Abstract

Pressing chili cups greatly affects the quality and has an impact on the kemplang produced. The process of pressing the chili paste is still done manually, which is wrapped in plastic, then put into a container of chili kemplang. As a result, the kemplang could not last long. This study aims to determine the setting of temperature and time variables, as well as the percentage of the contribution of temperature and time variables that affect the pressing of chili cups using aluminum foil lid.  The research method used is referring to factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with two variables. The first variable is temperature which consists of 3 levels, namely: 100 ° C, 150 ° C and 200 ° C. The second variable is the length of time holding which consists of 3 seconds, 4 seconds and 5 seconds. The treatment in this study was the result of a combination of variables from all levels of treatment, using the L9 Orthogonal Matrix (32). To avoid noise, each combination of variables was replicated 2 (two) times. The results showed that the best chili cup pressing variable setting was at a temperature of 150 ° C and a pressing time of 4 seconds, making the cups stick and close properly without any leakage. The largest percentage contribution from the influencing variable is temperature, amounting to 90.757%.

Abstract

Induction motors have a problem that is very detrimental to the system, namely their high starting current when turned on directly. Efforts to reduce the large initial currents required a soft starting method. Soft Starting aims to get a low starting current and a smoother motor rotation. The Soft Starting method will regulate the voltage and current into the induction motor by providing a triggering angle on the TRIAC which is regulated by the Arduino platform by applying the Fuzzy Logic control system. This Fuzzy Logic method uses one input "time" and one "dimmer" output. The results of the design of a soft starting on a single phase induction motor, which can flow the voltage and current gradually, so that it can overcome the problem of a current surge of 1.58A to 0.065A at the initial starting of the induction motor, and produce controlled motor rotation with 7 seconds to achieve, the speed of boarding at Soft Starting is set to 10 to 15 seconds. The use of Fuzzy Logic control can accelerate the Soft Starting process, so that the voltage and current can reach their nominal value 1 to 2 seconds faster than without using Fuzzy Logic control.

Abstract

This research was conducted to obtain data on mechanical ability in the form of tensile strength, impact strength and physical shape of 8 types of banana tree fibers using polyester matrix BQTN 157 with a volume fraction of 85%:15% made by hand lay-up method. The highest tensile voltage of composite fiber-based banana tree fibers random fiber arrangement is in the type of banana kepok with a volume fraction of 85% : 15% of 26.5 Mpa. And for the highest impact strength is on the type of banana kepok of 28.77 Kj/mm². As for the lowest tensile voltage reinforced fiber banana tree arrangement randomly that is on the type of banana honey with a volume fraction of 85% : 15% of 12.18 Mpa. And for the lowest impact force is in the banana type crew with a volume fraction of 85% : 15% of 15.13 Kj/mm²

Abstract

Minimum surface roughness is the desired goal in the MORI SEIKI MV-40M CNC machining process with the right machining process parameters in order to obtain a minimum workpiece surface roughness response. The results of the study indicate that to reduce the variation of the response simultaneously. To obtain minimum workpiece surface roughness on AISI 1045 steel with a variation of 0.18 mm infeed depth parameter (factor A level 1), feed rate 60 mm/min (factor B level 1 and spindle rotation 800 RPM (factor C level 2) with a The resulting roughness is 1,169 m.

Abstract

Technological developments in the agricultural sector can use the DFT hydroponic system. But this hydroponic system uses a lot of electrical energy, this is due to the use of a pump for 24 hours. One way to increase electrical energy efficiency is to combine two energy sources, namely PLN and PLTS, which is called a hybrid system. The purpose of this tool is to obtain the results of an efficiency comparison analysis between PLN and PLTS (hybrid) by displaying the power usage and costs of the system. In this tool, what is done is to make a control system, monitor battery charging and battery discharge by voltage sensors and current sensors controlled by Arduino ATmega 2560 and monitoring power usage on AC pumps by Pzem sensors. In this study the hybrid system from PLTS will switch to PLN automatically when the battery is under 11.7 V voltage and will change to from PLN to PLTS when the battery voltage has reached 13 V. The results of the data from this hybrid system obtained a power efficiency of 42.96% PLN usage per day (24 hours). From the comparison of the PLN system with a hybrid system that uses an AC pump, a cost efficiency savings of IDR 213.6 rupiah is obtained for one day use. Abstract

The pineapple plant is one of the most prominent plants in Indonesia, the value of the pineapple leaf could be said to have no sell or be called a waste. The use of composite materials with natural fiber filtering is growing. Composites are materials made up of two or more different materials. In this study used epoxy particle composites with doubles of the hollow glass microsphere and fibers of the pineapple leaves. In this research conducted a 3 thickness test of 10 mm, 15 mm, and 20 mm. The test results were obtained that projectile-pierced specimens with depth damage after penetrating the succeeding specimens of 58 mm, 10 mm and 4 mm. From the results is obtained, specimens were not safe to use because according the criteria for failure of bulletproof vest from the aspect of penetration is penetration should not exceed from thick vest or can be said sould not a translucent.

Abstract

The frequent use of three-phase induction motors in the factory continuously can cause the motor to experience disturbances. One of them is a short circuit current that causes a decrease in motor speed and increases the motor temperature. To overcome this problem, a protection system is designed that protects the motor from short-circuit currents in phase-neutral. The protection system is designed using the ACS712 30A sensor as a short-circuit current reader with a minimum reading of 2A and a maximum of 25A. When a short circuit occurs, the SSR 25DA will disconnect the source from the mains circuit. The results of the demonstration, the short-circuit current measurement values ​​are 3.20A and 2.22A with 56Ω and 68 resistance. The short-circuit current with a resistance of 1.5Ω is not read by the ACS712 sensor due to overload, therefore the short-circuit current value obtained from the calculation is 146.7A. From the demonstration, it can be concluded that the resistance on the resistor affects the short circuit current value that is read. This is justified by Ohm's Law which reads that the electric current in an electric load is directly proportional to the voltage and inversely proportional to the resistance.

Abstract

In the industrial technology of cassava processing in Bangka Belitung, for now the level of productivity and efficiency of its performance can be said to be still minimal. This is because there is no supporting technology to measure the value of sweet potato starch levels digitally and efficiently. In this final project, a tool is designed to measure the starch content of cassava digitally based on SMS using the method specify gravity. The way this tool works is by measuring the mass of cassava in the air and in water using a driving medium in the form of a DC motor gearbox to raise and lower the cassava. Meanwhile, the sensor loadcell  and HX711 are used for converting analog to digital data. The percentage of error obtained between the comparison of the weight value read on the sensor and the digital hanging scale is 0.282% and the result of the measuring instrument is able to measure starch content with a capacity of    with an error of 2.45%. The measurement data can be sent via the SMS feature using the SIM800L V2 module with an average delivery speed of 7.12 seconds.

Abstract

Rapid prototyping technology, especially in three-dimensional printing, has been successfully used in many aspects. One of the rapid prototyping technologies that are often found in the market today is the type of FDM technology. FDM is a 3D printing technique for printing products using filament as a material. The filament used is food grade Polylactic Acid (PLA). This study aims to obtain optimal parameters to produce FDM printed objects in terms of tensile strength. The method used in the process of optimizing the parameters of this process is the Taguchi method L9 (33) OA. The process parameters used in this research are Temperature Nozzle, Layer Height, and Print Speed. The results showed that the optimal process parameter values ​​for tensile tests using food grade PLA filaments were Temperature Nozzle (210°C), Layer Height (0.1 mm) and Print Speed ​​(65 mm/s).

Abstract

This study aims to obtain the required hardness values as a result of the heat treatment process with the addition of carbon powder, anthracite, and wood charcoal followed by rapid delayan and examine the effect of rapid cooling with variations in cooling and the addition of carbon powder, wood charcoal, and anthracite. The materials used in this study were ST.60 steel in the form of selinders, then anthracite media, wood charcoal and carbon powder. Specimens are treated with heat treatment with a temperature of 600°C - 900°C with a containment time of 30 minutes-90 minutes. Then done quenching with sea water cooling media, plain water, ice water and oil. After that, a three-point hardness test was conducted on the surface of the specimen and the test was conducted with Hardness Testing Machines Limited hardness test equipment with Type 8150 LK (United Kingdom). And the method performed is Complete Random Design. From the test results were obtained the required hardness value is in the active karbn media 63.06 HRC by using ice water cooling media and followed by wood charcoal with a hardness value of 54.33 HRC with sea water cooling media while anthracite media hardness value of 52.76 HRC with sea water cooling media. High hardness values are affected by low cooling viscosity and small carbonated material dimensi.
