Abstract

Employee performance is an important factor in supporting the quality of health services at Community Health Centers (Puskesmas). One organizational factor suspected of influencing employee performance is leadership style. This study aims to analyze the influence of various leadership styles on employee performance at the Bangkalan Community Health Center. This study used a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design through a survey method. The study was conducted in April 2024 at the Bangkalan Community Health Center, Bangkalan Regency, with 80 employees selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected using a Likert scale questionnaire and analyzed using multiple linear regression with the help of IBM SPSS software. The independent variables in this study include transformational, transactional, situational, democratic, authoritarian, laissez-faire, and digital leadership styles, while the dependent variable is employee performance. The results showed that partially the authoritarian leadership style had a p-value of 0.013 with a t-count of 2.559 on employee performance. Thus, the authoritarian leadership style has a significant positive effect on employee performance. Meanwhile, transformational, transactional, situational, democratic, laissez-faire, and digital leadership styles failed to answer the hypothesis. These findings indicate that, in the context of Community Health Centers (Puskesmas) as public health service organizations, a leadership style that emphasizes clear direction, supervision, and adherence to operational standards plays a greater role in improving employee performance than other leadership styles. This research is expected to provide considerations in human resource management at Puskesmas.

Abstract

Lack of knowledge of adolescents about sex education so that adolescents ignore and consider sexual harassment trivial. Not a few victims of sexual harassment experience prolonged trauma such as disturbed adolescent psychology, feeling ashamed, not confident, reluctant to participate in social activities at school and in the community, even the desire or attempted suicide. The purpose of this study was to determine the influence of adolescents' knowledge about sex education on sexual harassment of adolescents at Junior High School 2 City Of Kediri. The design of this study is a correlational study with a cross-sectional approach. Respondents were taken using proportional random sampling technique. The population was 65 people with a sample of 56 people. The statistical test used chi square. The results of the study showed that knowledge about sex education in adolescents was known by almost all respondents as many as 46 (82.1%) in the good category. Sexual harassment in adolescents was known by almost all respondents as many as 53 (94.6%) in the category of no sexual harassment. The results of the data analysis show that the level of significance is 0.000 <α = 0.05 so that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, thus there is an influence of adolescents' knowledge about sex education on sexual harassment of adolescents. The better the knowledge of adolescents about sex education, the more adolescents will avoid sexual harassment. Health workers, teachers and parents will always provide information to adolescents so as to increase their knowledge about sex education.

Abstract

The success of a hospital is largely determined by the knowledge, attitudes, skills, abilities, creativity, and motivation of its staff. One measure of the quality of care is the performance of nurses and other healthcare workers, as measured by the hospital's service quality indicators. A decline in nurse performance significantly impacts a hospital's image in the community. Poor nursing care leads to a lack of public trust in the hospital's capabilities. This study aims to determine factors related to nurse performance at Tidore Islands City Hospital. This study was a quantitative descriptive study using a cross-sectional approach. The sample size was 70, and simple random sampling was used using inclusion and exclusion criteria. The independent variables in this study were workload, rewards/compensation, and motivation. The dependent variable was nurse performance. The results showed a relationship between workload and nurse performance (p = 0.037). There was a relationship between rewards/compensation and nurse performance (p = 0.001). There was a relationship between motivation and nurse performance (p = 0.014). A workload that is too heavy or too light can reduce overall nurse performance. Therefore, a heavy workload must be balanced with fair compensation to maintain high work motivation for every nurse in the hospital.

Abstract

In Indonesia, there are still radiographers whose performance is not good and has not met the targets set by the hospital. The poor performance of radiographers is partly caused by various complaints of Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs), workload, and work fatigue, which affect the health and performance of radiographers. This can certainly cause dissatisfaction with the services provided and can reduce the trust of patients and their families. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of complaints of Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs), workload, and work fatigue on the performance of radiographers in Kediri. The type of research used was quantitative observational analytical research. The research design used was a cross-sectional study. The population in this study were all radiographers who were members of PARI in Kediri, totaling 150 people. The sample size in this study was 108 radiographers who were members of PARI Kediri using the simple random sampling technique based on the Krejcie & Morgan table. The dependent variable in this study was performance, while the independent variables were complaints of Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs), workload, and work fatigue. The instrument in this study used a questionnaire sheet. Data analysis used multiple linear regression analysis. From the results of the study that have been explained above, it can be stated that the variables of Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs), workload, and work fatigue together have a significant effect on performance with a sig. p value > 0.05. It is hoped that hospital management can continue to improve the performance of radiographers in the radiology installation. Radiographers must always pay attention to their health and maintain a healthy lifestyle to avoid work fatigue and varioushealth problems such as Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs). Abstract

Patients who have been diagnosed with kidney failure must undergo hemodialysis routinely throughout their lives obediently which has an impact on the patient's quality of life. In patients with CKD, it is often recommended to regulate their diet in order to support improving their quality of life. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between dietary compliance and the quality of life of CKD patients undergoing hemodialysis therapy in the Hemodialysis Room of RSD Kertosono. The design in the correlation study with a cross-sectional approach. Technique sampling use Purposive Sampling and a sample 35 patients with CKD undergoing hemodialysis. Measurement of the independent variable, namely dietary compliance with a questionnaire and the dependent variable, namely quality of life with the WHOQoL-BREF questionnaire. Statistical tests using spearman rank (α = 0.05). The results of this study found that most of the dietary compliance was in the non-compliant category, as many as 21 respondents (60%) and almost half of the quality of life was in the poor quality of life category, as many as 17 respondents (49%). The results of the Spearman rank statistical test obtained ρ value = 0.000 ≤ α (0.05) r = 0,775 a strong positive correlation so that H1 was accepted, which means that there is a relationship between dietary compliance and the quality of life of chronic kidney failure patients undergoing hemodialysis therapy in the Hemodialysis Room of RSD Kertosono. Dietary compliance greatly affects the quality of life in CKD patients undergoing hemodialysis.

Abstract

Patients with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) undergoing hemodialysis require strict adherence to therapy schedules and dietary restrictions to prevent serious complications and improve quality of life. This study aims to identify and analyze various factors that influence therapy and diet adherence in patients undergoing hemodialysis. The study design was a literature review. Data sources were obtained from PubMed, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar, Portal Garuda, SINTA, Google Scholar, and NDT with a publication period of 2017-2026. Of the total of 23 articles identified through a systematic search strategy, 16 articles met the PICOS (Population, Intervention, Comparison, Outcome, Study Design) inclusion criteria and were included in the analysis. The results of the analysis indicate that adherence is a multifactorial phenomenon. The findings revealed that family support and self-efficacy are more consistent determinants than factual knowledge. In addition, there is a shift in intervention trends from traditional educational methods to the use of m-Health technology and digital monitoring, which have been proven effective in improving control of patients' biochemical parameters. Conclusion: The novelty of this review lies in the integration of health behavior theories (Health Belief Model, Social Cognitive Theory, and Theory of Planned Behavior) which provides a holistic framework for adherence management. The main contribution of this study is to offer an adherence management model that combines psychosocial support, participatory education, and digital monitoring as an integrated intervention solution to improve patient clinical outcomes

Abstract

Psychological factors such as fear and anxiety during labor have been increasingly recognized as important determinants influencing labor progression and birth outcomes. These emotional responses can alter neuroendocrine pathways, affecting uterine contractions and overall labor efficiency. Despite growing awareness, psychological determinants are still often under-assessed in routine maternity care, particularly in clinical settings. This study aims to examine the relationship between maternal fear and anxiety with labor progress and birth outcomes. A quasi-experimental study was conducted involving 60 primigravida women in the active phase of labor. Anxiety levels were measured using the Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HAM-A), while labor progress was assessed using partograph monitoring. Data were analyzed using independent t-test. Mothers with lower anxiety levels demonstrated significantly faster labor progress (p < 0.001) and fewer interventions compared to those with higher anxiety levels. High anxiety was associated with prolonged labor duration and increased pain perception. Fear and anxiety significantly influence labor progress and outcomes. Addressing psychological well-being should be an essential component of maternity care.

Abstract

Many studies have shown that education can improve adolescents' knowledge about sexual violence prevention. However, most studies have used traditional methods such as lectures, discussions, or printed materials. The use of game-based learning methods such as the Good Behavior Game (GBG) to improve knowledge about sexual violence has received limited attention, especially among junior high school students. Therefore, further research is needed to determine whether GBG is effective in increasing adolescents' knowledge about sexual violence. This study aims to determine the effect of the educational media GBG on the level of knowledge about sexual violence in adolescents. This study used a pre- experimental design with a one-group pretest–posttest approach. Ninety-one students in grades VII, VIII, and IX of SMP Negeri 9, Kediri City, were selected using a purposive sampling technique. The research instrument was a questionnaire on the level of knowledge about sexual violence. Data were analyzed descriptively and inferentially using the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test with a significance level of α = 0.05. The results showed that before the education, most respondents had a low level of knowledge about sexual violence (61.5%). After education using GBG, most respondents improved to a good level (93.4%). The Wilcoxon test showed a significant difference between the levels of knowledge before and after the intervention (p = 0.000 < 0.05). GBG educational media has been effective in increasing adolescents' knowledge about sexual violence because it uses an interactive, participatory, and group-based learning approach that can increase student engagement, attention, and understanding of the material more effectively than conventional educational methods.

Abstract

Pneumonia is one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality in humans, often accompanied by ineffective airway clearance due to secretion accumulation. Chest physiotherapy and nebulizer therapy are essential nursing interventions to facilitate secretion clearance and maintain airway patency in such conditions. Objective: This study aims to comprehensively describe the implementation of chest physiotherapy and nebulizer therapy in pneumonia patients with ineffective airway clearance. Methods: This case study involved two pediatric patients aged 50 years with a medical diagnosis of pneumonia who were admitted to the Graha Mandiri Ward, 3rd Floor. Data collection was conducted through assessment, intervention, nursing implementation over three days, and evaluation using observation and documentation techniques. Results: The patients presented with primary complaints of shortness of breath, cough, and runny nose, accompanied by physical findings such as tachypnea, intercostal retractions, and crackles in the lungs. The established nursing diagnosis was ineffective airway clearance. Chest physiotherapy and nebulizer therapy were implemented according to standard procedures. Evaluation showed that the implementation of chest physiotherapy and nebulizer therapy successfully facilitated secretion clearance and improved the patient’s airway clearance, as evidenced by reduced shortness of breath and decreased abnormal breath sounds. Conclusion: The implementation of chest physiotherapy and nebulizer therapy is effective in addressing the issue of ineffective airway clearance in patients with pneumonia. It is recommended that nurses optimize education for families regarding the importance and procedures of chest physiotherapy and nebulizer therapy, as well as environmental factors that affect respiratory health

Abstract

Falls in older adults are a major public health problem associated with increased morbidity, disability, decreased quality of life, and healthcare burden. Community-based exercise interventions have been widely implemented to reduce fall risk among older adults living in the community. This systematic review aimed to analyze the effectiveness of community-based exercise interventions in preventing falls among older adults. The review was conducted following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) 2020 guidelines. Literature searches were performed in PubMed, Scopus, ScienceDirect, ProQuest, and CINAHL databases for articles published between 2019 and 2024. Inclusion criteria included primary studies with randomized controlled trial or quasi-experimental designs involving community-dwelling older adults receiving exercise-based interventions. Six studies met the inclusion criteria and were analyzed using narrative synthesis. The interventions included Lifestyle-integrated Functional Exercise (LiFE), Tai Chi-based exercise, multicomponent exercise, balance training, and home safety intervention. The findings showed that community-based exercise interventions effectively reduced fall risk, improved balance, mobility, physical activity, and decreased fear of falling among older adults. Multifactorial interventions combining exercise, education, and home safety assessment demonstrated more optimal outcomes than single interventions. Community-based exercise programs can be considered effective promotive and preventive strategies for fall prevention in older adults.
