Abstract

This research analyzes the symbol of the house from the film "Ngeri-ngeri Sedap," which represents family dynamics, traditions, and intergenerational conflicts. This research explores how the houses in this film can symbolize the cultural myths contained within, such as the role of parents, social pressure, and the importance of preserving traditional values. The method used in this research is qualitative analysis with a focus on the visual elements of the house and the meanings created from those representations in Batak Culture. The results of this study show that the houses in this film can represent patriarchal authority, protection, and the conflict between tradition and modernization. The house here is not just a backdrop, but a symbol for reflecting cultural conflicts, identity, and power. This research supports the use of semiotics in understanding the cultural symbols contained within and recommends further research using patriarchal theory to deepen visual analysis.

Abstract

The branding carried out on the tire shine product business owned by Mrs. Agustina Lubis aims to increase sales figures for one of the tire shine products. In creating the product branding, the creation method used is preparation, elaboration, synthetic/pre-production, Mind Mapping/Brainstorming, Realization/production, and Completion/post-production. Now the product can be sold and marketed from what was initially only sold to regular customers and to car wash businesses around the house or the city of Binjai. Now the sales reach can be even wider through online media which of course makes the product better known and recognized by new consumers because it already has a clear brand name or brand to provide a sense of consumer trust regarding the quality of the products they buy. With the new packaging or packaging, the tire shine product can now be marketed more safely, much better and finally the product itself can also be used directly more easily for consumers.Keywords : Branding, Tire Shine, Promotion Strategy

Abstract

Tantrum is anger with rage due to the inability to express desires or needs in words. Tantrums most often occur in children aged 3-5 years, because at that age children are developing language skills. Tantrums are something that is common in children, in the city of Batusangkar there are still many parents who don't know what tantrums are, and there are those who think Tantrums are a symptom of a child with needs. Due to parents' lack of understanding about what tantrums are and how to handle tantrums that occur in children, a social campaign was designed for parents about how to handle tantrums that occur in children. This social campaign was carried out in the form of seminars held at schools. by inviting parents as the audience. The data collection methods used were observation, interviews, questionnaires and also literature study. The analysis method used is SWOT analysis and the target audience is parents with an age range of 25-45 years. After collecting this data, we continue with the brainstorming process, preparing verbal concepts and visual concepts for the media that will be designed. The results of this design are seminars as the main media and also pocket books, posters, X-Banners, social media accounts, and also merchandise as supporting media.

Abstract

Mandi Balimau Kasai di Desa Kembang Bunga, Kabupaten Pelalawan, merupakan warisan budaya yang penting dalam menyambut bulan suci Ramadhan. Namun, dalam beberapa waktu terakhir, tradisi ini mengalami perubahan yang tidak sesuai dengan ajaran Islam, dengan hilangnya batasan antara laki-laki dan perempuan serta munculnya perilaku yang bertentangan dengan syariat. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan solusi desain yang dapat mempertahankan nilai-nilai budaya dan tetap diterima oleh masyarakat. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif yaitu observasi untuk memperoleh pemahaman yang komprehensif tentang fenomena ini. Melalui analisis solusi desain didapatkan,dan diharapkan solusi desain dapat memberikan inovasi baru dalam mempertahankan nilai-nilai kearifan lokal budaya Mandi Balimau di Desa Kembang Bunga.Kata Kunci: kearifan lokal, mandi balimau, RIAU, adat melayu, budaya

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengukur kepuasan pengguna dalam perspektif visual dari User Interface (UI) BCA Mobile Banking menggunakan User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ). Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Sequential mixed method yang menggabungkan data kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengguna memiliki tingkat kepuasan yang tinggi terhadap layanan BCA Mobile Banking, namun terdapat kelemahan dalam aspek visual seperti tampilan yang terlihat kuno, ketidak konsistenan, dan tata letak yang tidak rapi. Perbedaan persepsi dan kesulitan dalam penggunaan menu transfer juga diidentifikasi. Kesimpulannya, penilaian UI Mobile Banking BCA belum mencakup aspek estetika, konsistensi, dan tata letak yang mencerminkan nilai-nilai desain grafis dan komunikasi visual.   Kata Kunci: BCA, antarmuka, user experience questionnaire, Sequential mixed method , observasi

Abstract

Seiring dengan meningkatnya pelanggan dalam penjualan furniture meningkat pula manufaktur produk yang dibuat. dari para pengrajin furniture terutama perusahaan mebel kustom menjadi salah satunya menghasilkan limbah dengan dari sisa kayu. Menghadapi meningkatnya limbah produksi seperti ini, dominan limbah kayu yang dihasilkan akan dibuang karena tidak layak untuk dipakai. hal ini meningkatkan volume limbah yang sekarang sudah menjadi permasalahan yang harus segera diatasi, beberapa jenis limbah kayu bisa diolah kembali namun masih ada beberapa jenis yang belum bisa dibentuk menjadi produk kembali. Dari limbah yang bisa diolah kembali, dengan memanfaatkan  limbah ini bisa memberikan potensi untuk membuat dan merancang produk baru tanpa membutuhkan material baru. hal ini meningkatkan sustainabilitas dari pengrajin furniture dengan tujuan menambah inovasi dalam produksi furniture yang diproduksi dan memanfaatkan limbah.Kata Kunci: sustainable, furniture, SWOT, observasi, design.
