Abstract

Students often face challenges in studying science due to the need to independently absorb and process large amounts of knowledge. To address this, developing students' ability to control and monitor their learning independently is essential. This study investigates self-regulation in science learning among middle school students in urban areas through a quantitative survey-based approach. A 27-item self-regulation questionnaire with a 5-point Likert-type response format was administered to 139 students in Jakarta and West Java, with 64% from grade 7 and 36% from grade 8. The questionnaire demonstrated high reliability (Cronbach’s Alpha = 0.995) and validity. Descriptive statistics revealed that 26.62% of students exhibit Very High self-regulation, 58.99% High, and 14.39% Moderate. These findings indicate that urban middle school students possess well-developed self-regulatory abilities, which can significantly enhance their science learning outcomes. This study contributes to the understanding of self-regulation in science education, providing a foundation for educators and policymakers to design targeted strategies that strengthen self-regulated learning. Future research could explore its impact across different educational settings or evaluate interventions to improve specific aspects of self-regulation in science learning.

Abstract

Background The recovery process during the postpartum period is an important aspect for mothers after giving birth, considering the significant physiological and psychological changes. Physiological changes during the postpartum period include changes in the uterus, cervix, vulva and vagina, perineum, as well as the digestive system, urinary system, musculoskeletal system, endocrine system, vital signs, and hematological system. Changes in the uterus during the postpartum period, known as uterine involution, involve the process of returning the uterus to its pre-pregnancy size and shape. Uterine contractions are a crucial element in the uterine involution process; failure of contractions can result in uterine subinvolution or a slowing of the descent of the uterine fundus height (FHH). If subinvolution is not handled properly, this can cause ongoing bleeding to death (Harianto et al., 2018). The main cause of maternal death in Indonesia is bleeding, which reaches 30.3%. The normal uterine involution process can reduce the risk of bleeding, especially postpartum hemorrhage which is one of the direct causes of maternal death. Several factors that influence uterine involution include early maternal mobilization after delivery, breastfeeding, nutritional status, age, parity, postpartum exercise, psychological conditions, and early initiation of breastfeeding. (Maryunani, 2017). This study aims to determine the Relationship between Early Initiation of Breastfeeding (IMD) and Uterine Involution in Postpartum Mothers at PMB Irma Ahmad Indrajaya in 2024. This study is analytical with a Cross-sectional approach. The population in this study were all Postpartum Mothers at PMB Irma Ahmad, the study was conducted from November. Relationship between Early Initiation of Breastfeeding (IMD) and Uterine Involution in Postpartum Mothers at Irma Ahmad Midwifery Practice Indrajaya in 2024 with a ρ value of 0.003. It is hoped that midwives can provide IEC during pregnancy to postpartum and guidance to mothers in labor to increase knowledge about early initiation of breastfeeding because knowledge of early initiation of breastfeeding will increase the implementation of IMD practices Keywords: Early initiation of breastfeeding, Uterine involution

Abstract

Background: The leading causes of maternal and infant mortality are complications during childbirth, such as hemorrhage and prolonged labor. The WHO recorded 69,000 cases of prolonged labor worldwide in 2020, contributing to 2.8% of maternal deaths globally and becoming a major cause of childbirth complications. The position during pushing is one of the determining factors for the success of labor. The semi-sitting position can provide comfort to the mother by helping her rest between contractions, shortening the birth canal, ensuring optimal oxygen supply from the mother to the baby, and utilizing gravity to assist in the baby's delivery process. Research Objective: To determine the effect of the semi-sitting position on the progress of second-stage labor in mothers delivering at Jamaliah Midwifery Clinic, Pidie Regency. Research Method: This research is an analytic survey with a cross-sectional approach. The population in this study consisted of all mothers delivering at Jamaliah Midwifery Clinic in November 2024, totaling 33 individuals. The research was in November 2024. Research Results: The results indicated a significant effect of the semi-sitting position on the progress of labor at Jamaliah Midwifery Clinic, Pidie Regency, in 2024, with a ρ-value of 0.009. Suggestions: Health institutions and healthcare workers, particularly midwives, are encouraged to optimize maternal care during childbirth by facilitating mothers in choosing an effective labor position to ensure a safe and comfortable delivery process. Abstract

Quality assurance in early childhood education institutions plays a pivotal role in shaping the educational landscape for young children aged 0 to 6 years. This literature review aims to investigate the multifaceted role of quality assurance mechanisms across various preschool programs, exploring how these systems contribute to the enhancement of educational practices and the overall development of children. The review synthesizes existing studies that address both theoretical and practical aspects of quality assurance, including standards, assessment tools, and evaluation frameworks. It delves into the importance of adopting a holistic approach that encompasses not only educational outcomes but also social, emotional, and developmental growth. The investigation highlights the correlation between robust quality assurance practices and improved teaching methodologies, effective curriculum implementation, and enriched learning environments that promote child-centered pedagogy. Additionally, the study discusses the challenges faced by educators and administrators in the realm of quality assurance, such as resource constraints, varying stakeholder expectations, and the need for ongoing professional development. It also identifies areas for future research, emphasizing the necessity for a collaborative effort among policymakers, educators, and families in establishing and maintaining quality standards that can lead to sustainable educational practices.
