Abstract

This research is motivated by the implementation of the Student Active Learning System (SAL/CBSA in Indonesia) in music education, specifically in violin instruction. The SAL system has been in existence since 1984 and is used in formal schools such as Elementary Schools, Junior High Schools, and Senior High Schools. In this case, the SAL system, which is typically applied in formal schools, is used in a music course setting, namely at Bavisch Music School. SAL itself can be applied in all branches of education, including formal, informal, and non-formal. However, the application of the SAL system to non-formal education, especially in violin instruction, differs slightly from its application in formal schools. Generally, SAL focuses on three aspects of education: cognitive, affective, and psychomotor. Its implementation in formal education differs from that in music courses, as the latter involves much more practical training, although the curriculum is also given significant attention.

Abstract

The Samatra Artis Bali Talkshow live broadcast program has succeeded in becoming a forum for local musicians to publish their work. Because as a local Balinese television media, Bali TV is a source of information media that is able to instill noble cultural values, as well as supporting local Balinese artists. In accordance with the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) curriculum, the author had the opportunity to carry out an Internship/Work Practicum program which was carried out on Bali TV. The aim of this research is to explain the production process carried out. This research uses descriptive qualitative research methods with observation techniques on Bali TV. Data collection in preparing this thesis was obtained through interviews, documentation and observation. The author had the opportunity to directly see the pre-production, production and post-production processes. In the research carried out, at the pre-production process stage, the production team held an internal meeting to prepare the rundown. At the production stage, a 1 hour Live On-Air was carried out. And in the post-production stage, the team evaluates whether or not there are any obstacles that occurred during the program. A television program will not run smoothly if the behind-the-scenes activities are not managed effectively. With this thesis, the author hopes that readers, especially the Balinese people, including artists/art lovers, can better appreciate and preserve cultural works of art in Bali. The Bali Artist Samatra Program makes writers understand more about the importance of publishing their work/introducing their work via television media.

Abstract

Sanggar Musik Amabile is one example of a course in Bali that conducts guitar instrument learning with a learning plan in the form of a syllabus. The syllabus is prepared based on the ABRSM curriculum which is adjusted to the abilities, needs and interests of students to achieve effective learning with maximum results. To find out the effectiveness of the application of the syllabus, a qualitative research was conducted by collecting data through teaching assistance in the form of observation activities and complemented by interview activities. From this research, it was concluded that despite experiencing several obstacles such as: (1) Lack of discipline of students in independent practice, (2) The desire of students to learn songs that are not in accordance with the grade, (3) Lack of concentration of students during learning, (4) The existence of students' willingness that cannot be forced, the application of a learner-oriented syllabus in guitar learning at Amabile Music Studio has been effective because there is conformity between learning planning and its application in the classroom and most of the learning objectives have been achieved.

Abstract

FOUR is a composition inspired by the anxiety experienced by the composer. This work tells about the unrest experienced by the composer after his late father passed away on June 4, 2023. The composer felt a lot of emptiness and confusion in continuing his life after being left by his father. The efforts made to get through this grief, ended up returning to the same place and rotating only there. In this composition, the composer uses the concept of minimalist music, which has minimal musical elements with phrases that have a lot of repetition. This repetition interprets how the composer's life only revolves and returns to the same feeling of emptiness and confusion. In this composition, the composer has a musical form and structure with A, B, and A' charts. In the beginning, it interprets the confusion experienced by the composer, B interprets the emotions experienced by the composer, and A' interprets how the composer's efforts only lead back to the same place. The reference of this work is; "Methamorphosis" which is a work of Phillip Glass a minimalist music composer which has several parts of "Methamorphosis parts 1-5", from which the composer gets a reference on how to develop minimalist music.

Abstract

Rutin is a composition inspired by the anxiety felt by the creator. This restlessness results from activities or work that are carried out repeatedly, causing a feeling of boredom and ultimately this feeling can be eliminated by no longer doing activities or work as before. Using the concept of modern music, namely music that uses instruments and technology. The instruments used in Routin's work consist of 3 electric guitars, electric bass, and drums. The artist uses a guitar playing technique with the addition of a delay effect which produces a repetition of the sound of what is played and utilizes the results of the repetition of the sound so that the resulting sound seems different to what is actually played. In order for Routine compositional works to be created academically, the creator refers to one creation method written down by the Arts Consortium, namely: (1) preparation, (2) elaboration, (3) synthesis, (4) realization of the concept, and (5) completion into the final form artworks. Some of the works that the creator used as references include, (1) Rob Scallon's work entitled Rain, (2) Ewan Dobson's work entitled Time 2, (3) Steve Reich's composition work entitled Electric Counterpoint, (4) Steve Reich's composition work entitled 2x5, (5) Work from the band Netral or NTRL entitled Flying Sink and Pertermpuran Hati, (6) Work from the band The Temper Trap entitled Sweet Disposition, (7) Work from the band Animal as Leaders entitled Red Miso.

Abstract

This research, entitled "Vocal Learning to Achieve Tone Accuracy in Reading Choral Scores at Vocal Extracurricular at SMPN 8 Denpasar", is motivated by students' lack of understanding in singing each note properly and correctly. In a choir, the accuracy of a singer's tone is absolutely essential so that the song sung sounds good. The aim of this research is to increase sensitivity to tone through various vocal techniques provided by the author. There is one vocal technique that according to the author needs to be studied in order to achieve pitch accuracy, namely the intonation technique. Apart from that, it is not enough to just learn vocal techniques, but it is also necessary to learn basic music theory in reading choral scores. The music theory in question is reading the number notation or solmization properly and correctly, knowing the value of the number notes and also understanding the chart of the song being sung. The learning methods used in this research are the lecture method, discussion method, question and answer method, and demonstration method. Data collection was obtained through interviews, document studies, and direct observation of the learning process that occurred. The extracurricular vocal class students at SMPN 8 Denpasar became the research objects. The expected achievement target is to achieve the learning objectives that have been set.
