Abstract

Reproductive health is physical, mental and social well-being as a whole in all matters relating to the reproductive system and function, as well as the reproductive process and not just a condition that is free from disease and disability1. Menstrual pain is a feeling of discomfort that arises from the female reproductive system during menstruation1. Dysmenorrhea occurs in the lower abdomen before menstruation or during menstruation due to uterine muscle contractions. Symptoms of dysmenorrhea often occur on the first or second day of menstruation2. This evidence based case report aims to identify the effect of Abdominal Stretching Exercise on reducing dysmenorrhoea pain. The search for articles regarding the effect of Abdominal Stretching Exercise on reducing dysmenorrhea pain was carried out on the Garuda e-data based, so that 3 articles were obtained with Pre-Experimental and Quasi-Experimental research designs and met the inclusion criteria that had been previously determined, then a journal review was conducted, and it was found that Abdominal Stretching Exercise affects the reduction of dysmenorrhea pain and can be applied to patients.

Abstract

Labor is the process of releasing a baby which is marked by uterine contractions, causing pain during the process before the baby is born. Labor pain that arises more often and for longer can cause the mother to be nervous, afraid and tense and even stressed which results in the release of excessive hormones such as adrenaline, catecholamines and steroids. The use of non-pharmacological management can be done because it is affordable, effective and without side effects and can control feelings, strength and can increase comfort during labor with endorphin massage. This evidence-based case report aims to analyze the results of the action of giving endorphin massage with pain intensity in the first stage of labor. This technique is performed with light massage from the left and right shoulders by forming a V letter towards the tailbone repeatedly when contractions occur during labor. The article search method uses 2 databases, namely: Google Scholar and PubMed with publications in the last 5 years. After reviewing the journal, it was found that there was an effect of giving Endorphin Massage on the intensity of pain in pregnant women in the first stage of the active phase.

Abstract

One of the way to decrease the death rate of mother and infant during childbirth is through sectio caesarea. SC operation generates pain from the incision site. Patients will feel severe pain on the first two hours on average after procedure because the effects of anesthetic drugs are slowly decreasing. The efforts to overcome pains in mothers who undergo SC procedure are both pharmacological and non-pharmacological. Non pharmacological methods are relaxations, breathing technique, movements and position changes, massage, acupressure, hot-and-cold therapy, hypnobirthing, music and tens. One of the non-pharmacological way to reduce pain is the hand-held relaxation technique. The hand-held relaxation technique is an easy way to control emotions and develop emotional intelligence. This research aims to determine the effect of the hand-held technique on the reduction of pain intensity in post sectio caesarea mother. The article search was carried out on October 2nd 2021 using Google scholar database published in the last 5 years, previously screened then reviewed critically. The result of the case study after the hand-held technique in Mrs. R, there is a decrease in the intensity of pain from scale 6 to scale 3.

Abstract

In Indonesia, the incidence of dysmenorrhea is 64.25%, consisting of 54.89% having primary dysmenorrhea and 9.36% suffering from secondary dysmenorrhea. Dysmenorrhea is abdominal pain that comes from uterine cramps and occurs during menstruation (Morgan, 2009). One of the management of non-pharmacological therapy to reduce pain during menstruation is by giving herbal ingredients, namely ginger water. This is in line with research which states that ginger has the same effectiveness as mefenamic acid and ibuprofen in reducing primary dysmenorrhea pain. This evidence based case report is to find out the evidence based on giving ginger water to dysmenorrhea in women of childbearing age. Search articles regarding the effect of giving ginger water on reducing dysmenorrhoea pain were carried out in e-data based Pubmed and Schooler, so that 3 articles were obtained with 2 Quasi Experimental Design research designs and 1 Meta-Analysis and Systematic Review and met the inclusion criteria that had been previously determined, then A review of the journal was conducted, and it was found that the administration of ginger water affected the reduction of dysmenorrhoea pain and could be applied to patients.

Abstract

The normal delivery process is the process of expelling the products of conception (fetus and placenta) that have been enough months or can live outside the womb. This labor process will cause contractions. Every woman in labor wants the pain of childbirth not to cause pain so that women do not experience birth trauma. Various methods of pain relief, both pharmacological and non-pharmacological that can reduce labor pain, one of which is the deep back massage technique. This technique is carried out on mothers who have entered labor by massaging the mother's sacrum area so that the pain that the mother experiences can be reduced. This Evidence-Based Case Report (EBCR) aims to determine the effect of deep back massage on reducing the intensity of labor pain in the first stage. The method used in writing EBCR is by tracing evidence through a database from Pubmed. Inclusion criteria: articles using English, published in 2016 to 2021, research design in articles is Random Clinical Trial (RCT), systematic review and or meta-analysis, and journals can be accessed in full (full text). The deep back massage technique is carried out in the mother's sacrum area for 20 minutes and this can reduce the intensity of pain during the first stage of labor. The conclusion is that deep back massage can reduce the intensity of pain in the first stage of labor. Key words: Deep Back Massage, first stage labor pain, Sacral Massage

Abstract

The delivery position can increase comfort by stimulating receptors in the brain that decrease the perception of pain due to uterine contractions so can speed up labor. Delivery positions can help the baby move through the pelvis, and some positions increase the diameter of the pelvis. Midwives have an important role in providing support and facilitating mothers to choose a comfortable and appropriate delivery position so as to shorten the length of labor. The squatting position is one of the alternative labor positions that is useful in shortening the length of the second stage of labor. The squat position is categorized as an upright position so that it provides a gravitational force that helps push the lowest part of the fetus down, increases the diameter of the pelvis so that it helps the rotation of the fetus and the mother is free to move and control her weight so that she feels comfortable. This evidence-based case report aims to determine the effect of the squatting position in the second stage of labor on primiparas at UPT Puskesmas Padasuka. Search articles regarding this labor position through Google Scholar, Pubmed and Chocrane Library with the keyword strategy of searching for birth position OR squatting position AND duration of second stage of labor. There were 2 articles that matched the inclusion and exclusion criteria and had been previously screened, then analyzed critically. After critically reviewing the two articles, it is stated important and can be applied to patients. The squatting position was performed by primiparous mothers in the second stage of labor. It was found that the length of the labor stage was 13 minutes, thus the squatting position in the second stage of labor was effective in accelerating labor.
