Abstract

An Arduino Uno-based Automatic Organic Fertilizer Making Tool has been developed to transform household organic waste into organic fertilizer automatically. The tool utilizes Arduino Uno technology, incorporating sensors like the pH sensor and DHT22 sensor to monitor acidity, temperature, and humidity levels during the fertilizer-making process. It systematically processes organic waste through automation, controlling composting parameters in real-time for optimal decomposition and high-quality fertilizer production. The user-friendly system includes a stirrer and humidity control mechanism, along with an LCD screen for monitoring compost conditions. By effectively integrating sensor technology, the tool enhances productivity in organic waste processing and offers a practical solution for converting household waste into beneficial products. This innovation supports environmental preservation and resource utilization efforts in the community.

Abstract

Learning media plays a crucial role as a tool in creating an effective teaching and learning process. This final project aims to develop an instructional medium for split AC systems, including the creation of maintenance and installation procedures as teaching and training materials. This educational medium incorporates practical elements, offering both theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience in understanding split AC systems. The teaching method will involve a combination of practice and theory, covering maintenance methods, installation techniques, and disassembly procedures for split AC systems, supported by a syllabus, maintenance modules, installation modules, and disassembly modules. It is expected that this learning media will enable students to master split AC maintenance and installation methods. The implementation of this split AC instructional media has resulted in a 51% improvement in student comprehension, indicating a significant increase in their knowledge. With the enhanced knowledge and skills, students will have better career advancement opportunities in the HVAC industry.

Abstract

In traditional PCB layout creation, copper solvent materials like ferric chloride are commonly used along with other processes. This final project focuses on developing a PCB (Printed Circuit Board) milling machine. The machine is designed to engrave electronic circuit layouts onto PCB boards using a CNC (Computer Numerical Control) system. The CNC machine facilitates the precise engraving of circuit layouts on PCB boards. The development of this machine involves several stages, including the design process, hardware assembly, and mechanical system assembly. The machine's control system is operated using an Arduino Mega and RAMPS 1.4, which manage the machine's movements. The machine is equipped with three stepper motors, named Nema 17, which drive the machine along three axes: X, Y, and Z. The CNC machine utilizes a single lip cutter as the engraving tool on the PCB, positioned along the Z-axis. Based on the test results for a 10 mm movement on the X, Y, and Z axes, the average movement deviation was found to be 10.23 mm for the X-axis, 10.59 mm for the Y-axis, and 10.45 mm for the Z-axis.

Abstract

Qibla direction guide stick specially designed for blind people. This stick is equipped with HC SR04 Ultrasonic Sensor to detect surrounding objects, HMC5883L Compass Sensor to determine the Qibla direction, and a control system that uses Arduino Uno as the programming brain. The development method involves the design and integration stages of these sensors, as well as the development to process sensor data to produce qibla direction information. The results show that this qibla direction guide stick can be used effectively, providing timely and accurate feedback to the user. Thus, the development of this technology has great potential to improve the independence and quality of life of blind people in their religious practices. This study makes an important contribution in the field of technology expanding the possibilities for blind people to participate fully in religious activities.

Abstract

Surface defects of the workpiece and the emergence of sparks that suddenly enlarge during the flat grinding process cause a decrease in product quality and create unsafe working conditions. This study aims to identify the causes of surface defects of the workpiece on a flat grinding machine in the Polmanbabel advanced machining laboratory. Identification of the cause of damage using the five why analysis method. The study was preceded by defining the problem and then asking the question "why" to the problem and for each answer given approximately five times. To help answer each "why" question, an analysis of the system's working mechanism and a physical examination of the parts or components connected to the Wheelhead were carried out. The results of the study found that the root cause of the occurrence of defects on the surface of the workpiece and the phenomenon of sparks that sometimes enlarge suddenly and during the grinding process of the flat grinding machine was the destruction of the rubber components of the motor and spindle clutch. This case study also proves that the five’s why method can effectively identify the root cause of damage to the flat grinding machine.

Abstract

The mechanical workshop laboratory of Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic has various machine tools, including a DoAll lathe that has been used for 29 years and has various damages, especially to the braking system. The damage to the braking system is caused by the age of the machine and the difficulty of obtaining original spare parts, resulting in constraints in maintenance and malfunction of the braking system. Braking is a crucial aspect in lathe operation to prevent work accidents and machine damage, and is important in practicum activities, especially in thread making. This research uses the experimental design method by modifying the braking system of the DoAll lathe using the braking system of a motor vehicle (motor/car) to facilitate the replacement of parts. The purpose of this final project is to modify the braking system of the DoAll lathe so that it can return to optimal operation. Based on the function test results, the braking system modification using the Daihatsu Taft F70 car braking system is proven to work well and is able to brake without damage.

Abstract

In the production process, maintenance has an important role to ensure the smooth running of the production process. This machine maintenance scheduling discusses the process of restoring the initial condition (reconditioning) of the DoALL LT.13 lathe by focusing on repairs to the automatic system, non-functioning thread system and geometric testing. The method applied to overcome this problem is the observation method (5 whys). Stages Reconditioning starts from collecting initial damage data obtained from machine inspection, then continues with analyzing the damage, and taking corrective action based on the results of the analysis. Function testing methods, geometric testing, machine performance tests are carried out to see whether the reconditioning objectives have been achieved. Based on the test results after reconditioning, the data obtained by the automatic system function, the threaded system returns to normal, the average geometric deviation value is still within tolerance based on ISO standards. 1708 and machine performance tests resulting from turning workpieces are still considered normal based on the ISO 10816 standard.

Abstract

Every time a water pump breaks down on the Polmanbabel Campus, it disrupts the smooth operation and service to employees and students. This project aims to design pump maintenance on the Polmanbabel campus using a condition-based monitoring (CBM) method. The project implementation method is carried out by identifying equipment, selecting condition parameters to be monitored, designing monitoring cards, and testing. The test results show that the monitored pump condition parameters consist of temperature, vibration, pressure, monitoring card instruments can be applied effectively to monitor pump operating conditions.
