After implementing the 'Writing About Feelings' strategy, in cycle I there was an increase to 60%, and in cycle II it reached 85%. This strategy has proven effective in increasing students' motivation and skills in reading and writing. Supporting factors include student enthusiasm and support from the school, while inhibiting factors include limited time and variations in students' initial abilities. In conclusion, the 'Writing About Feelings' strategy can improve the basic literacy skills of class II.A students at UPT SPF SDN Labuang Baji I. It is recommended that teachers can integrate this strategy in language learning and develop a variety of activities to accommodate diverse learning needs.

Abstract

Indonesia is one country which provides English learning for students from elementary to senior high school levels. The use of English is not only applied in formal situations such as school but also in informal situations such as using social media. The most popular social media used is YouTube. There is a comment feature that helps users leave comments to interact with each other. One of the contents that have a lot of comments is Nessie Judge, which talks about horror and conspiracy theories. What's interesting about this channel is that even though the content is in Indonesian, many comments are found in English. From this, the researcher tries to find out what types of affixes are often used in informal use.1) What are the types of derivational affixes used by commentator Nessie Judge's video on YouTube? 2) What are the types of Inflectional affixes used by commentator Nessie Judge's video on YouTube? To answer this question, the researcher uses a descriptive study with a qualitative approach to the 12 comments in Nessie Judge Video. From this study it was found that all types of Derivational affixes can be found such as Nominalizer, Verbalizer, Adverbializer, and adjectivalizer. Another result found that the type of Inflectional affixes was also found, namely type plural suffixes, third-person –singular present tense suffixes, present participle suffixes, past tense suffixes/ past participle suffixes, possessive suffixes, comparative degree suffixes. Also, for types of inflectional affixes or superlative degree suffixes you can see in the YouTube comments in the video.

Abstract

Saparan Bekakak is an annual tradition organized by the people of Ambarketawang. The series of traditions begin with the creation of bridal dolls, midodareni, arak-arakan, slaughtering of bridal dolls, and closed with slametan. This long-standing tradition, which the Dutch archives refer to as the remnants of sacrifice, underwent a cultural transformation. This happens due to external and internal factors. Therefore, this study aims to reveal the forms of cultural transformation in Saparan Bekakak and the factors that influence it. To analyze this, Koentjaraningrat's theory of the dynamics of society and culture is used. The theory explains that culture can transform due to internal factors, namely innovation and discovery, encouragement of new discoveries, innovation and evolution; and external factors diffusion, acculturation, assimilation. In the Saparan Bekakak ceremony, changes occur from external factors, namely diffusion and acculturation. Diffusion occurs when Javanese remix DJ music moves from social media into the procession of the arak-arakan. Acculturation also occurs when the ceremony uses Islamic prayers while maintaining the non-Islamic practices, namely the pounding of bride dolls, offerings, and others. In addition, cultural changes can occur due to natural changes due to human activities, namely the physical deformation of Gunung Gamping and its transformation into a cultural reserve, as well as the cessation of mining, making the number of sacrificed bridal dolls decrease.

Abstract

Hume's problem is a philosophical problem that is still controversial today. Hume asked what guarantees and assures us that the laws of physics will continue to apply in the future. Philosophers such as Immanuel Kant and Karl Popper explored Hume's problem in several ways. However, for Quentin Meillassoux, Kant and Popper's solutions do not answer the core of Hume's problem. He explained that there are two kinds of representations in seeing the response to this problem: the representation of science fiction and extro-scientific fiction. In his work, Meillassoux examines the arguments individually and offers solutions to the possibility of the extro-scientific fiction genre in literature. This article aims to review Meillassoux's book entitled Science Fiction and Science-Extro Fiction. This study uses a textual analysis method on Meillassoux's work entitled Science Fiction and Science-Extro Fiction. The results of the analysis of this article reveal that extro-scientific fiction can be distinguished by genre from science fiction within Meillassoux's framework of thought. What is expected from Meillassoux's explanation in this article is to discuss extra-scientific fiction as an alternative medium for thinking about the future full of possibilities.

Abstract

Javanese is one of Indonesia's most significant regional languages, rich in philosophical values, traditions, and local wisdom. As one of the main tools of cultural communication, this language functions as a medium of conversation and as a carrier of identity and expression of social values of Javanese society. However, in recent decades, the inheritance of Javanese has faced various significant challenges. This inheritance, which should start from the family—as the primary social unit—is now hampered by various factors, such as changes in lifestyle, globalization, and less supportive education policies. This essay aims to analyze the challenges of the inheritance of Javanese in three main dimensions: the dominance of Indonesian and globalization, minimal exposure to Javanese in families, and the limitations of Javanese language learning in formal institutions.
