Jurnal Ekonomi dan Pembangunan Indonesia (JEPI) has been published since 2000 by the Department of Economics, Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Indonesia. The journal has been accredited B as a national academic journal based on the Decree of the Director General for Higher Education Accreditation Number 43/DIKTI/Kep/2008. In 2015, it has got re-accreditation B based on Decree of the Director General for Higher Education Accreditation Number 1/E/KPT/2015 on 21 September 2015 for period 2015-2019. Then, JEPI has Reakreditasi Tetap di Peringkat 2 based on Decree of the Minister of Research and Technology/Head of National Research and Innovation Agency Number 148/M/KPT/2020 on 3 August 2020 for period 2020-2025. The journal published biannual in January and July. JEPI focuses on issues pertaining empirical investigation on Indonesian economy. The journal aims to publish and disseminate high quality publication at national level through blind review process. The articles published in JEPI are expected to cover wide range topics in economics and employed standard economics analysis tools focusing on Indonesian economy. The topic encompasses various fields of economics, including but not limited to monetary, fiscal, environment and natural resource, industrial organization, regional and urban economics, and international and trade. It is expected for JEPI to facilitate students, lecturers and researchers to contribute significantly in understanding Indonesian economy.

Abstract

Carocok Painan is one of the potential areas for coastal tourism in Pesisir Selatan Regency. The area has beautiful beaches, coastal resources and historical sites that attract tourists. This study aims to estimate the supply and demand for coastal tourism in Carocok Painan. The supply conditions based on water quality analysis, suitability area, and carrying capacity show that the Carocok Painan is suitable for coastal tourism. The analysis of demand shows that the economic value of Carocok Painan for tourists using the travel cost method is Rp41,521,536,000 per year, while the economic value for residents using contingent valuation method is Rp347,756,632 per year.

Abstract

Danau Sentarum National Park (DSNP) is a conservation area which has an important role in people’s lives and society Kapuas Hulu in West Kalimantan. The objective of this study was to estimate the value of medicinal plants in the area TNDS. Contingent Valuation Method (CVM) with a single bounded was use to determine the willingness to pay for medicine plants. Data collected through direct interviews with 90 local households in DSNP using a questionnaire. Data analysis was done with MS. Excel® and SPSS® statistical software. The results show the variable value of the bid, income, age, education, and knowledge of medicinal plants significantly a ect the value of WTP. The expected WTP is found between IDR50.354,22 to IDR72.312,44 per household per month.

Abstract

Volatility is one of the interesting phenomenon in financial market; the reason is because of its effect to the existence of global financial market. The existence of volatility closely related to the risk in stock model. This research aims to determine the right model in modeling stock return volatility taken from four Asian countries with symmetric and various asymmetric model of GARCH. The result from fitting the right model for all of four stock markets showed that asymmetric model of GARCH showing a better estimation in portraying stock return volatility. Moreover, the model can reveal the existence of asymmetric effects on those four stock markets.

Abstract

Currently, culinary tourism is potential to be developed as one of the leading tourism. One of the cities in Central Java that has become culinary tourism icon is Semarang. The diversity of ethnic and tribe produces variety of local food and culinary destination to attract tourists. This research aims to know the difference of tourist behavior in Semarang based on age and marital status groups. This research using descriptive statistics with crosstab and analysis of variance (ANOVA). Based on the results of the One Way ANOVA, there are significant differences of authentic experience and prestige on respondents based on age group; and significant differences of authentic experience, exiting experience, health concern, prestige, and togetherness on respondents based on marital status groups.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the phenomenon of flypaper effect of regionally spending in Sulawesi. Types of data use secondary data about regionally original income, general allocation fund, special allocation fund, tax-sharing fund, and regionally spending in 2016–2017. Data analysis using panel data regression analysis. Result of research, found flypaper effect of regional spending from special allocation fund, whereas from general allocation fund and tax-sharing fund is not found. This study also proves that regionally spending, general allocation fund, special allocation fund, and tax-sharing fund have a significant influence on regionally spending in Sulawesi.

Abstract

Port development was becoming a major issue in promoting national and regional economic competitiveness. However, the development of public ports in Aceh province has not been significantly caused by low port economic activity. This research used Linear Programming, qualitative description, and Analytical Hierarchy Process method. The result showed the main economic policy of port development in Aceh Province was to developing economic growth centers in hinterland by developing sectors producing goods such as agriculture, forestry and fishery sector, mining and quarrying sector, and industrial sector. The another policy was strengthen connectivity port-hinterland logistics network by improving the quality connectivity infrastructure, enhancing cooperation between port operators with exporters and logistics service providers, and build the dry port.
