Abstract

This study examines the influence of visitor satisfaction on the decision to visit Jakarta, using an international music festival We the Fest (WTF) as a case study. WTF is an annual large-scale event that combines music performances, arts, fashion, and culinary experiences, organized by Ismaya Live in Jakarta. The research employed a quantitative method with purposive sampling involving 96 respondents from outside Jakarta who had attended WTF at least once. Data were analyzed using Pearson Product Moment correlation, coefficient of determination (R²), and t-test, utilizing SPSS v25. The results indicate a significant influence of event satisfaction on the decision to visit Jakarta, with a t_count value of 8.521 > t_table (1.986) and a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.436 suggests that 43.6% of the variance in visiting decisions is influenced by satisfaction with WTF, while the remaining 56.4% is affected by other factors not examined in this study. These findings have important implications for event organizers and urban tourism managers, particularly in enhancing the quality of visitor experiences to encourage repeat visits and strengthen Jakarta's image as a tourism destination.

Abstract

Sibandang Island is part of the Toba Caldera UNESCO Global Sibandang Island, part of the Toba Caldera UNESCO Global Geopark, possesses significant cultural and natural potential, yet faces substantial challenges in tourism promotion. Previous research indicated that marketing feasibility was only 8%, despite cultural and natural potential reaching 98%. This disparity highlights the absence of a targeted and sustainable promotional strategy. This study aims to design a sustainable tourism promotion strategy for cultural events on Sibandang Island, emphasizing local cultural authenticity and sustainability, with a focus on cultural and technological pillars. The methodology employed is qualitative descriptive research. Data analysis utilizes content and thematic analysis based on indicators from a sustainable promotion matrix. Subsequently, the analysis results are developed into a promotional strategy using the SOAR (Strengths, Opportunities, Aspirations, Results) approach. The targeted output is a local culture-based sustainable tourism promotion strategy in the form of a final document, intended as a reference for local government, tourism awareness groups (Pokdarwis), and tourism promotion stakeholders. This research is expected to enhance the effectiveness of tourism promotion and contribute to the sustainable preservation of local culture on Sibandang Island.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the role of knowledge regarding inclusivity on the perception of hearing audiences towards the use of Sign Language Interpreters (SLIs) at Indonesian music festivals. The research background stems from the high enthusiasm of Indonesian society for music concerts, as indicated by the 2024 Populix survey. Despite music being considered a universal language, accessibility for the Deaf community remains a significant issue. The use of SLIs at music concerts is a transformative step to bridge this gap, but its effectiveness depends on the perception and acceptance of hearing audiences. Methodology This study employs a quantitative design with a survey method, involving at least 100 hearing audience respondents who have attended music festivals in Indonesia. Purposive and snowball sampling techniques are used to reach the respondents. An online questionnaire with a Likert scale is used to measure inclusivity knowledge and perceptions of SLIs. The results of this study are expected to contribute to the understanding of how to enhance inclusivity at music festivals, highlighting the importance of knowledge and perception as key factors.

Abstract

Surabaya, known as the City of Heroes, possesses vast potential in cultural heritage tourism. The purpose of this study is to develop a bilingual travel pattern entitled “Surabaya Cultural Heritage”. The need for this study aims to improve Surabaya’s image as a cultural tourism destination while supporting the increase in local and foreign tourist visits to Surabaya for the purpose of vacationing and supporting the Surabaya government's efforts in maximizing the tourism sector. The objective is to create an informative, accessible, and attractive guide that aligns with government efforts to boost the tourism and creative economy sectors. This travel pattern is presented bilingually (English-Indonesian) to meet the linguistic needs of a wider audience. This study is supported by the theory of travel pattern, which explains the structured movement of tourists to maximize experiences. One relevant previous study by Hardiyanti (2021) succeeded in creating a bilingual guidebook for Kampoeng Heritage Kajoetangan that enhanced visitor engagement. The study used the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation), employing qualitative methods such as observation, interviews, expert validation (four expert validators: content, language, design, and media), and field testing involving 50 respondents. The results of the travel pattern indicate that the bilingual travel pattern was well-received, effectively helping tourists navigate and understand Surabaya’s cultural heritage sites. Discussion of findings reveals that the product improves destination accessibility and tourist experience, especially through route recommendations and QR code integration. The study concludes that such a tool supports cultural tourism and can act as a promotional medium. The writer suggests future development includes adding more languages and incorporating interactive digital features to expand outreach and engagement.
