Abstract

Complete basic immunization (CBI) in toddlers is a crucial aspect of public health. It can protect children from infections that can kill or disable them. Nevertheless, the CBI is still low in the working area of Lubuk Buaya Public Health Center, standing at 49.7%, while the national target achievement is 95%, indicating a disparity of 45.3%. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors associated with the provision of complete basic immunization to toddlers in Pasia Nan Tigo Village, Lubuk Buaya Public Health Center Working Area. The type of research was quantitative with a cross-sectional design. The researchers conducted the study from March to August 2023. The population of this study were mothers who had toddlers who were residing in Pasia Nan Tigo Village, as many as 105 people. Accidental sampling was used to collect 51 respondents. We obtained data by questionnaire and interview. We analyzed the data using the chi-square test. The result found that 58.8% of respondents did not provide complete basic immunization to toddlers, 64.7% of respondents had a low level of knowledge, 60.8% of respondents did not have available facilities and infrastructure, 62.7% of respondents stated that the role of health workers was not satisfying, and 62.7% of respondents did not get family support. The level of knowledge, availability of facilities and infrastructure, the role of health workers, and family support were associated with the provision of complete basic immunization in toddlers. Knowledge, facilities and infrastructure, health workers, and family support are factors that can influence the provision of complete basic immunization for toddlers. It is expected for the head of the Lubuk Buaya Public Health Center to complete Integrated Healthcare Center tools such as reading materials, brochures, and leaflets so that Integrated Healthcare Center services can motivate cadres to change the mother’s behavior. Abstract

Diarrhea is characterized by the presence of watery bowel motions that occur three or more times within 24 hours. Inadequate management of diarrhea in children might lead to fatality. One method involves administering honey treatment to decrease the frequency of bowel movements. The objective was to elucidate the implementation of a way to reduce bowel movement frequency. The design involved a case study conducted on two toddlers suffering from diarrhea. The solution involved administering honey therapy three times daily for five days. Data analysis and presentation in case studies were conveyed through written text, which presented the facts in a narrative format. The use of honey therapy resulted in a reduction in the frequency of bowel movements in subjects 1 and 2. The post-intervention frequency of bowel movement in subject 1 was three times per day, with a mushy consistency. In subject 2, it was four times per day, again with a mushy consistency. Nurses at the Community Health Center (Puskesmas) can offer guidance on using honey therapy to parents whose children are suffering from diarrhea.

Abstract

The amount of internet usage has increased following the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. In order to reduce the transmission of COVID-19, the government implemented a policy mandating remote learning. Generation Z finds learning online at home enjoyable, and there is a growing trend of using the Internet for educational purposes. This study examined the characteristics of Internet, smartphone, and social media usage among Generation Z during the COVID-19 pandemic, which is expected to diminish by early 2022. A descriptive study was conducted, and data was collected through a survey of 50 respondents belonging to the Gen Z demographic, specifically aged 12-15 years, in South Jakarta. The research variables encompassed internet usage, smartphone usage, social media usage, and information regarding internet usage. The data analysis performed univariate analysis. The research results showed that the characteristics of Gen Z in South Jakarta are spending between 1 and 8 hours on social media. Most of them owned and used smartphones. Popular platforms for Gen Z were YouTube, TikTok, WhatsApp, Instagram, and Telegram. They posted photos, videos, and stories on social media but rarely trusted the information there. WhatsApp groups were also used for the learning process. Gen Z got information about internet usage from the people around them. To prevent the risks of excessive use of the Internet, smartphones, and social media, education for Gen Z still needs to be a concern.

Abstract

Sibling rivalry is an important aspect of child development and family dynamics, and understanding its prevalence, incidence, and risk factor is essential for addressing the potential negative effects on a child's emotional and social well-being. This study aims to determine the correlation between birth order and parenting style and sibling rivalry at Surau Gadang Subdistrict, Siteba, Padang City, Indonesia. A cross-sectional design was implemented. A simple random sampling technique was utilized for this research. Data analysis used univariate and bivariate. The results showed that more than half of the respondents (65.8%) whose parenting style was authoritarian experienced sibling competition. A total of 85 respondents to this study, with an average age of 37.2 years. We found that birth order (p-value=0.018), parenting style (p-value=0.040) have a significant correlation with sibling rivalry. Prior to becoming a parent, it is crucial to engage in thorough preparation. A health worker in a public health center should give information not only about health but also about parenting skills. Abstract

Indonesia continues to face the issue of stunting. Infants with a body length of less than 48 cm and a body weight of less than 2500 grams are susceptible to stunting. This study aimed to examine the variables that impact the weight and body length of neonates. This research was characterized as observational analytic, utilizing a cross-sectional approach. The population comprises mothers who gave birth in Tulungagung Regency in 2021. The research sample consists of mothers who met the inclusion criteria for maternal pregnancies, including high-risk and got assistance from health cadres during pregnancy. The sample also includes the babies born to these mothers. The data was gathered by testing hemoglobin levels, stature, mass, mid-upper arm circumference, and the length and weight of newborn infants. The data were subjected to analysis using multiple linear regression tests. The maternal weight gain during pregnancy and mid-upper arm circumference had the potential to impact the body length and weight of the baby. Meeting the appropriate nutritional requirements during pregnancy enhances the nutritional well-being of expectant mothers, enabling them to offer optimal nourishment for their developing fetuses and promoting proper growth and development.

Abstract

A hospital is an institution whose primary function is to provide health services to the community. One of the government's efforts to provide health services to the community is implementing the National Health Insurance Program (JKN), which the Social Security Program Organizing Agency organizes in the health sector. This research analyzed the factors associated with delays in BPJS claims at Dr. Hospital. Reksodiwiryo Padang. This research was a descriptive quantitative study with a cross-sectional study design. The research showed that six medical record files (6.5%) had inaccurate codes, while 86 (93.5%) used the correct ones. In addition, 91 files (98.9%) of inpatient medical records needed to be completed, and only one file (1.1%) was completed. Inaccuracy in diagnostic coding affects delays in submitting claims at Dr. Hospital. Reksodiwiryo Padang. It is hoped that officers can understand the coding rules based on ICD-10 for diagnoses and ICD-9 CM for actions or procedures to guarantee the quality of service at the hospital.

Abstract

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a major contributor to illness and death. COPD can result in the obstruction of airflow and disturbance of the respiratory system. These symptoms have a tendency to be enduring and progressively worse. In Indonesia, the number of persons affected by COPD is estimated to be 9.2 million, with smokers being the primary cause of COPD cases. Hence, the objective of this study was to determine the risk variables linked to the occurrence of COPD among smokers in Bandung City in 2022. This study employed a cross-sectional design, with a sample size of 189 smokers aged over 40 years in Bandung City. The participants were selected via total sampling. This study employed secondary research methodology, utilising chi-square and binary regression analysis for data analysis. The findings indicated that the prevalence of high-risk COPD cases in Bandung City in 2022 was 12.7%. An relationship was seen between age, smoking intensity, namely 20-30 packs of cigarettes per year, and level of physical activity. After controlling for age, physical activity, and degree of smoking, the primary cause of the increased risk of COPD was the consumption of 20-30 packs of cigarettes per year (PR= 11.34; 95% CI = 1.65 to 77.67). This study highlights the significance of lifestyle interventions, such as smoking cessation programmes and CERDIK's behaviours, in managing COPD.
