Abstract

The universe created by Allah SWT is a blessing that must be preserved and safeguarded. Humans, as stewards on Earth, bear the responsibility of maintaining and managing nature by avoiding destructive actions. Efforts to support environmental sustainability include the use of salicylic acid in appropriate doses to enhance plant growth while preserving the environment. The method used in this study is library research, which relies on collecting data from various literature sources. The data utilized originates from academic references such as related scientific journals, reference books, and other relevant documents. From an Islamic perspective, the use of salicylic acid can be integrated with Qur'anic teachings that emphasize the importance of environmental preservation and the avoidance of harm, as exemplified in Surah Al-A'raf (7:56), Surah Al-Baqarah (2:11), and Surah Al-A'raf (7:85). Principles of environmental preservation are also reflected in the values and practices of Sufism, including zuhd, dzikr and fikr, and hubb. Thus, these teachings encourage humanity to remain attentive to the environment and take responsibility for restoring any damage that has occurred.

Abstract

Moringa oleifera leaves are renowned for their immense benefits, both from a scientific perspective and in Islamic teachings. Scientifically, these leaves are rich in active compounds, including vitamins A, B, and C, as well as minerals such as calcium, potassium, and iron. Scientific research highlights their antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial properties, which contribute towards treating a variety of health conditions. Moringa leaves are also known to effectively lower blood sugar levels, enhance brain function, and reduce cancer risks. From the Quranic perspective, Moringa leaves are regarded as a blessed plant with numerous health benefits. This is reflected in Surah Al-Fath (48:29) and Surah Qaf (50:9), which underscore the importance of plants in human life and their health benefits. Furthermore, hadiths refer to Moringa as a plant that offers blessings and health benefits to humankind. With both scientific evidence and religious teachings supporting the benefits of Moringa leaves, they can be utilized as a nutritious and effective natural remedy. Further research and the application of Moringa in medical and spiritual practices can have a significant positive impact on human health

Abstract

The Qur'an is an extraordinary miracle for the universe that provides guidance to humans, and contains scientific signs and information that can be verified through advances in scientific methods and discoveries in the modern era. The use of medicinal plants/herbs in healing diseases is prominent in Islamic teachings, such as the fig plant (Ficus carica L.). This research uses a qualitative descriptive method by collecting data from various library sources, including journals, books and other literature. The fig plant (Ficus carica L.) belongs to the Moraceae family and has potential as a source of bioactive chemicals. Allah has mentioned figs in Surah At-Tin verse 1 and mentioned their benefits in preventing hemorrhoids and useful for bone diseases, as conveyed in the Hadith by the Prophet Muhammad Saw., through Abu Dzar. Fig plants contain phytochemicals such as flavonoids, polyphenols, saponins, xanthol, and ꞵ-setosterol, and contain iodine, calcium, phosphorus, iron, magnesium, sulfur (phosphate), chlorine, malic acid, and nicotinic acid. Fig plants have an important role in maintaining health by fighting oxidative stress from free radicals, preventing cancer, avoiding blood vessel disease, reducing the risk of paralysis, maintaining respiratory function, reducing liver inflammation, warding off leprosy, relieving headaches, and maintaining a healthy nervous system.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model on students' science literacy in IPAS learning for fifth-grade students at SDN 26 Cakranegara. This research is a quantitative study with a Quasi-Experimental design in the form of a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population in this study consists of all fifth-grade students at SDN 26 Cakranegara, comprising three classes: V-A, V-B, and V-C. The research sample consisted of classes V-A and V-B, selected using a random sampling method. Data collection methods included observation and testing. Observation was used to obtain data on the implementation of learning conducted by teachers using the PBL model, while tests were used to collect data on students’ science literacy skills. The data collection instruments were observation sheets for the implementation of PBL and science literacy test sheets. Data analysis techniques used the independent sample t-test. The results of this study indicate that the use of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model has an effect on the science literacy skills of fifth-grade students in IPAS learning, based on the hypothesis test results which showed a significance value of 0.000, which is less than 0.05. This means that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, so it can be concluded that there is an effect of the Problem Based Learning model on students' science literacy in IPAS learning for fifth-grade students at SDN 26 Cakranegara.

Abstract

The increasing shrimp production and consumption in Indonesia generates significant amounts of shrimp shell waste, which has not been optimally utilized and often becomes an environmental problem. This waste is rich in chitin, which can be processed into chitosan—a multifunctional biopolymer with various applications in food, health, agriculture, and environmental fields. This literature review explores the synthesis process, characterization, and utilization of chitosan derived from shrimp shell waste, while highlighting the importance of integrating Islamic ethical values in the sustainable management of natural resources. The synthesis of chitosan involves demineralization, deproteinization, and deacetylation steps, with critical parameters such as temperature, time, and base concentration affecting the degree of deacetylation. The review shows that utilizing shrimp shell waste as a source of chitosan not only supports circular economy principles and waste reduction but also aligns with Islamic teachings on responsible environmental stewardship. The integration of science and Islamic ethics is expected to promote the development of high-value, sustainable, and environmentally friendly biomaterials.
