The Indonesian Journal of Multidisciplinary Research aims to represent and publish research in various disciplines submitted by practitioners from research institutions derived from the research of students, lecturers, and other practitioners. This includes studies and reviews conducted by multidisciplinary teams (combining or involving several disciplines or professional specializations) as well as research that evaluates or reports on the results or implementation of such teams or the research process in general. The journal covers a very wide range of fields and we welcome submissions from practitioners in management, education and technology. The Indonesian Journal of Multidisciplinary Research is not limited by person, place, or time and this journal aims to reflect that. Jurnal Penelitian Multidisciplinary Indonesia is published as an open access journal to enable a wide range of practical research relevant to readers to be immediately available to practitioners who can access and use it soon after publication. The journal is a member of and adheres to the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Articles in the Indonesian Journal of Multidisciplinary Research are in Indonesian and English.

Abstract

The increasing number of elderly people in Indonesia demands improved quality of geriatric care, particularly in communication, where empathetic communication plays a key role in building a strong therapeutic relationship between doctors and elderly patients. This study is a literature review that aims to evaluate the effectiveness of empathic language on the quality of therapeutic relationships in the context of geriatric services. Articles were selected through an identification and screening process using specific keywords in databases such as Sinta, Neliti, Garuda, and Google Scholar, with inclusion criteria that include studies in the last 10 years, in Indonesian or English, full-text, and are primary research. The results show that empathic communication through cognitive and affective empathy plays a significant role in increasing patient trust, adherence to treatment, and clinical and psychosocial outcomes, such as decreased anxiety and increased quality of life. Communication strategies include the use of simple language, personal attention, and consistent emotional engagement. Implementation barriers include high workload and a lack of training. Empathy training in medical curriculum, the development of patient-centered communication guidelines, and the holistic implementation of the Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment (CGA) are essential.

Abstract

The use of digital learning technologies in higher education remains limited, including the adoption of VoiceThread as a collaborative platform. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of an eBook compared to a webinar as pedagogical support for faculty. Using an action research approach with a quasi-experimental design, two groups of faculty participated: one using an eBook and the other attending a webinar. Data were collected through a survey based on the Decomposed Theory of Planned Behavior (DTPB) and analyzed using independent-samples t-tests along with content analysis. Results indicated no significant difference between the groups in pedagogical perceptions of VoiceThread. However, the eBook was valued for its flexibility, accessibility, and support for self-directed learning, while the webinar was appreciated for providing real-time interaction. The findings suggest that content quality outweighs delivery format, and eBooks can serve as an innovative alternative, though complemented by collaborative strategies for sustainable adoption.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara gaya manajemen konflik, kecerdasan emosional, dan gaya kepemimpinan dosen terhadap kualitas pendidikan tinggi sebagaimana dipersepsikan oleh mahasiswa. Penelitian menggunakan desain kuantitatif korelasional dengan melibatkan 77 dosen dan 351 mahasiswa dari lima universitas di Provinsi Riau melalui website https://researcher.populix.co. Data dikumpulkan melalui instrumen standar, yaitu ROCI-II, Emotional Competence Inventory, Leadership Style Survey, SERVQUAL, dan SEEQ, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif, korelasi Pearson, dan regresi berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kecerdasan emosional (β = 0.33), gaya kepemimpinan (β = 0.27), dan manajemen konflik (β = 0.21) berkontribusi signifikan terhadap kualitas pendidikan, dengan R² = 0.58, di mana kecerdasan emosional terbukti sebagai prediktor dominan. Namun, penelitian ini memiliki keterbatasan karena hanya mencakup program Administrasi Bisnis di Riau dengan desain korelasional, sehingga generalisasi temuan masih perlu diuji pada disiplin ilmu dan konteks internasional yang lebih luas.
