Buy Now Pay Later demand is increasing due to the technology advantage which is easier to register than the credit cards. It provides a payment solution which allowing consumers to buy goods or services immediately by delaying payment with zero per cent interest. This research investigated the Malaysian consumers intention on what effects them in using Buy Now Pay Later. This study uses a non probability sampling method of 200 respondents using SPSS version 27. Results showed that performance expectancy, facilitating conditions, and perceived security affect consumers intention to use Buy Now Pay Later whereas social influence and effort expectancy do not have direct effect. Thus, it is suggested Paylater providers should always improve their performance such as reduce downtime and concentrate on gaining their customers' trust in terms of security. This study seeks to assist paylater providers in the development of effective marketing strategies for further increase usage of this paylater function. Besides, it can alert paylater users on the risk on potential security threats and impulse purchase when using Paylater. Understanding the significance of the additional factor such as perceived security, may provide a reference for the future revision of UTAUT. This study consisted a few limitations such as unevenly distributed respondents' income as most respondents are B40. This is due to some of the M40 and T40 respondents are not interested in filling out the questionnaire as they think it is time-consuming. Moreover, M40 and T40 respondents are difficult to reach. Then, there is limited variables being researched due some respondents stated variables such as brand image or advertisement are playing important role. Thus, it is recommended that surveys be filled equally to each income category to improve data gathering consistency and accuracy while other variables should be added in a future research.

Abstract

Cloud computing is an internet-based service model for accommodating enterprise resources where companies do not have to think about resources because cloud computing service providers provide resource facilities on the internet. Because the resources of cloud computing systems on the internet, as well as providing services to many people simultaneously, can allow cloud computing systems to be easily threatened by various types of Cyber Attacks. The purpose of this research is to develop the design of a secure cloud computing network architecture using the NDLC method by developing a cloud computing network security system using IDPS case study technology at PT. XYZ. IDPS Snort is used as an intrusion detection and prevention system as well as a firewall to filter packet packets that are indicated as threats. The evaluation was conducted to prove whether the network security system applied to cloud computing technology can run well, by testing several attacks such as Ports Scanning using NMAP, Ping of Death and DoS SYNFlood. The results of the evaluation proved that IDPS SNORT can detect and block all well-tested attacks on the applied cloud computing network.

Abstract

The focus of this research is how to interrelate regional innovation products with regional trade and the creation of economic agglomerations in the economic corridor of Sumatra. The research approach used is the spatial lag model and the spatial error model using 2020 spatial data in 10 provinces in the economic corridor of Sumatra. The results show that first: Innovation products and regional trade are spatial variables because they have a greater Moran index value, with the centre of the cluster being Riau province, areas around the centre of the cluster, such as North Sumatra, West Sumatra, South Sumatra. The increase in regional trade intensity is able to encourage an increase in innovation products in the Sumatra economic corridor. On the other hand, the increase in innovation products by large industries has not had a significant impact on increasing regional trade in the Sumatra economic corridor. Second: The factors that affect the increase in innovation products in large and medium industries in the economic corridor of Sumatra are the increase in added value in the beverage industry, increase in added value in the computer and electronic goods industry, and the creation of agglomerations in the food and beverage industry. Meanwhile, an increase in government spending on increasing R&D and venture capital encourages a decline in innovation products in large and medium industries in the Sumatra economic corridor. Third: The factors that affect the increase in regional trade in the economic corridor of Sumatra are increased government spending on R&D, increased added value in the beverage industry, increased added value in the computer and electronic equipment industry, and regional innovation products. Fourth: The cluster centre for increasing the added value of the computer industry and the beverage industry as a very important variable in increasing regional innovation products and regional trade in the long term is the province of Riau and Aceh and this greatly impacts the hinterland area.

Abstract

This study determine whether the firm performance and earning quality has changed after mergers and acquisitions. Firms that conducted mergers and acquisitions between 2010-2014 and were listed on the IDX were the objects of this research. The results showed that after mergers and acquisitions, the firm's overall profitability, liquidity and solvency decreased significantly. However, this decline was also accompanied by an increase in earning quality, although not so significant. These research findings provide a new insight that after mergers and acquisitions, the firm focus on improving earnings quality first, thus sacrificing other financial performance such as profitability, liquidity and solvency

Abstract

Abstract

Most Malaysian listed companies have yet to achieve the government’s target of 30% women holding senior management roles, unlike the rising trend observed across regions. Moreover, glass cliff theory as opposed to female leadership theory showed empirical evidence that associate women directors with poor corporate performance as they are hired either to comply with the quota stipulated by government authorities or as a scapegoat for unavoidable business failure during crisis period. Besides, empirical evidence of gender pays disparity also demotivated women directors and consequently ramified corporate performance. An overall panel of 87 firm-year observations compiled from 24 listed healthcare companies from 2018 to 2021 are used to test whether percentage of women directors (WDIR), ratio of average women to men directors’ remuneration (WREM), average age of women directors (WAGE), woman chairman dummy (WCHM) and woman CEO dummy (WCEO) affect return on equity (ROE). Random effect regression model results show that WCHM negatively affect ROE in the overall panel (2018-2021) and WAGE positively affect ROE in the during Covid sub-panel (2020-2021). Except for these, women directors’ board involvement and remuneration are generally insignificant in influencing healthcare companies ROE because women are under-represented on boards in this sector (mean WDIR of 23.27%), women directors are underpaid in comparison to their men counterparts (mean WREM of 0.8920 which is less than 1) and many of the companies listed in this sector are still relatively new.
