Abstract

Learning motivation is an important factor that influences students’ success in mathematics learning. However, many students still have low motivation to learn mathematics because they perceive the subject as difficult and less interesting. Therefore, an appropriate strategy is needed to improve students’ learning motivation. This community service activity aimed to strengthen students’ motivation in learning mathematics through the implementation of the Successful Student Strategy (3S) for junior high school students in Cirebon Regency. The method used in this activity was a participatory mentoring approach consisting of several stages, namely socialization, training, learning practice, and reflection. The evaluation of the activity was conducted using a mathematics learning motivation questionnaire based on a Likert scale administered before and after the program, supported by observations of students’ learning activities during the implementation. The results showed that the implementation of the Successful Student Strategy (3S) was able to increase students’ motivation in learning mathematics. This improvement was indicated by the increase in the average motivation score from 3.02 before the activity to 4.10 after the activity. In addition, students also demonstrated higher participation in learning activities, greater confidence in solving mathematical problems, and increased willingness to express their opinions during discussions. These findings indicate that the Successful Student Strategy (3S) can serve as an effective alternative approach to enhance students’ motivation in mathematics learning. This community service activity is expected to contribute to improving the quality of mathematics learning in schools by strengthening students’ motivation and promoting more effective learning strategies.

Abstract

The existence of mangroves directly plays a role in maintaining the balance of the coastal ecosystem and providing benefits, economy and social base of the local community. One of them is that mangroves are used as tourist attractions. However, it is very unfortunate that during pandemic, mangrove tourism has become empty pf visitors. Many new innovations have emerged to revive mangrove tourisme, one of which is the author who created batik. Cirebon is famous for its batik, namely Mega Mendung,, so Manggarang batik will become its characteristic and Mundu. Batik is also one of Indonesia’s indigenous heritage which has been recognized worldwide. Manggarang batik is designed with special motifs of Mangroves, Resources such as shells and also a tool for finding shells, namely the rake (garok).the process of making batik takes quite a long time, approximately 1 to 3 months, so in this article the batik is still in the decolorization.

Abstract

The aim of this Community Service activity in the School Environment is to provide insight and knowledge about the dangerous impacts of gadgets if you are not wise in using gadgets. This service needs to be done because there is a gap between age and technology so this is important to anticipate bad things that will happen to students. Then at the same time coaching students to reduce playing with gadgets. For this reason, this service also involves teachers. On this occasion, a pre-test (before) and post-test (after) this service can be carried out so that the extent to which we understand the impact of gadgets can be clearly measured. The service steps consist of the preparation stage, activity implementation stage, and evaluation stage. This service was carried out on March 25 2024, attended by 112 students and 6 teachers at SDSI Al-Farabi. So, from the results of the pre-test and post-test, there is an increase in understanding and new insights regarding the impact of gadgets on students and the final result is that students want to reduce playing with gadgets.

Abstract

The 6–24 month period is a critical phase in the First 1,000 Days of Life, significantly impacting child growth and development. Adequate complementary feeding with protein-rich snacks is essential to meet increased nutritional needs. Tofu, as a plant-based protein source, has potential as a nutritious complementary food for toddlers. This study aimed to improve mothers’ knowledge and skills in preparing tofu-based complementary foods through participatory training and demonstration. The intervention included nutrition education, practical tofu pudding preparation, and evaluation via observation, feedback, and group discussions involving 35 mothers in Sukajadi Village. Results showed improved understanding of tofu’s benefits and enhanced ability to prepare balanced complementary foods. The tofu pudding provided 137 kcal and 6.4 g protein per serving, fulfilling 10–15% of toddlers’ daily protein needs. Participants found the training practical, affordable, and effective in empowering them to prepare balanced complementary foods. This approach has potential to support improved child nutrition and stunting prevention in the community. Keywords: Complementary Feeding; Snacks; Tofu; 1000 days of life

Abstract

Jajanan anak-anak saat ini semakin banyak variasinya namun demikian konsumsinya harus diperhatikan karena jajanan itu bisa mengandung zat aditif yang tidak baik bagi kesehatan. Tanaman bunga telang merupakan tanaman yang menghasilkan bunga berwarna ungu cerah dengan struktur bunga seperti kupu-kupu. Dari hasil penelitian, metabolit sekunder dalam bunga telang diantaranya adalah flavonoid, saponin, dan polifenol. Selain dimanfaatkan dalam bidang kesehatan, bunga telang saat ini mulai dilirik oleh industri pangan dan kosmetik sebagai zat pewarna makananan atau minuman berwarna biru. Namun demikian masih banyak yang belum mengetahui cara pemanfaatan bunga telang dalam mengolah makanan dan minuman sehat. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah untuk mengedukasi masyarakat tentang khasiat bunga telang dan pengolahannya menjadi minuman kekinian yang menarik namun sehat bagi masyarakat khususnya anak-anak. Metode kegiatan yang digunakan adalah ceramah, demonstrasi, dan diskusi. Peserta kegiatan adalah kader dan warga. Dari hasil angket diperoleh respon positif peserta terhadap kegiatan yang telah dilakukan. Peserta berpendapat bahwa kegiatan yang dilakukan disampaikan dengan jelas dan menarik sehingga meningkatkan pemahaman peserta.
