Abstract

The dual response method is a method used to get maximum prediction results on artificial neural networks to be able to predict the next period. The purpose of this study is to predict the mass amount of waste that goes to the landfill for the next one year and the time of excess capacity at the Sumompo landfill based on historical data on the mass of waste that goes to the landfill and the area of ​​the Sumompo landfill. The initial stage carried out in this study was to take historical data on the mass of waste that entered the Sumompo landfill at the Manado City Environmental Service then from the data searched for the average value and standard deviation of the historical data obtained, then the data was normalized to binary sigmoid form. with a range of 0.1 to 0.9. After that, the data is trained to recognize patterns through the training and testing process, then proceed to the simulation process to get predictive results. Prediction results from research using the "trainlm" training function with network architecture 12-8-3-2 obtained the mass of waste that enters the final disposal site from September 2021 to August 2022 are: 1796172 tons, 1703016 tons, 1553125 tons, 1627118 tons , 1627118 tons, 1552924 tons, 1703036 tons, 1553150 tons, 1705416 tons, 1855288 tons, 1695870 tons, 1776243 tons. The prediction results show that the highest waste mass will occur in June 2022 with a pile height of 17 meters. Overcapacity of the final disposal site is predicted to occur in March 2022 where the landfill has exceeded the limit for the remaining volume of the landfill, which is 30,000,000 cubic meters of waste. . Abstract

Dual response approach is using for get the maximal result of prediction on Neural Network, in order to prediction motorcycle sale in the next period. The purpose of the research is (1) to make model of motorcycle prediction using neural network, and (2) make prediction and analyze the result of motorcycle prediction. First step to do in this research is searching the mean and standard deviation from the historycal data which obtained. And then data is normalized to the sigmoid biner form, with range from 0,1 to 0,9. After that train the data to recognize the pattern through the training process and testing process. And the next step for simulation process to get the prediction result. Result from the research which using the train function “trainlm” with network architecture 12-8-3-2 from january 2021 until december 2021 is; 302, 284, 326, 253, 277, 277, 240, 296, 284, 275, 265, and 310. The prediction result is showing that highest sales is on march 2021 with 326 motorcycle unit, and the lowest sales is on july 2021 with only 240 motorcycle unit. The prediction showing us sales drop because of the covid-19 pandemic. Keywords : Prediction, dual response, neural network

Abstract

In a metal cutting process, especially a lathe that can cut the workpiece into the desired product, it is generally done with dry machining (without using cooling media). This is done because to reduce the cost of machining is done. (Rochim, 2007) The purpose of this study was to obtain the effect of dry lathe machining on electric motor power by varying the spindle rotation. The method used in this study is the test method on the KNUT 1000 A lathe in the Unsrat Mechanical Engineering Laboratory. The results of this study indicate that the spindle rotation speed is increased from 300 rpm to 1600 rpm, the electric motor power increases from 1216 W to 1794 W, so that dry lathe machining affects the use of electric motor power with varying spindle rotation.

Abstract

Electrical energy has become one of the basic needs for the continuity of human activities. From time to time human activities continue to increase and the demand for electrical energy also increases. In order to overcome this, many innovations in electricity are needed to support the need for electricity. By utilizing rainfall that continues to exist every year, this research was carried out to obtain the performance of converting raindrop energy into electrical energy through piezoelectric circuits and different rainfall parameters. The method used in this research is an experimental method, where the pressure applied to the piezoelectric varies to produce a voltage. There are two types of tests carried out in this study, namely testing with a series circuit and testing with a parallel circuit of various height variations, including: 170 cm, 190 cm, 210 cm, 230 cm, 250 cm, and 270 cm. In testing series and parallel circuits, the highest output voltages are both at a height of 270 cm. However, when viewed from the whole experiment with ten variations to the six heights, the series circuit produces more average voltages than the parallel circuit. Abstract

Maju Sejahtera Waste Bank is a waste processing industry in Manado City and is managed directly by the Malalayang District government which was established in 2021. This research aims to find out the process of sorting recycling waste and make improvements to the layout of waste bank facilities using Promodel Software. Research was carried out at the Maju Sejahtera Waste Bank and data collection in the form of interviews with managers and workers of the waste bank and conducted direct observations to calculate the time of waste transport vehicles and documentation. The results showed that the layout of the facility in the initial layout and the simulated proposal layout had a significant difference from the results of the simulations carried out. Abstract

In the turning process, surface roughness is one of the important properties of the surface of an object because it determines whether or not the machine elements function properly. This is an obstacle in the industry, especially in manufacturing because it must be able to produce products with good surface roughness quality. Under these conditions, it is necessary to choose the right machining parameters. Some of the machining parameters that affect the quality of surface roughness are the main cutting angle and the feeding motion of the workpiece or feeding. Therefore, surface roughness is a measure of the accuracy and surface quality of a manufactured industrial product. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of feeding speed on the workpiece surface roughness in the KENT USA RML-1640T lathe process. To obtain the research results, it is necessary to test the lathe by varying the rotation by using a feed motion and a fixed depth of cut and the same test object material. The results of the analysis obtained from this study indicate that the feeding speed increases, the surface roughness increases. From the results of simple linear regression analysis, the regression line equation is obtained y ́ =2.839+0.030x which predicts that for every 1 mm/min increase in infeed speed, the surface roughness on the lathe for infeed speeds of 114 to 380 mmm/r will increase by 0.030 μm. And from the significant test results, it was found that feeding speed had a significant effect on the surface roughness of the turning process.. Abstract

Steam power plant is a steam powered power plant that rotate a turbine connected to generator to generate electricity. Steam produced by an equipment that called a boiler. Boilers produce steam by heating water with heat energy that generated by the combustion of fuel. This study was conducted to analyze how effective the boiler at PLTU Sulut-3 generating unit in absorbing heat energy from the fuel. The method used in this research is the calculation of efficiency with the direct method or the Input-Output method. Based on the results of efficiency calculations at 30MW power variations get an average efficiency of 78%, at 45 MW get an average efficiency of 80.09%, and at 55MW an average efficiency of 80.25%. From the results of the study, it was concluded that the greater the steam production in the boiler, the greater the efficiency. Keywords: boiler efficiency, direct method

Abstract

Pelatihan pengelasan dasar 3G (welding 3G) bagi pria kaum bapa P/KB Elia Getsemani Paal IV. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk memberikan latihan pengelasan dasar 3G bagi pria kaum bapa Getsemani Paal IV yang terdampak pandemi Covid 19 karena kehilangan mata pencarian serta membuka peluang untuk berwirausaha dan menambah daya saing jika mencari pekerjaan, Melalui program kemitraan masyarakat bagi P/KB Elia Getsemani Paal IV ini dapat menambah wawasan peserta tentang keselamatan kerja pada pekerjaan las, teknik pengelasan dasar, metode pengelasan, dan teknik penyambungan hingga teknik welding 3G. Abstract

In the turning that requires power to do so, there are several factors that affect the power required in tuning, cutting speed depth of cut, feeding workpiece material, and others. Of the several factors that affect the power of a lathe The purpose of this study was to analyze “the effect of cutting speed on electrical power consumption on the KENT USA RML-1640T lathe” in the mechanical engineering of Sam Ratulangi University (Unsrat). To obtain research results, it is necessary to test the lathe by varying the rotation by using a feeding motion and a fixed depth of cut and the same test abject material. The results of the analysis obtained from this study indicate that the increasing cutting speed tends to increase the use of electrical power on the lathe. From the results of simple liniear regression analysis, the regression line equation predicts that for every 1m/min increase by Rp. 0.087. 10Along with the increasing population and technological advances, so The need for electrical energy is also increasing so that it demands the availability of energy continuous electricity. One of the problems faced by PLTU North Sulawesi-3 2x50 MW as a supplier of electrical energy is a decline in performance generating unit caused by the Coal Feeder equipment experiencing disturbance. From these problems, an analysis is needed to find out how influential Coal Feeder equipment has on performance generator. The research was conducted by observing the work of the Coal Feeder on load, plant operation data processing based on Performance Index Formula PT PLN 2007 generator. From the results of the analysis, it can be concluded that: Coal Feeder operation plays an important role in the reliability and efficiency of the process power generation of PLTU Sulut-3 2x50 MW, so that if the Coal Feeder is disturbed it will affect performance generators such as low Equivalent Availability Factor (EAF) and High Equivalent Forced Outage Rate (EFOR).
