The emphasis of the Journal is on practical advancements and their application to business and technology, as well as empirical, practical, and policy-oriented in community development and other local wisdom. Abstract

This Community Service (PKM) activity aimed to improve early childhood financial literacy through the “Happy to Save” (GEMBUNG) and “Happy to Record” (GENCAT) programs for students at the An-Najwa Al-Qur'an Education Park (TPA), Palasan, Cakung, East Jakarta. The program was motivated by the low awareness of elementary school-aged children regarding saving habits and simple financial record-keeping. The activity was implemented through educational sessions, simulations, games, and direct mentoring, using an interactive, practical approach. The program consisted of two main activities: education on the importance of saving and training in simple financial recording using mini savings books. The results showed increased student understanding and awareness of saving behavior, reflected in students' ability to distinguish needs from wants, record daily savings, and begin saving regularly after the program. Participants also demonstrated high enthusiasm and active participation throughout the activities. In addition, the program received positive support from TPA management and parents, indicating its potential for sustainability as part of character-building education. Therefore, the GEMBUNG and GENCAT programs can serve as an initial foundation for developing financial literacy and responsible financial behavior from an early age.

Abstract

Low financial literacy among rural women in Indonesia, especially housewives, remains a major barrier to improving family welfare. This community service program aimed to strengthen family economic capacity through financial education and Islamic investment training for PKK (Family Welfare Empowerment) members in Karangmulya Village. The main issues identified were limited knowledge of household financial management and low awareness of legal, safe, and affordable Islamic investment instruments. Conducted in February 2025, the program applied participatory training methods, including interactive lectures, focus group discussions, budgeting simulations, and hands-on Islamic investment practice using the Bibit platform. Program evaluation employed pre-test and post-test assessments, participant observation, and feedback surveys. The results showed significant improvement in participants’ financial literacy, particularly in budgeting, saving, emergency fund planning, and understanding Islamic investment concepts. Participants also gained greater confidence in managing household finances and showed increased interest in starting small-scale investments. Several participants independently formed financial learning groups after the program. These findings indicate that community-based Islamic financial education can effectively enhance financial awareness and promote more inclusive household financial behavior among rural women. Integrating Islamic financial education into regular PKK activities can support sustainable community economic empowerment.

Abstract

Instilling values of caring, empathy, and cooperation from an early age is essential in shaping future generations’ character. A major challenge faced by the Gondangdia RPTRA community and its partners is the limited availability of structured, enjoyable, and sustainable educational activities that support children’s social character, creativity, communication skills, and sense of community. Children aged 8–10 need a safe and accessible learning environment that balances cognitive, motor, social, and emotional development. To address this issue, educational and social activities were organized at Gondangdia RPTRA in collaboration with the SEKOCI community. As a child-friendly public space, the RPTRA provides an ideal environment for interactive learning. The program included collaborative games, creative plaster coloring, and basic English learning activities. These methods encouraged children to learn through play, communication, teamwork, and creative expression. The activities improved children’s social sensitivity, self-confidence, creativity, and community awareness. In addition, the program strengthened partner involvement in providing positive mentoring, enabling character-building activities to continue sustainably through future community initiatives.

Abstract

This community service program aimed to empower homemakers in the Pamulang Indah Complex through wire flower-making training integrated with basic entrepreneurship education. The program was initiated in response to the limited technical skills and entrepreneurial literacy among women, despite their potential contribution to supporting household income. The implementation employed a participatory, applied approach comprising preliminary surveys, planning, pre-tests, entrepreneurship counseling, hands-on training sessions, and post-test evaluations. A total of 60 housewives participated in the activity. The evaluation results demonstrated noticeable improvements in participants' understanding of entrepreneurship, development of creativity, and technical skills in producing wire-flower handicrafts. Participants also showed greater self-confidence and enthusiasm in exploring home-based business opportunities after completing the training. Furthermore, they were able to create aesthetically valuable products with market potential independently. The program strengthened household economic resilience, encouraged women's empowerment, and supported the growth of community-based creative economic activities. From a managerial perspective, the findings emphasize the importance of continuous mentoring, product innovation, packaging enhancement, and digital marketing support to ensure the sustainability, competitiveness, and long-term development of small-scale creative businesses within the community.

Abstract

This community service program aimed to enhance digital literacy, technological understanding, and sustainability awareness among secondary school students through an IoT-based light detection project using BBC Micro:bit. The program addressed students' limited exposure to practical Internet of Things applications and energy-efficient technologies in school learning environments. A Project-Based Learning (PjBL) approach was applied through interactive workshops involving IoT concepts, sensor technology, and block-based programming using the MakeCode platform. Participants designed and tested a light-detection system capable of automatically responding to environmental lighting conditions. Program evaluation was conducted using observations, practical assessments, questionnaires, and reflective discussions to measure participants' understanding, technological skills, and learning engagement. The findings indicated improvements in students' understanding of IoT concepts, programming logic, sensor applications, and awareness of energy efficiency practices. Participants also demonstrated increased confidence, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities during practical activities. In addition, teachers gained insights into integrating technology-based and sustainability-oriented learning into classroom instruction. The program highlights the potential of experiential IoT learning to support STEM education, strengthen digital competencies, and promote environmentally responsible behavior among secondary school students
