Abstract

The aim of this research was to examine the creative thinking skills in mathematics of grade IV students at SDN 192 Pekanbaru, especially in the context of Geometry and multiplication operations. Mathematics is known as a universal language that has significant relevance in various aspects of life. In the context of mathematics, creative thinking skills are the key to approaching problems using innovative methods and creating alternative solutions. In mathematics, understanding and developing creative thinking skills is considered valuable in improving students' understanding of Geometry and multiplication operations. This study uses quantitative research methods and measures students' creative mathematical thinking skills through tests that include indicators such as elaboration, fluency, flexibility, and originality. From this observation, results were obtained which stated that the creative thinking abilities of class IV students were quite adequate overall. However, authenticity indicators were found to be underdeveloped. In conclusion, mathematics learning needs to place more emphasis on the elaboration of students' creative thinking skills, especially in the context of Geometry and multiplication operations, to increase students' understanding and enthusiasm for learning.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a product in the form of a herbarium collection of ferns that can be used as a learning medium both theoretically and practically in the subject of lower plant taxonomy at UIN Mataram. This research is a development research that refers to the Borg and Gall model. The sample used was fourth semester students taken by random sampling. The data obtained were analyzed by descriptive qualitative and descriptive quantitative. The herbarium book media was validated by media experts with the results of product validation test data analysis obtained a percentage of 84% with valid criteria. After making improvements according to the suggestions from the validator, then continued with small-scale product trials with a percentage value of 85% which showed that the fern herbarium book media was valid and well used in learning, especially in low-level plant taxonomy courses on Pteridophyta material

Abstract

The problem behind this research occurs in the learning process related to student learning outcomes that are still below the minimum completeness criteria (KKM = 75), where students who reach the KKM as many as 7 people out of 16 students (43%), have difficulty in remembering the material about the diversity of Indonesian culture, such as the diversity of traditional houses, traditional dances, and traditional clothes, do not create interest in learning and attract students in the learning process. This study aims to develop pop-up book learning media, to analyze the feasibility of the developed pop-up book learning media, and to determine the responses of students and educators to the developed pop-up book learning media. The type of research used is R&D with research and development procedural from Borg and Gall which has been modified by Sugiyono with development steps, namely; (1) the potential and problem stages by observing, (2) the data collection stage by conducting research activities, (3) media design, (4) media validation, (5) media revision phase I, (6) trials, and (7) media revision. This pop-up book learning media was validated by a media expert validator, and tested on educators and fourth grade students of MI NW Bagik Payung. The results showed that the level of validity of the product development of pop up book media on the material of Indonesian cultural diversity according to media experts was 94% in the Very Eligible category. The assessment of the response of educators and students at MI NW Bagik Payung is 100% categorized as Very Practical. And IK (indicator of success) 87.5% categorized as Very Effective. Students are also enthusiastic when participating in learning and are very happy when given learning media in the form of pop up book media. The conclusion of this study is that the pop up book media is effective and appropriate for use in the material on Indonesian cultural diversity for class IV SD/MI. Suggestions for further research is that it is better to develop more interesting learning media to help students learn and perfect the product to get to a mass product.

Abstract

The inquiry approach is one of the approaches that can be applied to learning Physics in high school. Inquiry is a discovery approach, but it is different from the discovery approach. Inquiry emphasizes more on searching. Inquiry requires students to become researchers or scientists, but in the context of learning, students are still guided by the teacher, therefore inquiry is said to be a guided discovery approach. Inquiry can be carried out through several systematic steps, namely: 1) Formulate a problem; 2) Propose hypotheses; 3) Collect data; 4) Test hypotheses based on data collected; and 5) Make conclusions. Applying the inquiry approach in mathematics learning can help students learn to find the origin of a formula, concept, or theory in physics. The main targets of inquiry learning activities are (1) maximum student involvement in the process of learning activities; (2) the direction of activities logically and systematically on learning objectives; and (3) developing an attitude of trust in students about what is found in the inquiry process.

Abstract

The study explained the influence of the contextual learning model and critical thinking competence in enhancing argumentative writing proficiency. The sample is 50 students taken by using a multistage sampling technique. The study results indicated that the contextual learning model group has more significant influence than the non-contextual learning model group. There was an interaction between the learning model and critical thinking competence. There was a significant argumentative writing skill difference between the contextual learning model group and the non-contextual learning model group with high critical thinking competence. The argumentative writing skill and contextual learning model were the same as the argumentative writing skill and non-contextual learning model group of low critical thinking ability. This means that critical thinking competence and contextual learning models have a significant influence on argumentative writing proficiency.
