Abstract

This study is investigated the nexus between temperature and GDP in Bangladesh and how GDP is affected by carbon emission, rainfall and temperature. The ARDL bound test is employed to examine the cointegration relationship among the variables and findings suggest that variables are cointegrated in both cases of dependent variable temperature and dependent variable of GDP. Results mirror that economic growth affect negatively the temperature and statistically significant for short run and long run. On the other hand, carbon emission and rainfall have statistically significant short run positive impact on GDP growth. The ECM result indicates the equilibrium converges to steady state at 78% annually when dependent variable is temperature and equilibrium also converges to steady state at 0.0891% annually, when dependent variable is GDP. Granger Causality test finds a one-way causal relationship between GDP and carbon emissions in both situation of the different dependent variables. Aftermath, results would say that carbon emission and rainfall have short run salutary impact on economic growth and the economic growth is conducive to reduce temperature in Bangladesh that moves to sustainable development. It might address underlying economic transitions such as shifts to greener industries or government interventions that promote sustainability. It will help researcher and policymakers for further study to identify environmental friendly growth projects that lead to reduce temperature in Bangladesh.

Abstract

Indonesia is the world’s largest archipelago, rich in marine resources. However, the management of these resources faces a number of challenges, including overexploitation, climate change and uncoordinated policies. This research aims to assess how blue accounting, marine policy and climate change affect the sustainability of marine ecosystems. Blue accounting is a strategy for measuring the economic, social and environmental value of marine ecosystems. It supports environmentally sound business practices and increases transparency in the management of marine resources. Marine policies, such as the World Maritime Axis vision and PIT, aim to ensure the sustainable use of the oceans. However, overlapping regulations, resource exploitation and climate change impacts such as extreme weather events and sea level rise are degrading marine ecosystems and threatening coastal communities. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method with a literature review approach to explore the relationship between these three factors. The results show that the implementation of blue accounting and appropriate marine policies, coupled with climate change mitigation, can maintain the sustainability of marine ecosystems and support sustainable economic development.

Abstract

An economic system that eliminates material and energy loops in systems of   production and consumption is known as the circular economy (CE). In this regard, digital technologies (DT) are viewed as answers for the implementation of the Circular Economy. Even though digital technologies are being used more and more in industry, little is known about how they specifically affect the circular economy. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to determine whether and how a limited number of organizations are utilizing digital technologies to support their circular economy and sustainability goals. inductive research approach, which using questionnaires to gather data from IT directors, senior IT professionals, or organization managers in a variety of organizations. Abstract

Companies are driving a shift in the global business paradigm to not only achieve financial benefits, but also pay attention to social and ecological responsibilities as part of their sustainability strategy. The principles of environment, social issues, and governance (ESG) are the main settings for assessing and managing non-financial effects that affect a company's services and reputation. The purpose of this study is to investigate the implementation of ESG as a sustainability strategy for companies through literature research from various academic sources and business reports. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of ESG offers significant benefits, including increased operational efficiency, fame, funding, and competitiveness. However, Indonesian companies still face challenges, including limited resources, lack of understanding of management, and integrated reporting standards. This study confirms that the integration of ESG into business strategy is not only a moral and regulatory requirement, but also a competitive advantage in addressing global dynamics, and supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Sacrificing Paradise: Indonesia’s Green Energy Ambitions and the Future of Raja Ampat Maspul, Kurniawan Arif

Abstract

Raja Ampat, Indonesia’s ecological crown jewel, stands on the brink of ruin. Revered as the Amazon of the seas, this marine sanctuary harbors 75% of the world’s coral species and anchors the Coral Triangle’s climate resilience. Yet, a 2025 illegal nickel mining scandal exposed a harrowing paradox: the global rush for green energy minerals is devastating the ecosystems that sustain life. Enabled by weak governance, regulatory capture, and greenwashing, extractive industries have violated protected waters and Indigenous rights, threatening both biodiversity and cultural heritage. This study explores the environmental, geopolitical, and social fallout of Raja Ampat’s exploitation, revealing how the Global North’s decarbonization agenda externalizes ecological harm to the Global South. It argues that safeguarding Raja Ampat is not just a national duty but a global moral imperative. True sustainability demands centering Indigenous sovereignty, reforming environmental governance, and building ethical, transparent supply chains. Raja Ampat’s fate is a decisive moment for planetary stewardship — a test of whether humanity will prioritize ecological integrity over extractive greed.
