Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas antibakteri kain poliester yang terdeposit senyawa HDTMS (P-HDTMS) terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25924. Larutan HDTMS dibuat dengan melarutkan senyawa HDTMS dalam etanol 4%. Larutan HDTMS kemudian didepositkan pada sampel kain Poliester. Uji aktivitas antibakteri P-HDTMS dilakukan melalui metode difusi dengan mengukur diameter zona bening di sekitar sampel. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa senyawa HDTMS telah terdeposit pada kain poliester. Hasil uji zona bening menunjukkan bahwa P-HDTMS memiliki diameter zona bening sebesar 9.25 mm pada waktu inkubasi selama 60 jam. Dengan demikian P-HDTMS mempunyai aktivitas antibakteri dalam menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25924.This research aims to determine the antibacterial activity of polyesterwhich was deposited by hexadecyltrimethoxysilane (HDTMS) against bacteria Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25924.The HDTMS solution was made by dissolving the HDTMS compound in 4% ethanol. The HDTMS solution was then deposited on a polyester fabric sample. The antibacterial activity test of P-HDTMS was conducted with diffusion method by measuring the diameter of clear zone around the sample.The results of this researchshowed that HDTMS compound has been deposited on polyester fabrics. The clear zone test results showed that P-HDTMS has diameter of clear zone of 9.25 mm at incubation time of 60 hours. Thus, P-HDTMS has an antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureusATCC 25924.

Abstract

The crude ethanol extracts of four Indonesian medicinal plants namely Curcuma xanthorrhiza Roxb.,Phyllanthus niruri Linn., Andrographis paniculata Ness., and Curcuma aeruginosa Roxb. wereexamined for their antioxidant (radical scavenging) activity using 2, 2-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl(DPPH) free radical and cytotoxicity using brine shrimp lethality test (BSLT). The total phenoliccontent was used the Folin-Ciocalteu method. IC50 values for DPPH radical scavenging activityranged from 14.5 to 178.5 μg/ml, with P. niruri having the lowest value and therefore the mostpotent, and C. aeruginosa having the highest value. LC50 values for BSLT ranged from 210.3 to593.2 μg/ml, with C. xanthorrhiza and A. paniculata having the lowest and highest values,respectively. The total phenolic content of the Indonesian plants ranged from 133.0 ±3.7 to863.3±54.7 mg tannic acid equivalent per 1 g extract, with C. aeruginosa and P. niruri having thelowest and highest values, respectively. A positive correlation between free radical scavengingactivity and the content of phenolic compounds was found in the four of Indonesian medicinal plants.

Abstract

In the course of our continuing search for anticancer compounds from Chisocheton species, three steroids, stigmast-5-en-3β-ol (1), stigmast-5-en-3β-ol-3-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (2) and stigmast-5,22-dien-3β-ol-3-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (3), were obtained from the stembark of Chisocheton celebicus. The structures of compound 1-3 were identified with spectroscopic data including IR, 1D-NMR, 2D-NMR and TOF-MS, as well as by comparing with those spectral data previously. Compounds 1-3, were evaluated for their cytotoxic effects against P-388 murine leukemia cells and displayed the cytotoxicity activity with IC50 values of 12.45 ± 0.050, 52.27 ± 0.031 and 62.52 ± 0.076 µg/mL, respectively.

Abstract

Pemanfaatnan Lempung Berpilar Untuk Pengelolaan Limbah Radioaktif. Lempung berpilar(pillared clay) dapat digunakan tidak hanya untuk material backfill (bahan pengisi) dalam suatusistim penyimpanan limbah radioaktif, tetapi juga sangat diperlukan untuk bahan sorben dalampengolahan limbah radioaktif aktivitas rendah dan sedang. Lempung berpilar dibuat dari bahanbentonit alam yang direaksikan dengan ZrOCl2.8H2O. Identifikasi lempung berpilar diukurdengan spektrometer X-Ray Fluorescence dan kemampuan penyerapan oleh lempung berpilarterhadap radionuklida Cs-137 pada konsentrasi CsCl 0,01M, 0,05M dan 0,1 M menghasilkannilai Kd (koefisien distribusi) berturut-turut sebesar 1619 ml/g, 1133 ml/g dan 800 ml/g.Lempung berpilar mampu menyerap radionuklida Cs-137 dalam limbah aktivitas rendah. Danbila digunakan sebagai material backfill, tidak hanya mampu menahan aliran air tanah, tapi jugamampu menahan lepasnya radionuklida ke lingkungan sehingga terjamin keselamatanpenyimpanan limbah radioaktif

Abstract

Abstrak Tepung sukun (Artocarpus communis) merupakan tepung yang bebas gluten sehingga baik digunakan sebagai alternatif dalam pembuatan cookies untuk anak penderita autis. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui tingkat kesukaan panelis terhadap cookies sukun dan berbagai formulasinya dibandingkan dengan cookies berbahan dasar tepung lain yang meliputi pengaruh penambahan bahan tambahan terhadap sifat kimia, fisika, daya terima cookies sukun, kadar kalsium dan fosforus cookies sukun, dan mengetahui cookies sukun tersukai memenuhi standar mutu cookies menurut SNI 01-2973-1992 atau tidak. Uji organoleptik dilakukan untuk mengetahui tingkat kesukaan dan penerimaan panelis terhadap cookies sukun dibandingkan dengan cookies berbahan dasar tepung lain (terigu, beras, sagu) dan cookies sukun dalam berbagai formulasi. Parameter yang digunakan meliputi warna, aroma, tekstur, rasa dan penerimaan keseluruhan. Uji kadar kalsium dilakukan menggunakan spektroskopi serapan atom pada λ 422.7 nm dan kadar fosforus menggunakan spektroskopi UV-Vis pada λ 880 nm. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan analisis sidik ragam anova dan analisis Duncan. Cookies sukun memiliki penerimaan yang rendah dibandingkan cookies tepung lain berdasarkan penerimaan rasa dan penerimaan umum. Formulasi cookies sukun memperbaiki sifat fisik (aroma, rasa, warna, dan tekstur) dan daya terima cookies sukun oleh panelis. Cookies sukun tersukai adalah formulasi 718 dengan bahan tambahan susu kedelai.  Mutu cookies sukun tersukai formulasi 718 sesuai dengan SNI 01-2973-1992 kecuali kadar protein yang masih rendah 8.05% dan terdapat kandungan tembaga dengan sebesar 1.56 ppm. Cookies sukun tersukai memiliki kadar kalsium dan fosforus tertinggi dibandingkan dengan tepung sukun dan cookies komersil untuk anak penderita autis sehingga cookies sukun tersukai sangat baik dikonsumsi oleh anak penderita autis. Kata kunci : Artocarpus communis, autis, cookies sukun, organoleptik, kalsium, fosforus Abstract Breadfruit (Artocarpus communis) has been reported as a functional food ingredient for autistic children. This study aims to determine the level of A panelist on cookies breadfruit and various formulations compared to other flour-based cookies which include the effect of additives on the properties of chemistry, physics, power accept cookies breadfruit, calcium and phosphorus levels cookies breadfruit, breadfruit cookies and find out the most preferred if it meets quality standards according to SNI 01-2973-1992 cookies or not. Organoleptic test was conducted to determine the level of preference and acceptance panelist on cookies breadfruit compared with other flour-based cookies     (wheat, rice, sago) and breadfruit cookies in a variety of formulation. The parameters used include, colour, frageance, texture, flavor and overall acceptance. Calcium level test performed using atomic absorption spectroscopy method at λ 422.7 nm and phosphorus levels using UV-Vis spectroscopy at λ 880 nm. The data were analyzed using analysis of variance anova and Duncan analysis. The test results showed Cookies breadfruit organoleptif have low enrollment compared to other flour cookies views of the average revenue flavor and general acceptance of cookies breadfruit, breadfruit cookies formulations can improve the physical properties (fragrance, flavor, color, and texture) and acceptance of cookies breadfruit by panelists. An increase in the average value of A formulation compared breadfruit cookies before formulation. Cookies are breadfruit tersukai 718 formulations with soy milk additives. Quality breadfruit cookies tersukai 718 formulations in general accordance with SNI 01-2973-1992 except protein content and contained 8.05% Cu content with a small concentration (1.56 ppm). Cookies breadfruit tersukai have the highest levels of calcium and phosphorus compared with breadfruit flour and commercial cookies for autistic children so that the most preferred breadfruit cookies very well taken by autistic children. Abstract

Pirdot plant(Saurauia vulcani. Kurth)is a plant that grows naturally in a tropical climate. During this decoction pirdot leaves plants are used by the people to treat diabetes disease. The purpose of this study was to isolate triterpenoid compound from ethyl acetate extract of pirdot leaves. The sample extraction was performed by total of maceration method using ethyl acetate as a solvent. The separation and purification of the compound was carried out by column chromatography method followed by stain pattern analysis with thin layer chromatography (TLC). Structure characterization of pure compound was determined using UV, IR, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, DEPT 135º, HMQC, HMBC, 1H-1H COSY and MS spectroscopies including compared with various literatures. Based on the analysis result, the pure isolate obtained was identified as a pentacyclic triterpenoid compound, 3-hydroxy acid, 12(13)-en,28-oleanolate acid with the molecular formula C30H48O3. The triterpenoid compound of pentacyclic oleanolic acid is the first reported from the pirdot plant (Saurauia vulcani. Kurth).

Abstract

Pemilihan monomer fungsional yang efektif untuk sintesis Molecular Imprinted Polymer (MIP)untuk diazinon dapat dilakukan dengan pendekatan kimia komputasi dengan menerapkan metode semiempirik AM1. Proses seleksi menggunakan parametermomen dipol, energi interaksi, dan ikatan hidrogen yang terbentuk. Energi interaksi yang optimum menunjukkan kompleks yang terbentuk stabildan mengindikasikan MIP akan dapat terbentuk baik.Semua perhitungan pada penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan software Hyperchem 7.5. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan monomer fungsional efektif untuk prasintesis polimer tercetak diazinon yaitu akrilamida, asam akrilat, asam metakrilat, hidroksi etil metakrilat, asam urokanat, asam itakonat, dan asam urokanat etil ester. Hasil ini secara teoritik  dapat memberikan informasi mengenai monomer fungsional efektif yang dapat digunakan sebagai pertimbangan sintesis MIP untuk diazinon dengan selektivitas relatif baik.

Abstract

Kaolin-ZVI (Zero Valent Iron) composite has been synthesized through reduction method. This study aims to synthesize and investigate the characteristics of kaolin-ZVI composite using X-ray diffraction, infrared absorption and gas adsorption on the surface of these material; the adsorption performance of Kaolin-ZVI composite investigated on ​​adsorbed of Cr (VI). In this study, the Kaolin used is using Indonesian Natural. Kaolin-ZVI Composite synthesized from Fe (III): BH4-ratio was 1: 9 and ZVI ​​the synthesized from Fe (III): BH4-ratio was 1: 2. The results showed that the fraction of kaolin modified with ZVI suffered destruction. Based on the analysis using XRD known that Fe0 formed on kaolin-ZVI, and ZVI; iron compounds such as iron oxide and magnetite maghemit are dominating in the two samples. The results of the analysis using the GSA shows the specific surface area of ​​kaolin, kaolinite-ZVI, and ZVI respectively for 13.29; 58.37; and 40.99 m2/g. The adsorption of Cr (VI) indicate that the kaolin, kaolinite-Zvi, and Zvi can adsorb Cr (VI), respectively 39.87; 70.65; and 132.90 mg/L.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.15408/jkv.v0i0.4650

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui profil protein Escherichia coli hasil iradiasi gammasebagai bahan vaksin mastitis inaktif. Kultur sel (108 sel/ml) diinaktivasi dengan dosis radiasisebesar 600, 700, 800, 900 dan 1000 Gy. Kultur sel dianalisis kandungan protein intraselulardan ekstraselular dengan metode Lowry. Profil protein dianalisis dengan menggunakan SDSPAGEdengan konsentrasi gel 10% dan standar berat molekul kisaran 10 – 220 kDa. Hasilpercobaan menunjukkan bahwa tidak terjadi perubahan kadar protein intraselular danekstraselular secara signifikan dengan semakin tingginya dosis iradiasi, demikian pula denganjumlah pita protein, tetapi intensitas setiap pita menunjukkan adanya perbedaan. Perbedaanintensitas protein tertinggi terjadi pada dosis 900 dan 1000 Gy. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwairadiasi gamma mampu menginaktivasi sel bakteri tetapi tidak merusak protein secara totalsebagai salah satu bahan antigen vaksin.
