Abstract

The role of lecturers to improve students  mathematical errors and to lead students to achieve higher potential developments is by (1) facilitating students to connect their  current knowledge to the previous ones, (2) encouraging students to continue learning, (3) providing sufficient assistance (scaffolding) to the students toward independence, (4) trigger students to always think so that the development of the scheme is always increasing, and (5) help students internalize the knowledge so that ultimately can construct his knowledge. Scaffolding is one way to assist students in overcoming difficulties solving geometry problems. The purpose of this research is to describe quitter students' thinking process in solving geometry problem by giving scaffolding in Mathematics Education Department of IAIN Bukittinggi. This research employs qualitative research that seeks to express in depth the process of thinking of quitter students in solving geometry problem by giving scaffolding, by using study process of student mathematics concept and its diagnosis through cognitive map. The results showed that quitter students' thinking process in solving geometry problem with scaffolding was unique and interesting. Each student has different ways of solving problems. Problem of difficulty are also experienced by quitter students. Scaffolding provided varies according to the needs of each student to develop his thinking process. By providing scaffolding in general, the process of thinking the subject of research to develop in line with the structure of the problem.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the lack of student activity in the learning process and the low ability to understand students' mathematical concepts. This is contrary to learning that is still conventional in nature, namely the learning process issued by the teacher. To overcome this problem, the Think Talk Write (TTW) cooperative learning model is applied. Mathematics learning for students who learn to think to talk cooperative learning models (TTW) and understanding mathematical concepts who learn think to talk cooperative learning models (TTW) are better for those looking for conventional learning. This type of research is a pre-trial research design that is the Static Group Comparison Design. The population in this study were all class XI MIPA. The sample in this study was class XI MIPA 2 as an experimental class and class XI MIPA 1 as a control class. The instrument used in the study was an observation sheet and a concept understanding test consisting of essay tests. Data obtained from the results of the study concluded that student activity with the cooperative learning model think talk writes (TTW) was 69.75%, so the activity was classified as active. Based on data analysis using t-test, it can be denied that "The ability to understand the mathematics of students who use the cooperative learning model of the type of think talk write (TTW) is better than conventional learning in class XI MIPA SMA N 5 Bukittinggi 2019/2020 academic year".

Abstract

The learning difficulties refer to a group of difficulties which are manifested in the form of real difficulties in the proficiency and use of listening, conversing, reading, writing, reasoning, or abilities in the field of mathematics. The purpose of this study was to analyze factors the difficulties of madrasah students in learning mathematics with the research subjects being students of class VII MTs N I Bukittinggi. The instrument used was a questionnaire. The results showed that students' learning difficulties in mathematics in terms of internal factors was 22.83% which was included in the high enough category with details: the difficulty of physiological factors was 19.24% with quite low categories, psychological factors of 26.42% with quite high category. The difficulty of learning mathematics in terms of external factors is 23.94% which is included in the category of high enough with the details: student learning difficulties in mathematics in terms of school factors is 24.85% with a high category, family factors of 9.40 % with low category, and community factors amounted to 37.58% with quite high category.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the development of mathematics education in Indonesia. To overcome this problem, teachers play a role in overcoming students' learning difficulties in mathematics subjects, especially in critical thinking skills. One alternative to solve this problem is to apply open ended learning. Open ended learning is learning that presents problems by solving problems in various ways and the solutions are also varied. This research aims to find out whether the critical thinking abilities of students using an open-ended learning approach are better than the critical thinking abilities of students using conventional learning. This type of research is experimental research with circle subject matter. The population in this study was all class VIII students, totaling 91 students. The location of this research is MTs Negeri 1 Solok. The sampling technique uses random sampling. The research instrument is in the form of posttest questions. The calculation obtained ????ℎ???????????????????? > ???? 0.95;41, namely 2.84 > 2.019 and ???????????????????????? = 0.983 at the significance level α = 0.05 so it is rejected. The experimental class average was 66.71 and the control class average was 54.73.

Abstract

One of the goals of mathematics learning according to the content standards of mathematics is that students have the ability to solve problems that include the ability to understand problems, design mathematical models, complete models and interpret solutions obtained. So that students from elementary school to university level have been trained in mathematical problem solving questions. However, there are still many weak students in achievement in the field of mathematics such as problem solving skills. One of the factors that influence the weakness of problem solving skills is the learning style. The purpose of this study was to analyze students' mathematical problem solving abilities based on learning styles. The type of this research is descriptive quantitative, with the research subject being students of class VIII MTsN totaling 38 students. The instrument used is Questionnaire and Test the ability to solve mathematical problems. Questionnaires are used to classify student learning styles, while problem solving ability tests are used to analyze students' problem solving abilities. The results of the study concluded that mathematical problem solving abilities of students who had a visual learning style were higher than the mathematical problem solving abilities of students who had audiotorial and kinesthetic learning styles. And the ability of problem solving students who have audiotorial learning styles is higher than students who have kinesthetic learning styles.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh masalah nilai kegiatan pembelajaran remedial yang belum sesuai dengan langkah-langkah pembelajaran remedial yang seharusnya berdasarkan observasi dan wawancara. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui bagaimana kegiatan pembelajaran remedial dalam pencapaian ketuntasan hasil belajar matematika yang dilakukan oleh guru di kelas XI SMKN 1 Pangkalan Kabupaten Lima Puluh Kota. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah satu orang guru matematika dan peserta didik kelas XI. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan teknik observasi dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dalam kegiatan pembelajaran remedial dalam pencapaian ketuntasan hasil belajar matematika tidak sesuai dengan langkah-langkah kegiatan pembelajaran remedial yang diharuskan adanya pembelajaran ulang dengan bimbingan secara individu ataupun secara kelompok. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah kegiatan pembelajaran remedial dalam pencapaian ketuntasan hasil belajar matematika yang tidak terlaksana sebagaimana mestinya, sebab pemahaman guru sebagai subjek dari kegiatan pembelajaran remedial, dalam proses penerapan pembelajaran diharuskan adanya pembelajaran remedial ataupun secara kelompok dan bisa membantu kesulitan yang dialami siswa dikelas XI SMKN 1 Pangkalan Kabupaten Lima Puluh Kota.

Abstract

Objektif. Pembelajaran pada masa pandemi covid-19 telah berdampak kepada pembelajaran yang berlangsung di sekolah-sekolah. Pembelajaran yang dilaksanakan secara tatap muka beralih menjadi pembelajaran online. Hal ini yang menyebabkan merosotnya minat belajar siswa-siswa di sekolah dan lebih khusus siswa-siswa di Sekolah Dasar (SD). Untuk mengatasi rendahnya minat belajar siswa sekolah dasar ini, tim melakukan pendampingan mengembalikan minat belajar siswa melalui pameran media pembelajaran matemati. Tujuan dari pendampingan ini tidak lain untuk upaya mengembalikan minat belajar matematika siswa setelah pandemi. Material and Metode. Kegiatan pendampingan berupa kegiatan PKM mandiri dengan kegiatan pameran media pembelajaran matematika. Tim secara bergantian menjelaskan beberapa media pembelajaran matematika kepada para siswa, tanya jawab, dan penutup. Pada tahap penutup ini tim memberikan angket kepada siswa. Hasil. Hasil dari kegiatan ini diperoleh bahwa siswa senang dengan adanya kegiatan, memperoleh pengalam baru, mengerti dan mudah memahmi konsep, dan berminat untuk belajar matematika. Kesimpulan. Perubahan minat belajar siswa, didasarkan oleh pengalaman yang diteri oleh siswa. Kegiatan pendampingan yang telah dilaksanakan merupakan salah satu memberikan pengalaman kepada siswa. Dengan adanya pameran media pembelajaran matematika siswa merasa senang dengan pendampingan (pameran media pembelajaran), siswa memahami dan mengerti dengan konsep-konsep matematika yang dijelaskan dengan menggunakan media, siswa merasa memperoleh pengalaman baru dalam belajar matematika, siswa tertarik untuk belajar matematika, dan minat belajar matematika siswa kembali meningkatkan.

Abstract

Students' interest in learning mathematics is needed to achieve better learning goals. If students' interest in learning is low, it can cause a less effective learning process carried out by the teacher. This study aims to describe students' interest in learning mathematics Integration of Islamic values. The method used in the research is descriptive quantitative method. The instrument used is a questionnaire with scoring using a Likert scale. The sample in this study were students of class VIII H SMP Negeri 1 Bukittinggi totaling 29 students. The results showed that in general, students' interest in learning mathematics in mathematics learning integrated with Islamic values was in the high category, where the average score was 78. A total of 138% or 4 students has an interest in integrated mathematics learning with Islamic values with moderate criteria, and 86.2% or 25 students have an interest in integrated mathematics learning with Islamic values with high criteria. Students' interest in learning mathematics determines whether mathematics learning is effective by using learning combined with Islamic values by the teacher.

Abstract

Mathematics is very close to Islamic schools, so students are required to understand and master mathematics in order to optimize their devotion to Allah SWT. Learning in Islamic schools should be carried out in an Islamic manner and students should be able to solve mathematical problems. For this reason, Islamic integrated mathematical problem solving questions are needed in learning. This research aims to determine students' mathematics problem solving abilities (KPM) in solving Islamic integrated mathematics problems in class IV.B SDIT Haji Djalaluddin. The type of research used is descriptive research carried out using a quantitative approach. The subjects in this research were all class IV.B students at SDIT Haji Djalaluddin. The data collection used by researchers during research is by using test questions. The instrument used in this research is the Islamic Integrated Mathematics KPM test questions. Based on the KPM test, students in working on integrated Islamic mathematics questions in answering 3 problem solving questions can be seen in the form of a percentage for each question, namely for question number 1 it is 66.80% with good criteria, for question number 2 it is 54% with sufficient criteria. , for question number 3 it is 52.80% with less criteria.
