Abstract

Sponsorship plays a fundamental role in the success of events by providing financial, service, and product support. This study aims to explore sponsorship activities and strategies for their development at the Nyanyian Riang Gembira 2023 event organized by CV Endless Creative Production. A qualitative research approach was used, incorporating data collection methods such as interviews, observations, and documentation. The analysis was conducted using five stages: SOAR analysis, data reduction, data presentation, conclusion drawing, and triangulation. The findings indicate that while CV Endless Creative Production has made significant efforts in sponsorship management, the implementation remains suboptimal, particularly due to the absence of a specialized sponsorship strategy. The study highlights that the sponsorship development strategy is essential for brand recognition, strengthening relationships with sponsors, achieving sponsorship targets, and establishing a structured sponsorship framework. These findings emphasize the need for a more systematic approach to sponsorship acquisition and management to enhance event sustainability and financial stability.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the development of the Sinabung Art Festival as an instrument for improving the community's economy and strengthening community capacity in Kuta Gugung Village, Karo Regency, an area affected by the eruption of Mount Sinabung. This festival was initiated as a response to the socio-economic recovery needs of the community after the disaster, by integrating elements of culture, local creativity, and disaster education. The research approach used is qualitative descriptive with a case study method. Data was obtained through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, documentation, and focus group discussions (FGDs), with key informants including MSME actors, festival committees, traditional leaders, visitors, and village officials. The results of the study show that the Sinabung Art Festival significantly contributes to an increase in the income of MSME actors by 200-300% during the festival. In addition, the level of participation of the local community is very high, both in the form of committees, art performances, and educational activities. The festival has also succeeded in becoming a medium for promoting authentic Karo culture and a means of disaster education through documentary exhibitions, lava tours, and evacuation simulations. This study concludes that the Sinabung Art Festival is not just an entertainment event, but a means of sustainable community development that is multidimensional—economic, social, cultural, and educational. The strategic recommendations produced include strengthening the capacity of MSMEs, digitizing promotions, planning annual event calendars, integrating disaster education in tourism, and establishing village-based committee institutions. This research contributes to the development of a post-disaster community-based event model that can be replicated in other areas with similar characteristics. Follow-up studies are recommended to develop socio-cultural and economic sustainability indicators in the context of local festivals.

Data were obtained through a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive statistics. The results reveal a high level of public agreement on the festival’s role in cultural preservation, community identity reinforcement, and intergenerational transmission of values. Furthermore, the festival is perceived to yield meaningful economic outcomes, including increased revenues for local MSMEs, the creation of temporary employment, and heightened local consumption. The study advocates for strategic efforts to strengthen community involvement, encourage culturally informed innovation, ensure active governmental support, enhance MSME capacities, and foster multi-stakeholder collaboration to sustain both cultural and economic contributions.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the use of MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) tour packages in Malang City and their impact on the consumption patterns of business tourists and bleisure preferences. The identified issues include the form of MICE tour package usage in the implementation of MICE activities in Malang City, the impact of MICE tour package usage on business tourist visits, and the bleisure trend that has not yet been widely facilitated by tour service providers. This bleisure trend indicates that business travelers tend to extend their stay to engage in additional leisure activities after their business events are completed. However, the lack of MICE tour packages integrated with bleisure activities can reduce the comfort and effectiveness of business travelers' trips. This study uses a quantitative approach with the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method. The research sample consists of 150 respondents who are business travelers and MICE tourism service providers in the city of Malang. The analysis results show that the use of MICE tour packages significantly affects the consumption patterns of business travelers and bleisure preferences. Bleisure preferences have been proven to mediate the influence of MICE tour package usage on the consumption patterns of business travelers. This means that the more attractive and complete the MICE tour packages are, the greater the incentive for business travelers to engage in bleisure activities, thereby increasing tourist consumption during their visit. The findings of this research emphasize that tourism service providers in Malang City need to develop more integrated and flexible MICE tour packages to support bleisure activities. Thus, the continuously increasing bleisure trend can be utilized to extend the stay of business travelers and promote sustainable tourism economic growth.
