Abstract

Abstract: This research was conducted to increase the speaking ability of eighth grade students of MTs. Darul Huda Cileles. Video-based project teaching is proposed in teaching speaking because it is interesting, especially for descriptive texts. Several previous studies found that video media can encourage kids to become more active and engaged willing to speak, so that their speaking skills can be improved. This study uses a classroom action research design. Researchers and teachers work together in designing lesson plans, criteria of success, action stages, observation stages, and reflections. The participants in this research were students in class VIII MTs Darul Huda Cileles for the academic year 2021/2022. This research was conducted by following action research procedures, namely planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The percentage of students who achieved a score above the predetermined minimum completeness score (KKM) increased from only 20% (3 students out of 15 students) in the preliminary study to 50% (6 students out of 15 students). Students experienced a significant increase in scores obtained from video 1 and video 2. The first criterion was 11 students out of 15 students or 74% of students passed the KKM. For the second criterion, 74% of students are able to speak 8 sentences. For the third criterion, 74% of students are able to produce 8 sentences orally. After passing the research target where the criteria of success were 65% of students passed the KKM, and students passed the predetermined success criteria of 74%. For future researchers, it is recommended to conduct more than one preliminary study in order to identify the problem more accurately.

Abstract

Abstract: The research’s objective is to investigate correlation of the students’ emotional intelligence and their listening skill in virtual classroom using Soundcloud. During the pandemic, the use of that mobile enhanced-learning application permitted the students to maximize their learning with the practicality, accessibility, and discharging cost cleared up the way. The research was in correlational research method that all of data were obtained by using quantitative research. The population was twelfth grade students, it was 102 students. The sampling technique is proportional percentage sampling by 40% x population (102) = 39.20 = 40 respondents as the respondents. The result of research was the research hypothesis is accepted. It means that there is any correlation of students emotional agility on their listening. It could be seen through , significance level 0,05 is . Thus, the mean’s is the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and Null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected or students’ emotional intelligence influences their listening skill

Abstract

Abstract: This research aimed at knowing the students' perception towards English online learning during Covid-19 pandemic at SMAN 1 Cipanas. This research uses qualitative method with a case study approach. The data were collected through interviews with students. Out of 38 students, researcher only interviewed 13 people of XI MIPA 3 at SMAN 1 Cipanas participated in this research. The result of this research was presented descriptively in order to reveal the students' perception. The results of this study found positive and negative perceptions. Some students stated that learning English while at home was quite effective, because it is the only way out to continue learning online while the Covid-19 pandemic is still in Indonesia, so they can still learn even though it is not directly at school. And some argue that online learning English is not effective, because there are obstacles such as difficult signals, bored, sometimes there are students who do not have a quota and limited space for students to talk to the teacher

Abstract

Abstract: Many students are difficult to pronounce the word especially in English language and pronunciation as basic of all English skills, without correct pronunciation students’ will do miscommunication between speakers and listeners. The writer interested to make the research about An Analysis of Students’ Difficulties in Pronouncing English Vowels in Their Speaking Skills Based on Mother Tongue at the First Grade of SMAN 6 Kota Serang. The objectives of the research were to find what are the vowels difficulties, to know what kind of Students’ mother tongue which has high difficulties in pronouncing English vowels and to know the factors of the students’ difficulties. The result of the research shows the students difficulties in pronouncing English vowels in their speaking skill based on mother tongue. The writer used the instrument of collecting data by using test and interview. The result of the research shows the students difficulties in pronouncing English vowels in their speaking skill based on mother tongue. The writer used the instrument of collecting data by using test and interview. The students can speak English but the Students’ still difficult to pronounce the word of English and one of the factors Students’ difficulties in pronouncing English vowels is caused by students’ mother tongue has.

Abstract

Abstract: This research was conducted to see how the role of smartphones in learning English for the eighth semester at STKIP Setia Budhi Rangasbitung. Especially trying to find out the role of smartphones through zoom meetings in during the pandemic. The method used in this study was a qualitative method with questionnaire and interview instruments. four students were selected to investigate the role of smartphones through zoom meetings in learning. The Data were gathered through instruments Questionnaire and structured interviews. The result of study showed that the part of smartphones through Zoom gatherings for learning exercises can give more encounters for understudies where understudies can be associated specifically, understudies can be conducted address and reply discourses and introductions almost the learning issues they are confronting, and online learning can run easily and get most extreme.

Abstract

Abstract: The objective of this research was to find out the process young learners incidental language learning of English speaking skill. This research is used a case study. The population of this research was the young learners. The subjects of this research were chosen by using the Interview, Documentation, and Observation technique. The data were collected using observation, interview, and documentation techniques. The technique of data is by WhatsApp media to complete the research. The results of this study show that: (1) young learner's incidental language learning of English speaking skill; (2) young learner's repetition of English speaking skill; (3) and young learner's problem of English speaking skill (3) The result are: (a) The young learners incidental language learning using media English movies and Ablo application for learn English, (b) The young learners repetition language learning using media Youtube and English music for learn English, (c) The young learners problem language learning is the difficulty of getting friends to discuss in English directly to practice English skills.
