Abstract

Shallots (Allium cepa L.) are superior horticultural crops that have been intensively cultivated by farmers. Shallots contain nutrients and chemicals that have side effects on health. Farmers prefer to give environmentally friendly fertilizers, namely by giving biofertilizers compared to chemical fertilizers. Chemical fertilizers can tell an environmental story and are not good if consumed continuously. Biofertilizer fertilizer is very suitable for plants, such as onion cultivation which contains nutrients and active chemicals, many benefits for the body other than as a complementary seasoning. The onion growth process requires sufficient nutrients with the help of mycorrhizae and Tricoderma sp. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of root and leaf growth of shallots on mycotrico (mycorrhizal and Tricoderma) biofertilizer fertilizers. This study was an experimental study and the research design used a completely randomized block factor design with 6 levels, namely 0%, 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, and 50% Mikotrico with 5 replications. Based on the analysis using the ANOVA test, the results obtained (α = 0.00) number of roots, (α = 0.00) root length, while for plant height the Kruskal-Wallis test had a significant effect while the number of tunas had no significant effect. The application of mycotrico biofertilizer fertilizer at a dose of 30% had better growth in the number of roots, root length, and plant height of shallot (Allium cepa L.)

Abstract

Many people think that Styrofoam is just a waste and cannot be utilized, as time goes by, with the narrower land, styrofoam media is very helpful for planting media. One of them is the cultivation of shallot plants which contain nutrients and active chemical substances that have benefits for health apart from being a complementary spice. In the growth process, of course, shallots need organic compounds as a physiological process known as ZPT. The natural ingredients used as ZPT are cherry water and sprouts extract. The purpose of this study was to determine the use of styrofoam media for the growth of shallot plants using organic ZPT. This research is an experimental study and the research design used a single factor completely randomized design, with 4 levels, namely 0.75, 100, 150 and 170%. Each treatment with four replicates of auxin ZPT, namely the Bio TECH msg 3 brand with a dose of 10g / ml was used as a comparison. Based on the results of the analysis using the ANOVA test, the results were (? = 0.00) for shoot height growth, (? = 0.00) for the number of shoots, (? = 0.00) for the number of roots and (? = 0.00) for the root length. This proves that giving organic auxin ZPT 170% has a significant effect on the growth of shallot plants. So it is recommended that the community when cultivating plants is recommended to use 170% organic auxin ZPT on Styrofoam media because it saves more land and is cheap.

Abstract

Belsasikuntas is a functional beverage made from a mixture of Wuluh star fruit, bay leaves, betel leaves, turmeric, and beluntas leaves. This study aims to analyze its polyphenol and vitamin C content using the Folin-Ciocalteu method for polyphenols and the iodometry method for vitamin C. Additionally, an organoleptic evaluation was conducted to assess color, aroma, and taste. Polyphenol and vitamin C content were tested both with and without dilution. For the diluted samples, a Completely Randomized Design method was applied with four concentration levels and five repetitions. The results for the undiluted samples showed that the highest polyphenol content (81.43 mg/100 mL) was observed at 5 mL, while the lowest (80.88 mg/100 mL) was recorded at 15 mL. The highest vitamin C content (48.01 mg/100 mL) was found at 15 mL, whereas the lowest (47.89 mg/100 mL) was at 5 mL. In diluted samples, the highest polyphenol content (81.36 mg/100 mL) was observed at 20 mL, while the lowest (27.54 mg/100 mL) was at 5 mL. The highest vitamin C content (47.93 mg/100 mL) was recorded at 20 mL, whereas the lowest (11.10 mg/100 mL) was found at 5 mL. The results indicate that polyphenol and vitamin C content decrease as more water is added. The organoleptic evaluation yielded a total public acceptance score of 100%, with 62% for color, 11% for taste, and 27% for fragrance. These findings suggest that Belsasikuntas has potential as a functional health drink with favorable consumer acceptability. Keywords: Belsasikuntas, Health Drink, Polyphenol, Vitamin C
