Abstract

Financial system stability represents a fundamental component of the economy, as it facilitates the efficient functioning of financial transactions. It is argued that the financial inclusion tends to enhance the financial stability. This study aims to investigate the effect of financial inclusion variables through fintech integration specifically Peer-to-Peer (P2P) lending, E-Money, and Interest Rates on Financial System Stability (FSS) in Indonesia, with the Non-Performing Loan (NPL) ratio serving as a proxy. The analysis uses the Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) with monthly time series data from 2018-2023. The results of this study show that only the E-Money variable has a significant influence on Financial System Stability, both in the short term and the long term. In contrast, Peer-to-Peer lending and Interest Rates do not significantly affect Financial System Stability in either the short or long term. This study emphasizes the need for policymakers undertake comprehensive and well-considered policy measures in advance of implementing financial inclusion-oriented initiatives. It is recommended that financial institutions strengthen the supervision of peer-to-peer (P2P) lending activities to mitigate the risk of default. Furthermore, enhancing public awareness of the advantages of cashless transactions is essential to promote the adoption of non-cash payment instruments.

Abstract

Regional economic growth is one indicator of the success of a region's development. South Aceh Regency shows a positive economic growth rate, reflected in the increase in Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) per capita. This study uses a quantitative approach with a descriptive research type to identify potential economic sectors in South Aceh Regency. The analysis methods used include Location Quotient (LQ), Shift Share, and Klassen Typology. Location Quotient is used to assess the relative advantages of economic sectors, Shift Share to identify sector contributions to growth, and Klassen Typology to classify sectors based on their characteristics. The results of the analysis show six leading base sectors: agriculture, forestry, and fisheries (LQ = 1.48); manufacturing industry (LQ = 2.22); government administration (LQ = 1.29); education (LQ = 1.29); health and social (LQ = 1.35); and construction (LQ = 1.10). Interpretation of these findings highlights the importance of the manufacturing industry sector, which has the highest LQ, as well as the strategic role of the government administration sector, even though it is not oriented towards the production of goods. To encourage sustainable economic development, several policy directions are suggested, such as the downstreaming of leading sectors, strengthening public services, improving human resources, and developing supporting infrastructure. With this strategy, leading sectors will not only become the current economic drivers but also the pillars of long-term economic transformation in South Aceh.

Abstract

In Indonesia, sustainability reports are increasingly recognized as a form of corporate commitment to the sustainability of the global economy. Several previous studies have shown that disclosure of sustainability reports can affect a company's financial performance, although the results still vary. In addition to sustainability reports, other factors can affect a company's financial performance, such as company size and leverage. This study uses the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) approach, which is analyzed with the help of SmartPLS 4 software. This study uses a quantitative method with a causal-comparative approach to analyze the relationship between sustainability reports and company financial performance. The analysis used is multiple linear regression. The population used in this study was manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during 2020-2022. The results of this study indicate that sustainability reports and company size affect financial performance (ROA), while leverage does not affect financial performance (ROA), and sustainability reports, leverage, and company size do not affect company value (Tobin's Q).

Abstract

This research is motivated by the fluctuations in the performance of the food and beverage industry which contributes significantly to national economic growth, but the company value reflected in the Price to Book Value (PBV) is still unstable. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of financial ratios consisting of Return on Assets (ROA), Current Ratio (CR), Total Assets Turnover (TATO), Debt to Equity Ratio (DER), and Sales Growth (SG) on company value, and to test the role of company size as a moderating variable. The study uses a quantitative approach and secondary data collected from 51 food and beverage sub-sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the 2019–2023 period. The analysis technique uses multiple linear regression and Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA). The results of the study show that partially, CR, TATO, and DER have a positive and significant effect on company value, while ROA and SG have a negative and significant effect. Simultaneous tests show that all independent variables have a significant effect on company value. Meanwhile, the results of the MRA analysis show that company size is able to moderate the influence of ROA, CR, TATO, and DER on company value significantly, but the nature of the moderation is to weaken the influence of the four ratios, and company size is unable to moderate the influence of SG on company value. This study concludes that management needs to strengthen financial performance through asset efficiency and profit growth, while investors can use certain financial ratios as investment considerations.
