Abstract

A reliable and integrated security system is necessary to maintain the security and privacy of residents, providing a sense of security and comfort in their living environment. Threats such as theft, vandalism, and other criminal acts underscore the need for more sophisticated security solutions. A residential portal security system that uses ultrasonic sensors to detect incoming vehicles and a camera module to take a picture of the vehicle's license plate. This system is designed to increase security and efficiency in managing access to housing, as well as facilitate residents in and out of parking areas using license plate recognition technology. With this system vehicles located in residential areas tiban 1 will be safer because the portal on this system can only be open if the license plate is registered in the database and this system uses Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology that is able to read the license plate accurately. The system works well in opening the portal automatically when a registered vehicle is detected. This process takes about 10 seconds from the recording of the license plate until the command to open the portal is sent to the servo motor. From the tests carried out, the system managed to recognize 9 out of 10 vehicle license plates with an accuracy rate of 90%. This shows that the license plate recognition technology used in this system, which involves the ESP8266 camera and microcontroller, works very effectively and efficiently.

Abstract

Steganography is an art in hiding data information in a media that is not suspicious where only the intended person knows the information. One of the popular steganography techniques is the Least Significant Bit (LSB) which is often used to hide confidential information into digital files such as images, audio, and even video. This research will produce an implementation of steganography with the LSB method to insert text into images that will provide protection for secret messages without reducing or damaging the visual quality of the image. This technique will take the least important bit which will then be given a text message insertion. In the process of inserting messages with this method, binary message data will be inserted into the bits on each color component (Red, Green, Blue) in the image pixels sequentially. Then the extraction process will be carried out in retrieving the message that was previously inserted into the digital image. Based on the implementation results, it shows that the LSB method has a high success rate in inserting text messages without any difference between the original image and the steganography results. Then the text can also be extracted as long as there has been no modification process on the image. The results of this implementation will further provide an overview that steganography techniques can be the best solution for simple but efficient data protection.

Abstract

Information security is an urgent need in today's digital era, especially to protect confidential data from unauthorized access. This research proposes the application of steganography using the Least Significant Bit (LSB) method to hide text and files in PNG and BMP format images. This steganography technique aims to disguise the presence of confidential information, making it difficult to detect by third parties. The LSB method allows the insertion of information without significantly reducing the visual quality of the image. The developed application allows users to insert a secret message into an image and extract the information easily. Test results show that the application is effective in maintaining data confidentiality and integrity, and can save various file formats such as .txt, .docx, and .pdf. It is hoped that, by using this method, increasingly complex information security challenges can be overcome and provide additional protection to the copyright of digital products.

Abstract

Keeping ornamental fish in an Aquarium requires intensive care, particularly in maintaining a consistent feeding schedule and water quality. Negligence in maintenance can adversely affect the Aquarium ecosystem and fish health. Beyond cleanliness, the utilization of technology to create a more natural environment for the fish and a relaxing effect for the owners is still rarely developed. This research aims to design and build a microcontroller-based Smart Aquarium System as an efficient and interactive solution for automated fish care. This automation and educational medium is expected to assist user in managing Aquariums without the need for continuous manual intervention. The System is designed to perform automatic feeding schedules, water purification through a filtration System, and is equipped with a relaxation music player feature to create a more conducive atmosphere. This study employs the Research and Development (R&D) method, which includes the stages of problem identification, data collection, System design, implementation, testing, and evaluation. The System is built using an Arduino microcontroller as the central controller, integrating components such as temperature/water quality sensors, a servo motor for the automatic feeder, a water pump for filtration, and an audio module for the music feature. The test results show that the device functions as designed, where the System is capable of delivering feed precisely according to the determined schedule and maintaining optimal water circulation. The implementation of this Smart Aquarium has proven effective in increasing the efficiency of ornamental fish maintenance and providing added value in the form of convenience through integrated automation features

Abstract

The development of digital technology demands smarter and more integrated security systems, particularly for critical infrastructure such as power plants, which play a crucial role in national energy distribution. Power plant monitoring systems that still use conventional authentication methods like static passwords and RFID have weaknesses such as the risk of theft, forgery, and access misuse. Furthermore, the lack of integration with Internet of Things (IoT) systems means that the monitoring process is not fully real-time and potentially causes delays in detecting intrusions and security threats. This situation highlights the need for a layered security system capable of accurately and dynamically verifying user identity. This research aims to implement facial recognition technology and the Time-Based One-Time Password (TOTP) algorithm as a layered authentication system for IoT-based power plant monitoring. The system is designed to combine facial biometric verification with a time-based OTP code that can be generated independently of an internet connection. The integration of these two methods is expected to improve access security by minimizing the risk of identity spoofing, credential theft, and cyberattacks. The methods used include system design, hardware and software implementation, and performance testing of authentication and IoT integration. The expected outcome of this research is the creation of a more adaptive, reliable security system capable of recording access activity in real time. Therefore, the implementation of IoT-based facial recognition and TOTP can be an effective solution for enhancing protection for power plant monitoring systems, which are vital national assets.
