Abstract

Barbodes schwanenfeldii is a fish that lives in the waters of the Rupit River, located in Karang Jaya District, North Musi Rawas Regency, South Sumatra. The purpose of this study was to determine the morphometrics of Barbodes schwanenfeldii in the Rupit River and the differences between Barbodes schwanenfeldii fish found in other rivers. This research uses purposive sampling method. The results of morphometric measurements of Barbodes schwanenfeldii obtained in the waters of the Rupit River are smaller than the Barbodes schwanenfeldii fish found in other river waters because, fish that have habitats living in water that have experienced metal pollution in the waters of the Rupit River have an impact on growth of fish.

Abstract

Many people think that Styrofoam is just a waste and cannot be utilized, as time goes by, with the narrower land, styrofoam media is very helpful for planting media. One of them is the cultivation of shallot plants which contain nutrients and active chemical substances that have benefits for health apart from being a complementary spice. In the growth process, of course, shallots need organic compounds as a physiological process known as ZPT. The natural ingredients used as ZPT are cherry water and sprouts extract. The purpose of this study was to determine the use of styrofoam media for the growth of shallot plants using organic ZPT. This research is an experimental study and the research design used a single factor completely randomized design, with 4 levels, namely 0.75, 100, 150 and 170%. Each treatment with four replicates of auxin ZPT, namely the Bio TECH msg 3 brand with a dose of 10g / ml was used as a comparison. Based on the results of the analysis using the ANOVA test, the results were (? = 0.00) for shoot height growth, (? = 0.00) for the number of shoots, (? = 0.00) for the number of roots and (? = 0.00) for the root length. This proves that giving organic auxin ZPT 170% has a significant effect on the growth of shallot plants. So it is recommended that the community when cultivating plants is recommended to use 170% organic auxin ZPT on Styrofoam media because it saves more land and is cheap.

Abstract

Sugarcane is an economically valuable plant that continues to be developed to produce superior varieties, the technique to get new varietis used is microspore culture biotechnology. There are many obstacles in the implementation of the microspore cultivar method. Therefore, in this research, a study of sugarcane anthers was carried out. This research used sugarcane panicles for anther selection and then observed under a microscope. Data is analyze with descriptivey method. The results show that white and yellow anthers are the right materials for microspore culture donors

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to determine the antibacterial properties of mangrove leaves on Staphylococcus aureus, and to determine the optimal antibacterial concentration of mangrove leaf extract. This research is an experimental type of research using the Diffusion and Dilution test to determine the MIC and MBC extracts. The sample is pure culture of S. aureus. The concentrations of mangrove leaf extracts were 0, 25, 50, 75 and 100 (%). The results of the data obtained were analyzed statistically using the Kruskal-Wallis statistical test. The results of this study showed a significant difference (95%) for the diameter of the clear zone of paper disk on the growth of S. aureus with a concentration of 0% (0.00 mm); 25% (11.04 mm); 50% (11.56 mm); 75% (12.95 mm); 100% (13.94 mm), where the higher the power the resulting resistor will widen. For MIC and KBM in the study using mangrove leaf extract, there were treatments with concentrations of 50, 75 and 100 (%).

Abstract

Taro leaf stems have antibacterial compounds, namely tannins, flavonoids, saponins and alkaloids that have anti-bacterial effects. The purpose of this study was to determine the antibacterial ability of the taro leaf stalk extract using the Staphylococcus aureus test bacteria. This research is an experimental study with samples using pure cultures of S. aureus. The treatments in this study were taro leaf stalk extract concentrations, including 0, 25, 50, 75 and 100 (%) concentrations and used diffusion and dilution methods. The results of the study were analyzed statistically with the Kruskal-Wallis test. The results obtained showed that the diameter of the clear zone of S. aureus at various treatment concentrations was 0% (0 mm); 25% (10.98 mm); 50% (11.93 mm); 75% (13.06 mm); 100% (13.14 mm) with significant results between treatments (5%). For the determination of MIC (Minimum Inhibitory Level) and MBC (Minimum Killing Level) there is a treatment with a concentration of 100%.
