Abstract

The village of Nglanggeran in Gunungkidul possesses abundant natural and cultural tourism attractions. Through local wisdom and community-based tourism management, Nglanggeran has received numerous accolades as a Village Tourism destination. However, being part of the Karst Landscape Protection Area, Nglanggeran needs to consider a conservative and sustainable tourism development strategy that involves relevant stakeholders. This research aims to analyse the roles, positions, and interests of stakeholders within the community-based institution, which is the strength of Nglanggeran as a tourism village. The methodology combines literature study, content analysis, qualitative descriptive analysis, and Social Network Analysis using scientific articles and Regional Regulations (Perda) as data sources to map the institutional network patterns in Nglanggeran village. Aligning the institutional analysis results with the Perda containing tourism policy guidelines in the protected area, particularly the Karst Landscape Area in Nglanggeran village, yields recommendations to strengthen institutional functions in the effort to develop community-based and sustainable tourism in Nglanggeran village.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine effective strategies for improving the tourism destination in Pagar Alam, South Sumatra through the development of homestays in the Gunung Dempo area. The research method used is a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods. The qualitative method is used to describe the appropriate strategies, while the quantitative method is used to analyze the IFAS and EFAS data in the form of numbers. Data were collected through direct observation, interviews, and the distribution of questionnaires to 95 respondents who had visited homestays in the Gunung Dempo area. The results of the SWOT analysis showed that the homestays in the Gunung Dempo area are in quadrant 1, which means that the internal and external conditions are positive and quite good. In this quadrant, homestays are very advantageous with opportunities (1.55) and strengths (1.77). The appropriate alternative strategy for homestay development is an aggressive strategy that utilizes opportunities to increase strengths. Therefore, it can be concluded that alternative strategies and priority strategies can be applied to the development of homestays in the Gunung Dempo area to improve the tourism destination. Suggestions that can be given from this research are to promote advantages in quality of service, unique architecture, and affordable accommodation prices. In addition, it is recommended to collaborate with local and central governments to increase domestic and foreign tourist visits.

Abstract

The existence of the Covid-19 virus impacts daily activities carried out by humans, not only killing the human body but also economic growth throughout the region. One of the sectors affected by the Covid-19 pandemic is tourism, for example, in the Magelang City area, precisely in Kyai Langgeng Park. Kyai Langgeng Park has experienced a decline since the arrival of the Covid-19 virus, and it has impacted the surrounding economy and company income. This paper aims to determine market share and industry growth that needs to be developed through the BCG matrix analysis tool. This research uses quantitative methods from the results of BCG matrix analysis. It takes secondary data from the number of tourists according to tourism objects in Magelang City in 2016-2020, which are sourced from the Youth, Sports, and Tourism Office of Magelang City. The results of this study indicate that Kyai Langgeng Park is in the cash cow quadrant due to sales growth of -71.26% and a relative market share of 0.534. The results of this study are expected to help Taman Kyai Langgeng develop and improve its business strategy to survive in the era of increasingly fierce industrial competition.

Abstract

Kampung Adat Segunung, located in Carangwulung village, Jombang, East Java, is an example of a tourism village that applies digitization for tourism development. This can be seen from the intentions and motivations of destination managers who use websites, social media, and the Google Ecosystem in their daily tourism management. This article is a publication of the team's research on the impact of using digital technology in tourism destinations. The research conducted by the research team used a qualitative descriptive method with data collection techniques that relied heavily on interviews, observation results, and literature studies. Managers in Kampung Adat Segunung were also used as research subjects using a participatory rural appraisal approach. Research conducted by the research team found that the positive impact of digital technology adaptation for tourism in the Kampung Adat Segunung still has implications only for destination managers. Most local people are still not positively affected, so they show reluctance to involve themselves in local tourism. In addition, the research team also found that there was an unpreparedness of human resources in terms of their digital capacity to be able to take full advantage of digital technology adaptation. Therefore, the research team concluded that the Kampung Adat Segunung could indeed be an example of a tourist destination in a tourist village that has implemented digital technology for its management. But behind all that, what must also be considered is the readiness of destination managers to make digital technology part of their daily activities and priorities so that the maximum use of digital technology can be made.

Abstract

This research aims to identify the potential of the typical agricultural products of Cisangkal WIsata Village, namely mangosteen, tubers, durian, honje and several other agricultural products which are the main income of the community, developed not only as agricultural products, but have added value so that they can become superior products owned by residents to increase the income of the surrounding community. According to Kotler (2000) regarding Product Development Strategy, there are 3 stages of product development strategy that can be carried out, namely a quality improvement strategy, a privilege improvement strategy and a style (appearance) improvement strategy. Everything is done so that the product can have added value for commercialisation. The research method used is a direct survey method to obtain information related to agricultural products in the Cisangkal Tourism Village. The research team also used interview and observation methods to obtain the data. Based on the research results, it was found that one of the identified agricultural products that can be developed is Honje (Kecombrang) forest, which is spread over approximately 1 ha in plantations owned by residents and village owners, only used for daily household needs, and only by 1 person who produces it into Honje Juice using simple equipment and technology. From the results of this research, it can be concluded that forest honje (combrang) is one of the agricultural products that has the potential to be developed into a food and beverage product that can be commercialised, so that it will be able to improve the economy of the residents of Cisangkal Tourism Village. Strengthening knowledge and skills for the residents of Cisangkal Tourism Village regarding product development, product packaging, hygiene, sanitation and also marketing (branding). Abstract

Urban Green Open Space/Ruang Terbuka Hijau Kawasan Perkotaan (RTHKP) is an essential part of the urban population ecosystem, one of which is the City of Bandung. One of the uses of RTHKP is as a city park, an alternative for tourist activities. This study aims to evaluate the use of City Parks as one of the RTHKP assets by understanding the perceptions and activity preferences of residents of Greater Bandung (Bandung City, Bandung Regency, West Bandung Regency, Cimahi) related to city parks in Bandung City. This research uses quantitative methods with descriptive analysis to understand perceptions and preferences as well as regression and correlation analysis to understand the relationship between the two variables. Two hundred sixty-five resident respondents who have visited one of the eleven city parks in Bandung City have completed the questionnaire. The result is that the City Park aspect in Bandung City can be a place for recreation and a children's playground that gets the highest score for perceptions and willingness to use public transportation, and the safety aspect still needs to be considered. Meanwhile, for activity preferences in city parks in Bandung City, the highest position is a place for refreshing, recreation and sports, and the lowest is for socialising and inviting children to play. There is a significant relationship between the perceptions and preferences of residents of Greater Bandung, especially for recreational and refreshing activities.
