Abstract

The purpose of this study is to modify the plastic chopper and make a plastic counter with a manual drive system.The method used is four steps. The first step is to determine the modification plan. The second step is the selection of the use of modified materials. The third step is to make technical drawings. The fourth step is to make a modified plastic counter.The results of this modification can be obtained by a simple plastic counter unit using a manual drive system with a estimation time of 1012,500 minutes or 16,875 hours. The modified plastic chopper was able to count 69 plastic bottles of mineral water in 1 hour. Keywords: Modification, Plastic Counter, Manual Drive System

Abstract

This study aims to (1) create artificial neural network architecture and programming using matlab, (2) predict rainfall values for several periods future, and (3) make disaster management systems simple to anticipate disasters.Data were trained and tested to recognize patterns, then simulated to get predictive results. Rainfall data for the past 24 months, from the North Minahasa Climatology Station.The results showed that the function used was trainlm with network architecture 12-8-3-2 and predicted rainfall for the next 12 months (October 2018-September 2019) was 110±1.6106, 267±2.2641, 337±2.7191, 366±2.6943 , 337±2.7853, 305±73.9830, 190±74.4540, 33±70.8810, 34±2.0987, 35±1.3790, 39±1.2715, 68mm±1.3873. The highest rainfall prediction is February 2019 and is predicted to cause flooding. So, a simple disaster management system model is created with the aim of anticipating through activities to avoid and minimize the impact of disasters caused.Keywords: Artificial Neural Networks, Disaster Management, Dual Response,       Floods, Prediction, Rainfall

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to obtain the results of modeling and simulation for H-Darrieus wind turbine with straight blades. There are two approaches used in this study, namely hand calculation and software analysis. The calculation and analysis employed wind speed data of Manado City. Before applying software analysis, the data is processed to obtain the lift & drag forces that occur in turbine blades and other forces acting on wind turbines. Furthermore, the results of hand calculations and software analysis are compared so that the results of modeling and simulation are validated.The average counted-power of turbine is 181,81 watts, the wind turbine diameter is 2260 mm, and the wind turbine height is 2350 mm. The lift force is 143,257 N & the drag force is 3,978 N which is based on the attack angle 8,95, and the maximum Von Mises stress in the wind turbine is 184,96 MPa. Therefore, the wind turbine would not fail because the maximum stress that occurs in the structure is smaller than allowable stress of the material.Finally, the results of the modeling and simulation for the H-Darrieus wind turbine with straight blades are successfully obtained. Abstract

This study aimed to calculate and analyze the value of cost-benefit NaOH injection on cooling tower basin GPP unit 5 and 6 in the Lahendong geothermal area.  Population of this study was worker (GPP), work partners and management (PGE). Analysis techniques used is cost benefit analysis. The result of the study showed that NaOH injection on cooling tower basin GPP unit 5 and 6 has impact routine expenses issued by company for the purchase NaOH because injection done every day to keep pH value on cooling tower basin GPP according to standard HSSE 5,5 - 7. The costs were not direct is building constructions to supplies NaOH reserve, coatings basin, and delivery expense. The result of the calculation cost-benefit analysis NaOH injection on cooling tower basin GPP unit 5 and 6 in the Lahendong geothermal area for 3 years investment and the operational as follows: (1)Benefit Cost Ratio (BCR) reach 1,2025697 > 0, (2)Net Benefit Margin (NBM) reach Rp. 337.955.950 > 0. Abstract

Performance indicator is a quantitative measure that describes the performance achievement of a company that is used as the basis for future performance improvements. This research is related to a study of Lahendong unit 5 and 6 power plant performance evaluations using the base of PJBL (Electricity Purchase Agreement) and RKAP (Corporate Work Plan and Budget) in 2018. From the results of data analysis it was found that the PJBL indicator did not reach agreed targets. Besides that, downtime due to unscheduled maintenance is also quite high. From the results of the analysis of the causal factors it is known that there are main factors that cause the achievement of the performance targets. Some proposals improve the realization of PJBL and reduce downtime because unscheduled maintenance was also presented in this study. Keywords: RKAP, PJBL, performance, PLTP 5 & 6 Lahendong.

Abstract

Design of quality product is a design that based on the basic functions of the product that are adjusted into quality and capacity, as well as added value that can attract the attention of consumers. Product design development is very important because in this era of economic global competitive, innovation is very important to achieving advanced in the global market. The most important thing from product design development is fulfillment of the needs and desires of consumers.This research uses the quality function deployment (qfd) method, which is a design method that can translate the needs and desires of consumers to technical specifications in fulfillment customer satisfaction. QFD method is the most preferred method for developing a product's design. The product in this research is a standard helmet. Nowdays, helmet become one of safety needs, because all motorcycle users must use helmets if they want to go anywhere. But not few riders who do not use a helmet when driving because of discomfort when using a helmet. For this reason, a multifunctional helmet is needed so that the rider can feel comfortable and safe when using the helmet.            According to surveys and interviews, there are six important things conveyed by consumers for the development of this standard helmet, consist of: using a full face design, made from cold ingredients, use colors navy and silver, and added features of a microcontroller chip, wireless and password, microphone. As for the overall analysis with house of quality (HoQ) there are seven priority of technical specifications, namely: the shape design of standard helmet, flexibility of standard helmet in use, a multifunctional standard helmet, safety for helmet’s user, comfort for helmet’s user, the complete features, and attractive colors. Keywords : Product design development, QFD, HoQ

Abstract

This research is to modify the TERCO MT3017 type tensile test equipment which is still manual by using supporting components of the Stepper Motor, Pressure Sensor and Distance Sensor, so that the tensile testing instrument is developed into a test tool that becomes more efficient in terms of object testing.The purpose of this research is to design and build automation Tensile Test Equipment based on a microcontroller, using a drive component and a pressure reader so that it can get more efficient data.The results obtained from the TERCO MT3017 type tensile testing tool are getting a composite test specimen diagram in general where the tensile force increases in accordance with the extension of the test specimen. Keywords: Tensile Test Equipment, Microcontroller, Stepper Motor

Abstract

The lathe machine is a machine tool that rotates a workpiece to perform cutting. Lathe it self constitutes a procces that cuts rotating workpiece used chisel that moves parallel with rotating axis. The cutting process will generate heat. The lathe machines is equipped with liquid direct contact cooling system to cooling the chisel and the workpiece. This research, observed the effect of cooling liquid flow rates toward the heat, generates by cutting procces of a cylindrical workpiece.The are two aims of this research. The first aim, is to calculate the gerenates by the cutting process of a cylindrical workpiece. The second aim, is to know the number of cooling liquid flow rates that is good to cooling the chisel and the workpiece. Experiment were done by three variations of cooling flow rates, that is regulated by the open angle of cooling liquid’s ball valve. There are three open angle variations that are 300, 600, 900.From the experiments, the used of the cooling liquid is able to cooling down the high temperature due to cutting process. At 900 open angle of cooling liquid’s ball valve showed a better effects of cooling process. However, the decreases of temperature done by 300 and 600 open angle position of cooling liquid’s ball valve are not significant. Abstract

The purpose of this research is to obtain relations of workpiece’s deflection toward cutting force related to gripping distance, and to analize deflection towards parameters of the depth cutting and cutting rotation velocity at 300 rpm and 1600 rpm. The first result, is the deflection of workpiece is getting larger by the depth of cutting is increases. The second result, is the difference of deflection towards cutting rotation velocity variations. Number of workpiece’s deflection, showed small reduction at 300 rpm towards 1600 rpm. However, deflections numbers remain constant showed by the statistics data, because of the small variation. This research showed that, at the low cutting velocity the workpiece’s deflection is larger compare to high cutting velocity. Abstract

Customer satisfaction and dissatisfaction with a service or goods are usually determined by how a product is received by the customer from the service provider or product so that if the service provided in accordance with the expectations of the customer then they will feel satisfied and vice versa. This research aims to find out the attributes of the company that can provide satisfaction and dissatisfaction for customers who use repair services in car repair works using the Important Performance Analysis  (IPA) method.From the results of research conducted in one of the workshop car repair service providers gave the result that the company needs to improve the attributes that exist in quadrant 1  namely kecepatan service working time,,  kecepatan service claims,ketetapan service complaints vehicle,  waktu wait waiting time before getting service officer,keramahan in serving customers, responsibility of the workshop for the service provided,  pengecekan vehicle in detail and   karyawan master the services offered so that in the future these attributes can provide satisfaction to customers.Keywords : customer satisfaction,service, Importance Performance Analysis  (IPA)
