This article discusses the importance of developing recount text writing skills for junior high school students in English language learning. In the 2013 curriculum, English language skills are very important in preparing a generation that can compete globally. However, writing skills often receive less attention, and students tend to write only because the teacher commands them. The picture series method is an effective approach to improving the ability to write recount texts. This method involves a series of pictures to help students string past events into a structured narrative. The results showed that the picture series method can increase students' learning motivation, overcome barriers in writing, and strengthen teacher-student relationships. This research uses a literature review approach and field research at SMP Negri 4 Pematang Siantar to collect data on the effectiveness of the serial image method in improving the ability to write recount texts. Through literature analysis and observation of students, it was found that most students showed interest and enthusiasm in using the serial image method. A total of 81% of students succeeded in writing recount texts with the help of this method. In conclusion, the picture series method is effective in overcoming the problem of students' writing ability and improving learning interaction. This article suggests that teachers use the series picture method to learn to recount texts to create a more interesting and creative learning environment for junior high school students. This method can help students develop better thinking skills, emotional responses, and writing skills.

The independence of a nation creates a new perspective on specific communities. Those odds with the general view are wrong and mistaken. This situation often happened to Indo-Dutch groups outside politics who were not involved in the hierarchies of past political practices. Indo-Dutch society in post-independence Indonesia is in the flow of national transitional cultural interests. Novel Godhane Prawan Indo Asmara's work tells of cultural pressures that affect the psychology of an Indo-Dutch girl named Evie Tavernier. This paper examines the figure of Evie Tavernier as part of the social reality of post-independence subalternities. The analysis results concluded that the independence of the Indonesian side gave rise to a cultural and identity revolution. The cultural defeat of the West over its colonial lands gave rise to a counter-identity: the East, which has the right to itself. Rapid socio-cultural changes become a dilemma because of the reversal of power. As a minority, even though indigenous figures accept Evie Tavernier, they do not necessarily unite in the mainstream of the majority culture. He remains alone and independent of other identities, out of the vortex of culture around him. He is in the vortex of the cultural power of local figures during his condition of being marginalized by the community association. In Gayatri Spivak's view, the character of Evie Tavernier is a picture of a subaltern or other in the currents of Dutch-Indonesian culture.

Within the development of the era, the meaning of the words also developed and changed. One of the word-meaning conversions in society is the conversion of the term of address, particularly in kinship relationships. A case study in Gedang Kulut Village revealed that the word of speech Cak (Old Brother) and Mbak (Old Sister) is not only used to call the old brother and sister but also refers to the Man (Uncle) and Bebek (Aunt). The other conversion uses Pak De (Uncle) and Mak De (Aunt) to substitute the term of address for grandmother and grandfather. The paper aims to analyse the representation of speech in the Javanese language used in Gedang Kulut Village, Gresik District. The methodology uses a descriptive qualitative method that also emphasises the semantics approach. The result shows a unique word-meaning conversion in the Javanese term of address used in Gedang Kulut Village. Moreover, the mutation appearing in the word of speech causes the social marks to change either up or down.

This research explores classical Javanese manuscripts in correlation with diaspora identity memories. Java, which is now part of Indonesia, during the nineteenth century was a place of meeting and hope for various ethnic groups. These events are recorded in cultural memory in classical Javanese texts and formed in Javanese cultural narratives. This research is a qualitative research approach postcolonial. The hermeneutic method analyses cultural phenomena that develop in Javanese society. Data in Javanese chronicle and piwulang manuscripts combined with Javanese cultural traditions rooted in society. Critical analysis is carried out to identify the Javanese concept in the track record of noble culture. The research results show that Javanese culture is presented in the symbols, values, and rituals contained in the chronicle and piwulang texts as markers and evidence of the existence of diaspora contact in Java, which formed a new culture. Javanese identity was formed through the patronage of the king's power. Javanese texts record events from birth, life cycle and death, becoming a container for unifying various crystallized cultural elements. Acculturation, syncretism, and maintaining the cultural identity of each ethnic diaspora in the expression of various cultural events. The cultural identity that crystallizes in the complexity of values, traditions and cultural characteristics is embedded in the hearts of the Javanese people. The pinnacle of Javanese identity is a philosophy of life that emphasizes the values of politeness, balance and harmony in social relations, which are crystallized in the concept of 'rasa' or the feeling of being a shared identity between natives and the diaspora in Java.

Learning to read and write Javanese script is a skill that students must master from elementary school to high school/equivalent in Javanese language lessons. In reality, there are several problems in this learning, including (1) teachers' difficulties in teaching Javanese script, (2) students having difficulty understanding Javanese script material, and (3) students feeling bored because of the minimal use of Javanese script learning media. Media is a means to make it easier for students to understand the material. The forms of media used can be varied, such as interactive media. The research method used is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR), which identifies, reviews, evaluates, and interprets all available research. Based on the research results, 17 articles on the development of interactive media in learning to read and write Javanese script were found in the Google Scholar database with the help of the Publish or Perish application. The media that has been developed is intended for elementary, middle and high school students and even the general public. Interactive media is developed using the latest technology, such as Adobe Flash software, Macromedia Flash, RPG Maker MV, and Augmented Reality (AR) applications. With these facilities, researchers use various research methods, including ADDIE, Research and Development (R&D), Virtual Machine Forensic Analysis and Recovery (VMFAR), Waterfall, Lee & Owens, Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC), and others. Based on the test results, it can be seen that interactive media has various benefits, such as students becoming more active and independent in learning, the quality of student learning, making it easier for teachers to explain the material, making it easier for students to understand the material, and not being easily damaged.
