Abstract

Maintaining water resources in Ghana is crucial to the survival of its populace. It is commonly said, it is the “survival of the fittest”, but it is water that makes it possible for the fittest to survive. This study examined Ghanaians’ activities towards water resources by exploring the views of residents of Anyanui, Anloga and Tegbi along Keta Lagoon Complex Ramsar Site. The study adopted the qualitative approach, narrative design and thematic analysis. In-depth face-to-face interviews with 15 residents, purposively and conveniently sampled from the three communities and observations in the Anloga District revealed that, there is a moderate environmental challenge to Keta Lagoon Complex Ramsar site. Over exploitation of mangroves, the habit of open defecation, dumping of refuse in the enclave and poaching were revealed in the study. The study concludes that, advancing the protection and strategizing to achieve effective management of wetlands in Ghana is needed to ensure that ecosystem benefits inure to mankind. Based on this, the study recommends that, Traditional chiefs should be given the mandate and be tasked to ensure rules and regulations regarding Ramsar sites are well respected. Moreover, Wildlife Division/Forestry Commission needs to be more vibrant in ensuring that, wetlands are wisely used and protected. The study also recommends that, toilet facilities need to be provided along the banks of the Keta Lagoon Complex Ramsar Site

Abstract

This research aims to solve problems in the process of feeding broiler chickens on increasing the skills of chicken farmers. The mentoring activities carried out include assisting chicken farmers in using production technology assistance and demonstrating if there is damage or errors in operating Manual Material Handling (MMH) tools or difficulties in managing the website. The results of this research are: 1) 90% respondents understand how to operate Manual Material Handling tools; 2) 90% respondents understand the components of Manual Material Handling; 3) 95% of respondents strongly agree with the material duration in operating manual material handling; 3) 95% participant evaluation results after participating in training for the category of using MMH to Help Broiler Chicken Production answered strongly agree.

Abstract

Aceh Province's natural resource wealth is diverse, offering natural panoramas, flora and fauna, and rainforest areas with attractive attractions for both domestic and foreign tourists. Forestry-based ecotourism has the potential to become a leading sector in the tourism industry. This research aims to map potential attractions, amenities, and regional accessibility of the Rainforest Lodges Kedah ecotourism area in Gayo Regency Lues Aceh Province. The area has unique natural resources, including beautiful flora and fauna, clear river flow, and tourist activities such as nature viewing, facilities, research/education, and sports. The area can accommodate up to 1,642 people per day. The ecotourism development strategy is in the quadrant one (I) SWOT matrix, allowing for optimal utilization of existing opportunities and support for aggressive growth

Abstract

The distribution system is divided into primary and secondary distribution networks. The primary distribution network is the network from the main substation transformer (GI) to the distribution substation, while the secondary is the channel network from the distribution substation transformer to the consumer or load. The primary distribution network is better known as the medium voltage network (JTM 20kV) while the secondary distribution is the low voltage network (JTR 220/380V). The distribution network is the part of the electric power system that is closest to customers or loads compared to the transmission network. Currently, network electricity conditions throughout Indonesia are experiencing a decline of 5% which is due to various factors such as the medium-scale diameter of the conductors used, so at the farthest SR the value of overvoltage is 10%, the allowable voltage drop and must anticipate an increase in electrical load of 22.7 %, the placement of the transformer is not optimal and the distance the electrical energy travels from the transformer to the load is not paid enough attention so that the capacity of a transformer is not optimal and the voltage drop is also greater. Given these conditions, re-evaluation and planning is needed that takes into account planning criteria such as allowable voltage drops and continuity of electricity services so that optimization of the network used can emerge.

Abstract

Bantimurung District, with a rice harvest area of 10,652 hectares, has an important role in Maros Regency. This research identified a number of main issues, such as farmers' behavior in efforts to improve environmental quality in the Bantimurung irrigation area, knowledge about wet agricultural ecosystems, attitudes towards irrigation, and motivation to protect the environment. This research aims to understand farmers' actions in increasing agricultural production and the environment in a sustainable way, and to measure the impact of various factors, both individually and as a whole. This research method is quantitative using a correlational approach. The research location was chosen using a purposive sampling method in the Bantimurung irrigation area, Maros Regency. The research results show that farmers' behavior in improving environmental quality in the Bantimurung irrigation area has so far only reached a moderate level. Community knowledge about wet agricultural ecosystems, the environment, attitudes towards irrigation, and motivation to protect the environment in these areas tend to be low
