Abstract

Black tea from Camellia sinensis has been a highly popular beverage in Indonesia since the 17th century. Various types of Camellia sinensis tea include white tea, green tea, oolong tea, and black tea. Each type of tea has a distinct antioxidant profile, with black tea containing the highest caffeine content. All types of tea are rich in antioxidants like polyphenols, which play a crucial role in protecting the body from free radicals and reducing the risk of various diseases such as Alzheimer's, diabetes, stroke, hypertension, obesity, cancer, and have antibacterial properties while also serving as an anti-aging treatment for the skin. From an Islamic perspective, the Quran contains numerous verses that command humans to observe and study Allah's creations. This underscores the belief that nothing Allah has created is without purpose, implying that every creation has significant benefits. The consumption of black tea aligns with the principle of maintaining physical health as a form of spiritual responsibility, as also instructed in the Quran. The integration of scientific approaches with religious values elevates black tea beyond merely a beverage enjoyed for its taste, tradition, and health benefits, making it a part of a holistic healthy lifestyle. Utilizing tea production technology and advancing research to uncover the benefits of black tea is a way of expressing gratitude and is considered an act of worship, as its development adheres to the principle of benefiting others.

Abstract

The identification of conceptual metaphors of gender issues in the national media using corpus linguistic analysis has constructed a discourse based on the correlation between experience and linguistic feature phenomena. This research identifies and reveals three conceptual metaphors based on word frequency, collocation, and concordance. A combined method with an explanatory sequential design was used by collecting Koran Sindo news in 2022–2023 that represented gender issues; there were 210 news articles with 71,920 words. Data collection techniques are documentation, listening, and note-taking using data analysis in AntConc and interactive models. The results of this study are as follows: first, the highest frequency of words is significantly found in the words 'korban' and 'perempuan.' Secondly, collocations have a contradictory tendency to present gender issues. Third, concordance produces identifying forms of conceptual metaphors, such as: a) 4 structural metaphors, conceptually meaning sexual coercion, rape, provider power, and necessity; b) 2 orientational metaphors have conceptual meanings, such as urgency and period; c) 3 ontological metaphors with conceptual meanings include deterioration, qualification, and capacity. This research contributes to exploring cognitive semantic prosody through the phenomenon of lexical and linguistic features.

Abstract

This research aims to expose different ways of using technology in Arabic language teaching, assess the effectiveness of technology in improving students' language skills, and discover the obstacles and supporting elements of using technology. The ultimate goal of this research is to provide practical suggestions on using technological innovations to improve the quality of Arabic language learning. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach. This study applies a qualitative approach with a multisite type to explore the process of technology integration in Arabic language teaching in various educational institutions. Through data collection techniques such as interviews, observations, and documentation in several locations, this research seeks to uncover patterns of implementation, obstacles faced, and effective strategies that support the success of technology integration in contextualized Arabic language learning. The data is collected through classroom observations, interviews with Arabic teachers, and documentation studies on using digital learning media. Data analysis in this study was conducted qualitatively with a multisite approach, starting from the data reduction process by selecting important information from interviews, observations, and documentation in several educational institutions. The results show that learning videos, digital dictionary apps, online quizzes, and language learning platforms such as Google Classroom and Duolingo significantly increase student participation. However, unequal technology infrastructure and limited training for teachers become major problems. It is proven that using technology in Arabic language teaching increases learning effectiveness and interactivity. However, implementation relies heavily on well-prepared teachers, available infrastructure, and institutional policy support. For these innovations to be successful and sustainable, educators and technology developers must work together.

Abstract

The increasing shrimp production and consumption in Indonesia generates significant amounts of shrimp shell waste, which has not been optimally utilized and often becomes an environmental problem. This waste is rich in chitin, which can be processed into chitosan—a multifunctional biopolymer with various applications in food, health, agriculture, and environmental fields. This literature review explores the synthesis process, characterization, and utilization of chitosan derived from shrimp shell waste, while highlighting the importance of integrating Islamic ethical values in the sustainable management of natural resources. The synthesis of chitosan involves demineralization, deproteinization, and deacetylation steps, with critical parameters such as temperature, time, and base concentration affecting the degree of deacetylation. The review shows that utilizing shrimp shell waste as a source of chitosan not only supports circular economy principles and waste reduction but also aligns with Islamic teachings on responsible environmental stewardship. The integration of science and Islamic ethics is expected to promote the development of high-value, sustainable, and environmentally friendly biomaterials.

Abstract

Understanding how the human brain processes language has been a long-standing challenge in neuroscience and cognitive science. Recent advancements in artificial intelligence (AI), particularly in neural networks, have opened new avenues for investigating the representation of language in the brain. This study explores the relationship between semantic and syntactic representations in neural models and human brain activity. By comparing how deep learning models and the human brain process linguistic structures, this research seeks to bridge the gap between computational models and biological systems. The research aims to analyze the similarities and differences in how neural models and the human brain represent syntactic and semantic information. Using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) data from brain activity during language processing tasks, and applying AI models trained on large language datasets, this study investigates the neural correlates of syntax and semantics. The results show that certain regions of the brain correspond to the syntactic structures processed by AI models, while others align more closely with semantic representations. The neural network models exhibited high correspondence with brain activity patterns, particularly in tasks involving sentence structure and meaning comprehension. This study concludes that AI models can be used to enhance our understanding of how language is represented in the brain, offering valuable insights into both neuroscience and artificial intelligence.

Abstract

The utilization of technology in the field of education is rapidly advancing, including for foreign language learning such as Arabic. One of the tools currently employed is Mentimeter, an interactive platform that enables educators to create real-time tests and assessments. The aim of this article was to explore students' perceptions regarding the use of Mentimeter as a formative assessment tool to enhance their understanding of Arabic texts. This research employed a quantitative descriptive method with an evaluative basis. Data collection involved surveys using Likert scales. The study participants consisted of 80 Psychology students who are engaged in intensive Arabic language learning. Data analysis indicated that the majority of students respond positively to the use of Mentimeter as a formative assessment tool. They expressed that employing Mentimeter results in greater learning motivation and enhances their comprehension of Arabic texts. These findings contributed to understanding the effectiveness of Mentimeter in the context of Arabic language learning at the student level and underscore the importance of integrating technology in innovative learning practices.
