Abstract

The application of technology by farmers is one of the keys to the success of increasing crop productivity. Farmers' decisions to adopt corn cultivation technology are partly determined by the success of the demonstration plots used as examples. This study was conducted to evaluate the impact of the implementation of agricultural extension using the corn variety demonstration plot method which aims to change the attitudes and activeness of farmers in increasing corn productivity. This demonstration plot was implemented in Saradan Village, Baturetno District, Wonogiri Regency. Data collection techniques were conducted using field observation methods and interviews with farmers using questionnaire instruments. Sample determination was carried out using the simple random sampling method of 86 farmers, then analyzed using a value scale. The results of the evaluation of the impact of the corn variety demonstration plot showed that 71.03% of farmers agreed with the demonstration plot implementation process, but farmers were still in the sometimes category of 55.55% in the activeness of the production process.

The research aims to determine the efficient amount of ordering raw materials total inventory costs before and after using the Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) method, Re-Order point, and buffer inventory (Safety Stock) on Simplicia spoon, mint, and stevia. The research was carried out from January to June 2023 at PT Lawu Flora Wijaya, Karanganyar Regency. The method used in the research is a quantitative descriptive method. Based on research results using 2022 data, PT Lawu Flora Wijaya has been efficient in ordering 261.05 kg of Simplicia spoon raw materials, 104.74 kg of mint Simplicia, 84.64 kg of stevia Simplicia. The total cost of raw material inventory for Simplicia before using EOQ is Rp. 409,234 for spoon simplicia, Rp. 214,026 for mint simplicia, and Rp. 145,471 for stevia simplicia. Meanwhile, using the EOQ method, Rp. 402,171 was obtained for spoon simplicia, Rp. 189,937 for mint simplicia, and Rp. 144,609 for stevia simplicia. The reorder point for the raw material Simplicia spoon was 142.9 kg, simplicia mint was 15.1 kg, and Simplicia stevia was 25 kg. The buffer stock for spoon simplicia is 126.72 kg, mint simplicia is 11.92 kg, and stevia simplicia is 22.92 kg.

Abstract

Due to the rise of similar enterprises, the processing of banana chips is becoming more and more competitive. The most crucial factor in determining an agroindustry's costs and, consequently, its optimal selling price is the cost of production. For the agroindustry to potentially set a good selling price without forgetting the production costs incurred, determining the cost of production using the complete costing approach presents all costs that are not used as production costs but should be part of the production costs. The study examines the costs of producing banana chips on a small- and micro-scale in the agricultural sector. The two agricultural industries that were chosen are the small-scale Darma Jaya and the micro-scale Virgi. These industries differ in terms of business scale. This data underwent quantitative descriptive analysis. The entire costing computations are used in the data analysis procedure. According to the study's findings, the cost of producing a 100-gram product of banana chips in small-scale agriculture (Darma Jaya) is IDR 5,703.94, while in micro-agriculture (Virgi), it is IDR 7,982.73. The cost of production for a 100-gram product at Agroindustry Darma Jaya was IDR 6,372.72, while for Agroindysri Virgi, it was IDR 8,548.74, according to the whole costing technique calculation. Cost accounting calculations should be used by the agroindustry to determine that the selling price set should be higher than the cost of production to optimize profits. The agro-industry does not include many costs when determining production costs. Hence, the cost of production is not determined using the full costing approach.

Abstract

Using urban yard land for agriculture plays a crucial role in meeting family food needs and increasing household income. Agricultural extension workers play a significant role in supporting this initiative through the Sustainable Urban Farming (P2L) program in Yogyakarta City. They assist farmer groups in planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting to achieve the program's objectives. This study aims to evaluate the implementation of the P2L program, assess farmers' perceptions of the performance of agricultural extension workers, and identify the factors influencing these perceptions. 11 farmer groups in Yogyakarta, comprising 88 respondents, participated in this study. Perceptions were measured using a Likert scale, and the related factors were analyzed using Spearman's Rank Correlation. The results indicate that the P2L program has successfully improved food availability, accessibility, and household income through market-oriented food production. Farmers rated the performance of agricultural extension workers as good, with a total score of 260.42. However, factors such as age, non-formal education, farmers' knowledge, farming experience, and the use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), showed only a very weak correlation with the performance of agricultural extension workers in planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting.

Abstract

Tea is one type of beverage that has many fans. In addition to having a distinctive taste, tea is also beneficial for the body. The high demand makes tea one of the export commodities in various countries, especially Indonesia. The area of tea plantations in Indonesia makes Indonesia the second largest country as a tea exporter in Southeast Asia after Vietnam. The study aimed to determine the competitiveness and trend of Indonesian tea export competitiveness in the Southeast Asian market. The basic method uses descriptive analysis methods. Data uses secondary time series data obtained from various official sources such as ITC Trade Map, Food and Agriculture Statistics (FAOSTAT), and other sources of information obtained from books, articles, and journals. The analysis method uses Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA) to determine the competitiveness of Indonesian tea commodity exports and the Export Competitiveness Index (ECI) method to determine the trend of Indonesian tea competitiveness. The study results showed an average RCA value> 1, which is 2.29, which means that Indonesian tea has strong competitiveness in the Southeast Asian market.
