Abstract

From the end of 2019 to 2021 the coronavirus (COVID-19) had hit most countries, the use of information and communication technology as a guide in social distancing restrictions proposed by the government and the health department during the pandemic. The purpose of this study is how to implement and compare the use of MPLS VPN L3 and L2 networks during the COVID-19 period to support the world of education and industry by using implementation parameters, Quality of Service (QoS), security, and scalability. In this research, the method used is the Network Development Life Cycle (NDLC), using several stages, namely analysis, design, implementation, and monitoring. The results of this study provide an overview of the world of education and industry in determining and implementing MPLS technology that suits their needs.

Abstract

Studi ini menginvestigasi apakah perusahaan mengalami financial distress dan implikasinya terhadap tax avoidance. Tekhnik regresi menggunakan data panel dimana sampel adalah perusahaan yang terdaftar di indeks LQ45 Bursa Efek Indonesia tahun 2015-2019. Studi ini mendemonstrasikan bahwa perusahaan di indeks LQ45 melakukan tax avoidance-namun perusahaan tidak mengalami financial distress sehingga tidak memberi implikasi terhadap tax avoidance. Tidak terduga dan dihipotesiskan, ukuran dan leverage perusahaan mendorong perusahaan melakukan praktik tax avoidance. Identiknya penelitian ini adalah memberi bukti financial distress yang berhasil dihindari tidak menjamin perusahaan tidak melakukan tax avoidance.

Abstract

In today's modern era, there are many ways to promote a product to the wider community, one of which is by using catalogs. Catalogs are known as effective promotional media as they present information and product images in a visually appealing manner. In this study, we will develop a catalog with an augmented reality feature that will appear when the catalog pages are scanned using certain applications. This catalog was created to introduce a variety of popular betta fish in Indonesia to the public. In this development, MDLC (Multimedia Development Life Cycle) will be used since it considered the most suitable method for catalog development

Abstract

Sebuah instansi baik formal maupun non formal membutuhkan fasilitas yang dapat memberikan kemudahan pengguna untuk mendorong kemajuan atau menunjang efisiensi kerja sehingga memenuhi kebutuhan organisasi dengan cepat, tepat waktu, relevan dan akurat. Universitas Internasional Batam adalah salah satu institusi dengan karyawan yang banyak. Manajemen kerja Universitas Internasional Batam masih bersifat manual, pencatatan pekerjaan menggunakan Microsoft Excel. Dengan demikian, dibuatlah sistem berbasis web menggunakan bahasa pemograman PHP dengan framework Codeigniter yang dapat membantu proses manajemen kerja sehingga mampu meningkatkan efisiensi. Sistem yang dikembangkan akan mendapat maintenance dan evaluasi secara berkala untuk menjaga sistem agar terus bekerja dengan baik.

Abstract

Hadirnya Social Commerce memberikan kesempatan bagi pembeli untuk saling berbagi informasi tentang pengalaman berbelanja mereka, meninjau produk atau layanan, membangun hubungan sosial satu sama lain dan kemudian mempromosikan niat untuk membeli. Tujuan penelitian ini ialah menganalisis Faktor-Faktor yang Mempengaruhi Purchase Intention pada Pembelian Produk Fashion melalui Social Commerce terhadap masyarakat Kota Batam. Sampel penelitian ini adalah masyarakat Kota Batam yang berpengalaman dalam berbelanja produk Fashion melalui Social Commerce. Hasil pada penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas hubungan variabel yang dimuat pada model penelitian memiliki pengaruh, terkecuali pada hubungan Social Presence dan Trust toward Site Members terhadap Purchase Intention.

Abstract

For the past few years, many businesses have been suffering from sales decline as they struggled to manage their employees during the Covid-19 outbreak. As a result, many companies today have policies to deal with the epidemic, such as the implementation of hybrid work arrangements to manage employee contact. Operating performance remains crucial for businesses to survive and flourish. Working from home requires self-discipline as there are less interactions with superiors, which can negatively affect employee productivity. Therefore, effective management is critical to maintain or improve employees’ productivity level. The effect of remote work arrangements on the productivity of the general workforce have not been fully explored particularly in Malaysia. Literature review on work productivity during Covid-19 reveals that studies have mainly focussed employees in health and education sectors. The review of Malaysia indicates on that work from home productivity studies have mostly centred on a specific workplace or industry. Notably, there are no existing studies regarding the work from home productivity of the general workforce comprising of employees from both the manufacturing and service sectors in Malaysia. Therefore, this study aims to fill the research gap by focussing on the general workforce in Malaysia who are mostly employed either in the service or manufacturing sector. It is important for business organizations to understand the relevant Covid-19 work-related factors that impact the productivity of their staff. The factors are perceived organizational support, leadership, teamwork and technology support. For this study, data was collected via online survey. In total, 150 useable responses were obtained and analysed using SPSS. The results show that perceived organizational support and technology support significantly impact work productivity. However, leadership and teamwork did not have significant effect on employees’ productivity. These findings provide a useful guidance to managers to focus on providing organizational and technological support in order to improve work productivity for employees involved in hybrid working mode.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui dampak pandemi covid-19 terhadap pelaksanaan pembelajaran pendidikan jasmani adaptif bagi anak berkebutuhan khusus di SLB. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Informan dalam penelitian ini adalah guru mata pelajaran pendidikan jasmani adaptif dan guru kelas. Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran berlangsung secara daring sehingga menimbulkan hambatan dalam pelaksanaan pembelajaran pendidikan jasmani adaptif. Hambatan tersebut yaitu praktik pembelajaran, aksesbilitas, dan sarana prasarana yang kurang memadai. Kesimpulan penelitian ini yaitu adanya hambatan pembelajaran pendidikan jasmani adaptif sebagai dampak pandemi covid 19

Abstract

Masalah keanekaragaman dewan telah mendapat perhatian yang meningkat dari akademisi dan praktisi pada tahun - tahun terakhir ini. Dalam penelitian ini, kami menilai kembali hubungan antara keragaman gender dan kinerja perusahaan dengan menggunakan metode kuantitatif deskriptif. Data yang kami analisis merupakan data perusahaan yang terdaftar di bursa efek Indonesia dari tahun 2015 – 2018. Berdasarkan analisa data yang dilakukan, diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa keragaman gender penting dalam meningkatkan kinerja perusahaan. Selain itu, penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa masuknya direktur wanita berhubungan positif dengan kinerja keuangan perusahaan, yang diukur dengan return on asset.
