Abstract

Background: Clamping and cutting the umbilical cord is part of the activity of Normal Childbirth Care (APN) which is included in the active management of the third stage. Cutting the umbilical cord can minimize the increase in blood volume so that placental transfusion will experience a loss of 33% iron. Iron deficiency can take babies at risk of being infected with anemia until the age of 4 months. Milking the umbilical cord is an alternative way that has the purpose to provide the optimal placental transfusion in infants to reduce the risk of anemia on baby growth. Purpose: This evidence-based case report aims to determine the effect of umbilical cord milking on hemoglobin levels in newborns. Method: The researcher has been found the articles about the effect of milking the umbilical cord on hemoglobin levels in newborns and it was conducted through the PubMed and Cochrane databases. There are 2 articles by Kilicdag, Jeevan, and the team that matched the inclusion and exclusion criteria which were then critically analyzed. Result: The results of measuring hemoglobin levels in infants who received intervention when they were 38 hours old were 23.8 gr/dL. This shows that infants who received cord milking interventions had higher hemoglobin levels compared to infants without cord milking. Conclusion: From these two articles, it can be concluded that umbilical cord milking is proven to be the right strategy for increasing hemoglobin levels in newborns.

Abstract

Background: Immunization as a form of effective preventive program to reduce mortality in infants and toddlers. Pain is one of the side effects of giving immunization by injection which can cause distress in the baby. Experiences of pain that are not treated immediately can have a long-term physiological as well as psychological impact on the child. Feeding method as a safe and effective method of relieving pain in newborns. Breastfeeding during immunization can be one of the nonpharmacological alternatives because this intervention is costless and easy to implement because it does not require other additional equipment. Purpose: The purpose of evidence-based use of this breastfeeding method is to reduce or minimize pain during immunization. Method: The method used is by tracing evidence through databases from Pubmed and Cochrane with the publication year 2012-2022. Result: The result of differences in pain levels measured by the AND scale between neonates who were given breastfeeding interventions during immunization was 4 and those who were not given interventions were 7. Conclusion: Breastfeeding reduces pain during immunization injections.

Abstract

Background : Pain in the active phase of labor in the first stage can affect the increase in blood pressure and fetal heart rate, and interfere with the mother's concentration during labor. The initial peak of pain usually occurs when labor enters the active phase. One of the non-pharmacological methods in reducing the intensity of labor pain is massage or massage in the form of counter pressure. Counterpressure massage is able to make endorphin compounds active so that they can inhibit the transmission of pain to reduce pain intensity. Purpose : The purpose of this Evidence Based Case Report is to determine differences in pain intensity during the first active phase of labor before and after application of counterpressure massage. Method : A search for articles regarding the effect of counterpressure massage was carried out on the Scholar e-database and the Garuda Portal. From the search results, it was found that two articles with a quasi-experimental research design by M. Satria and Nurfaizah, et al were filtered based on criteria and reviewed critically. Measurement of pain intensity was carried out before and after administering Counterpressure massage using the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS) and the result was that there was a decrease in pain scores. Result : The intensity of pain before being given Counterpressure massage obtained a value of 5 (moderate pain) while after being given Counterpressure massage obtained a value of 3 (mild pain). Conclusion : Counterpressure massage for labor pain is effective in reducing labor pain.

Abstract

Background: Childbirth is a happy event for every woman, but during the delivery process every woman will feel pain and that is a physiological and psychological thing. Every woman has different pain. The causes of labor pain result from several factors such as uterine muscle contractions, pelvic floor muscle strain and psychological conditions. One of the non-pharmacological methods that can be used to reduce labor pain is natural effleurage massage. Purpose: This Evidence Based Case Report (EBCR) aims to determine the effect of effleurage massage on labor pain. Method: The Evidence Based Case Report (EBCR) method uses article searches regarding the effect of effleurage massage on Google Scholar and Garuda. Result: There were 2 quasi-experimental design articles by Herinawati, et al and Magfirah that met the inclusion and exclusion criteria and then had previously been screened and the assessment of maternal pain was assessed using the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS). The author applies effleurage massage to women in labor during the active phase I, before the massage the pain experienced by the mother is included in the moderate pain category with a value of 6, after being given effleurage massage for 20 minutes there is a decrease in pain to a mild pain scale with a value of 3. Conclusions:  This proves the existence the effect of effleurage massage on labor pain in the first stage of the active phase

Abstract

Background: Baby massage is a method that can provide comfort to the baby because it can help relax tense muscles so that the baby becomes calm and sleeps soundly. The benefits of pijat bayi are weight gain and growth, stamina, focus on the baby, sound baby sleep, bonding between mother and baby, and increased milk production. This happens when the baby is massaged by the parents themselves, the bond between the parents and the baby will be further enhanced. The closest family can be included in the pijat bayi to get closer to the emotional connection, for example fathers, grandmothers, grandfathers. The baby's instinct can respond to the mother's touch as an expression of love, protection and care. In addition to its benefits, pijat bayi can cause problems if not done properly. As a result of improper massage this can cause trauma or bruising to the skin and muscles, pain in babies. Purpose: The purpose of this evidence-based case report is to find out whether infant massage has an effect on infant sleep quality. Method:The search for this article was carried out using the e-database Pubmed and ScienceDirect. Result: Two articles published by Sri Wahyuni and Siti Noorbaya et al. This article was taken according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria then critically reviewed. Conclusions: Baby massage has been proven to improve the quality of baby sleep

Abstract

Background: The prevalence of diarrhea is still high at 40% and 2nd ranks after pneumonia. The prevalence of diarrhea is still above the national target of 10%. Several attempts to treat diarrhea in toddlers have been carried out. There are non-pharmacological efforts that can help accelerate the healing of diarrhea, namely by giving honey. Honey is a type of drink that contains probiotic agents that are antibacterial, which contain inhibine, glycosides, and polyvenols. This content can inhibit the metabolic process of microorganisms such as eschericia coli as one of the diarrhea. Purpose: The purpose of this evidence based case report was to determine efforts to reduce the frequency of diarrhea by giving honey to people with diarrhea. Method:This study uses a literature review method. Result: The results of the analysis of the literature review from the evidence based cased report study showed that honey reduced the duration of diarrhea and accelerated recovery time. The intervention of giving honey to toddlers who have diarrhea has been resolved. Conclusion: It can be concluded that giving honey can be an alternative in helping to treat and to recover from diarrhea
