Jurnal INFOTEL is a scientific journal published by Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian Masyarakat (LPPM) of Institut Teknologi Telkom Purwokerto, Indonesia. Jurnal INFOTEL covers the field of informatics, telecommunication, and electronics. First published in 2009 for a printed version and published online in 2012. The aims of Jurnal INFOTEL are to disseminate research results and to improve the productivity of scientific publications. Jurnal INFOTEL is published quarterly in February, May, August, and November. Starting in 2018, Jurnal INFOTEL uses English as the primary language.

Kasus pencurian di rumah kosong yang ditinggal pergi oleh pemiliknya belakangan ini marak terjadi. Berangkat dari pemikiran ini penulis mencoba merancang alarm yang dapat mendeteksi pergerakan seseorang saat rumah dalam kondisi kosong, ditinggalkan oleh pemiliknya. Alat ini mempunyai prinsip kerja yaitu mendeteksi bayangan seseorang yang melewati titik tertentu. Perancangan dan pembuatan perangkat ini menggunakan sensor cahaya berupa LASER dan LDR yang dirangkai dengan transistor sebagai saklar otomatis serta LED dan telepon rumah untuk melakukan panggilan kepada nomor telepon pemilik rumah. Komponen yang dipakai dalam pembuatan perangkat ini antara lain IC LM7805, LASER pointer, resistor, transistor BC108, LED, relay dan telepon rumah. Perancangan dan pembuatan alat menggunakan software multisim 10.1 sebagai simulator rangkaian, dan software eagle 5.1.1 untuk mendesain jalur rangkaian pada papan PCB. Saat cahaya LASER tidak sampai ke LDR karena terhalang oleh sesuatu, maka rangkaian output yang berupa indikator LED dan panggilan dari telepon rumah akan aktif

At present the need for higher internet connection along with the age which is growing so fast. Then there is the latest breakthrough in telecomunications that is WiMAX technology is a wireless broadband technology reffered the IEEE 802.16 standard. WiMAX technology comes with a network of excellence in aspects of data access speed, wide area coverage and the presence of QoS is can allocate frequencies in accordance with user needs using OFDM technology. WiMAX technology can reach area far as 50 kilometers, also allows user equipment (customer premise equipment or CPE) to get a broadband connection without having a direct path (non line of sight, NLOS) to the base station (BS) and provides a total data rate of up to 75 Mbps. Results of this Final project assumed that the area where will be design is Banyumas district. Port paralel tentunya sudah tidak asing lagi dalam dunia komputer. Hal tersebut disebabkan karena port paralel merupakan sarana komunikasi yang terdapat pada Personal Computer (PC). Dengan memanfaatkan port tersebut, saat ini komputer juga dapat dipergunakan untuk keperluan pengontrolan/pengendalian rangkaian listrik dengan memanfaatkan port paralel (port printer). Port paralel memiliki kecepatan transfer data yang lebih cepat apabila dibandingkan dengan port serial, maka dari itu port paralel lebih banyak dipergunakan untuk pengendalian nyala lampu (LED). Dengan memanfaatkan bantuan software Saraf Listrik versi 1.01, maka port paralel dapat menjadi alternatif baru untuk pengendalian traffic light.

Seiring dengan semakin luasnya penggunaan XML pada berbagai layanan di internet, yang penyebaran informasinya sebagian besar menggunakan infrastruktur jaringan umum, maka mulai muncul permasalahan mengenai kebutuhan akan keamanan data bagi informasi yang terkandung didalam sebuah dokumen XML. Salah satu caranya adalah dengan menggunakan teknologi XML Enc. Pada makalah ini akan dibahas mengenai cara menggunakan XML Enc menggunakan bahasa pemrograman java, khususnya menyandikan dokumen XML (enkripsi), dengan algoritma AES dan Tripple DES untuk menyandikan dokumen XML menggunakan kunci simetrik.

Router very important for computer network. To get the router can buy a router products but can also design your own using personal computers. Mikrotik is one of the router manufacturer that provides products in the form of hardware or software. If you want to pay less to design a router can use operating system Ubuntu. This operating system is open source and provided free of charge by the manufacturer. If you want to design a router with this OS can make use of personal computers are often used in homes or offices. Merging the performance of both types of routers can also be usedto cover the lack of one another. With the proxy on a local network then the use of bandwidth can be saved. Becausethere are several websites cached and stored therein if the same website is accessed by other users, the router transmits only from the proxy to the computerwhich make the request.

A high necesarry data service and bigger network capacity becomes a critical issue in the GSM network. One of the good and bad size parameter reference-quality GSM network can be viewed on the performance parameters MLSLOT Allocation Blocking. The default value for parameter MLSLOT Allocation Blocking are ? 40 % that the network is otherwise well. To overcome these problems it is applied to UMTS technology. The study was conducted to determine how the performance of the 2G PT Indosat Tbk. Before and after the application of technology and how it compares to the performance of UMTS cellular network PT Indosat Tbk. before and after implementation of a UMTS network. In conducting this study the authors to collect the necessary data and did the interview if the supervisor does not know From the research the average value MLSlot Bocking Allocation has decreased, for the first sector decreased on average uplink 0.70% to 0.17% down 0.53%.The average downlink 26.49% to 14.98% down 11.51%. Sector 2 uplink average 0.24% to 0.00% down 0.24%, the average downlink 5.16% to 0.04% down 5.12%, Sector 3 uplink average 0.6% to 0.21% down 0.39%, the average downlink 23.99% to14.98% down 9.01%.

Penitipan kendaraan Terminal Purwokerto menggunakan cara administrasi manual. Program sstem informasi penitipan motor ini dibuat dalam rangka usaha komputerisasi data perparkiran di Terminal Purwokerto. Perancangan sistem informasi penitipan ini metode yang digunakan yaitu menggunakan metode waterfall. Pembuatan sistem informasi penitipan ini menghasilkan 3 user leveling yaitu operator, atasan dan pengguna parkir. Tabel yang dihasilkan sebanyak 3 tabel. Program sistem informasi penitipan ini menggunakan penyimpanan MySQL sebagai database server karena mampu menerima dan mengirimkan data dengan cepat serta dapat menyimpan data penitipan dalam jumlah yang banyak. Pengujian program sistem informasi penitipan ini dimulai dari tahap pengujian sistem, pengujian interface, proses upload ke web hosting dan melakukan pengujian jaringan. Diharapkan sistem informasi penitipan ini dapat dikembangkan dalam segi keamanan dan kelengkapan datanya, tambahan fasilitas backup database dan lebih bagus lagi jika ada penambahan RFID dalam proses output dan input data parkir di penitipan.

In telecommunication systems, the determination of the modulation system is an important method in the process of sending information from transmitter to receiver. In the simulation that is done using QPSK modulation system (Quadrature Phase Shift Keying), 8-QAM (Quadrature Amplitude Modulation), 16-QAM (16-Quadrature Amplitude Modulation) that uses AWGN (Additive White Gaussian Noise) channel in the transmission system uses MATLAB software. The execution of the simulation is aimed to describe how the characteristics of the waveform of each block of the modulator, to add noise in the AWGN channel and demodulator. Performance of modulation system testing is used BER (bit error ratio) method. Looking of the faults of comparison bits results of before and after the transmitted bits by using Monte Carlo simulation model. Testing on this simulation using the input data as much as 10.000 data symbols randomly and the level of Eb/No that is various for each modulation used. Performance results BER with the level of Eb / No at 1 dB of the simulated system modulation on the BER values obtained for QPSK 0.0570, 8-QAM at 0.1085 while the 16-QAM at 0.1582 and then the performance of QPSK modulation is the best. If the Eb / No is increased to 8 dB then the becomes BER QPSK smaller modulation is equal to 0.00035, the 8-QAM BER obtained at 0.0076, while the 16-QAM modulation to be 0.0139

This paper presents the study of implementation and performance in sorting process, using two different algorithms, namely Insertion Sort and Merge Sort. In the first stage, the two algorithms were implemented in C++ language to sort several numbers typed by a user. In the second stage, the source codes for those algorithms were modified to enable sorting randomly generated numbers with the amount as requested by the user. To find out how well they performed in sorting out the data, therefore in the last stage the two algorithms were tested to sort random numbers with predetermined amount ranges and the results were compared. From the experiments performed, merge sort algorithm had shown a better performance, particularly in a large number of data (> 10000). Insertion sort algorithm has the advantage in lower complexity algorithm, notably in the best case condition and since it does not use recursion routines in sorting process, hence it does not require as much storage space or memory as needed by merge sort algorithm.

Teknologi Internet berbasis Wi-Fi dibuat dan dikembangkan di Amerika Serikat yaitu oleh Institute of Electrical and Electronis Engineers (IEEE) yang berdasarkan kelompok standar teknis perangkat bernomor IEEE 802.11. Perangkat Wi-Fi sebenarnya tidak hanya mampu bekerja di jaringan Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN), tetapi juga di jaringan Wireless Metropolitan Area Network (WMAN). Kuantitas pengguna Internet berbasis teknologi Wi-Fi yang semakin meningkat di berbagai belahan dunia, telah mendorong internet service providers (ISP) untuk membangun hotspot yang di berbagai kota-kota besar. Hotspot merupakan suatu tempat dimana tersedianya koneksi jaringan di mana para pemakai dapat melakukan akses Internet dengan cara nirkabel (wireless) tanpa tergantung kepada jaringan fisik. Jangkauan hotspot dapat dimaksimalkan dengan memanfaatkan antena dengan desain khusus sehingga cakupan (coverage) pancaran sinyal lebih luas. Proses pembuatan desain antena dengan media seng yang diaplikasikan untuk hotspot Wi-Fi pada outdoor diawali dengan perhitungan link budget, antara lain gain dan beamwidth dari antena. Proses pengukuran sinyal diukur dengan menggunakan bantuan software NetStumbler.
