Abstract

This writing is intended to investigate the style of the language contained in the geguritan Kidung Wengi by Hadi Pamungkas using a stylistic scalpel. This writing uses a research lens that focuses on the object of study regarding the style of language, imagery, and typography used. The method used by the author in examining this geguritan is to use a qualitative descriptive method with the technique of collecting physical evidence in the form of words, phrases, and sentences in the geguritan containing the focus of the writing objective. Based on the research that has been done, the results obtained in the form of finding figure of speech, imagery, diction, and typography that are used to describe a situation as well as tools to beautify the language of geguritan. In this geguritan found images such as visual images, auditory images, motion images, and tactile images. There are also figures of speech found in Kidung Wengi's geguritan, including personification, metaphor, and hyperbole. This Gegutitan also contains dictions in its writing. In addition, in writing this geguritan the author also includes typography which is a writing technique related to the use of writing rules and the use of punctuation marks.

Abstract

This study discusses diction, language style, and imagery in a story entitled "Pacarku Aneh" by Lina Maisaroh. The theory used is a stylistic study. The purpose of this study is to: describe the diction, style, and imagery contained in the cerkak. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method, with the analysis technique carried out as reading and understanding the contents of the ingenuity. The research data is in the form of a short text sourced from the kompasiana web published in 2021 with the theme of love. The data collection technique used is a reading and recording technique. Data analysis techniques use interactive descriptive techniques that include data reduction, data classification, and conclusion. The result of this study is in a story entitled My Strange Boyfriend by Lina Maisaroh using denotative diction, connotative diction, auditory imagery, visual imagery, motion imagery, allegory language style, and affirmative language style.

Abstract

The purpose of writing this paper is to fulfill lecture assignments and describe one's loyalty in a campursari song with the title Banyu Langit, which was created by Didi Kempot. As a singer, Didi Kempot describes how someone who really misses his lover who never leaves but he still remembers and loves his lover. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The research data is in the form of campursari song lyrics which express a person's loyalty and patience in waiting for his lover. The theory used is a semiotic study which explains the meaning contained in literary works, because every literary work has its own meaning. The result of this study is that there is a patient attitude of someone who waits for his lover with all the longing and loyalty for the sake of waiting for the lover he loves so much. Loyalty of someone who keeps his promise to stay in love and loyal to his lover by holding back longing to wait for the lover who left and never came home. The effort that a person makes in waiting for his loved one to return is proof of one's loyalty to his partner as a form of deep love and longing for his loved one.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe grammatical errors in writing Javanese for grade 7 students and to describe what are the factors that cause errors in writing Javanese letters. This study uses a type of qualitative descriptive research. Test and interview methods were used to collect data. Data analysis in this study used descriptive data analysis and the results showed that there were several grammatical errors in the Javanese language in the form of errors in the use of vowels. Factors causing errors in writing are due to a lack of learning and understanding of Javanese vowels

Abstract

The purpose of doing this writing is to examine the style of language which includes diction, imagery, typography, and also figure of speech used in a literary work in the form of Kidung Ati Tangise Bumi by Yadhy S. Due to the purpose of writing which leads to the use of language style, the scalpel The method used to study this literary work is to use a stylistic scalpel. The method used to support this writing is a qualitative descriptive method which is carried out by collecting physical evidence in the form of words, phrases, clauses, and sentences in Kidung Ati Tangise Bumi which are suspected of having links with the scope of use of diction, imagery, typography, and figure of speech. . The results of the research that have been carried out show that this song contains the use of language styles in the form of diction, imagery, figure of speech, and typography which gives its own beauty value in describing a situation.

Abstract

AbstrakMangongkal Holi merupakan salah satu ritual adat masyarakat Batak Toba yang sarat akan nilai simbolik, spiritual, dan sosial. Tradisi ini berupa penggalian dan pemindahan kembali tulang-belulang leluhur ke tempat peristirahatan yang lebih layak sebagai bentuk penghormatan kepada leluhur dan pemenuhan kewajiban adat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji makna simbolik, fungsi sosial, serta dinamika transformasi ritual Mangongkal Holi dalam konteks modernitas dan pengaruh ajaran Kekristenan di Tanah Batak. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif melalui studi pustaka. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Mangongkal Holi mengalami transformasi dalam struktur pelaksanaan, simbol, serta pemimpin ritus, namun tetap mempertahankan esensi nilai budaya. Akulturasi dengan agama Kristen tidak menghilangkan substansi ritual, melainkan menciptakan ruang adaptif yang memperkuat identitas kultural masyarakat Batak Toba. Ritual ini juga mencerminkan solidaritas mekanik dan mempererat ikatan sosial antargenerasi di tengah arus globalisasi.AbstractMangongkal Holi is one of the traditional rituals of the Batak Toba community, rich in symbolic, spiritual, and social values. This tradition involves the exhumation and reburial of ancestral remains in a more honorable resting place as a form of respect and fulfillment of customary obligations. This study aims to explore the symbolic meanings, social functions, and the dynamic transformation of the Mangongkal Holi ritual in the context of modernity and the influence of Christianity in the Batak homeland. Using a descriptive qualitative approach through library research, the study finds that the ritual has undergone changes in structure, symbols, and leadership but still preserves its cultural essence. The acculturation with Christian values has not eliminated the ritual's substance but created adaptive spaces that strengthen the cultural identity of the Batak Toba people. It also reflects mechanical solidarity and strengthens intergenerational social bonds amid globalization.

Abstract

This study used descriptive qualitative method. Descriptive is describing and describing the function of myth, while qualitative is a method that uses words, phrases, clauses, and sentences as data. The purpose of this study was to determine the function of the myths that exist in Karangjati Village, Tarub District, Tegal Regency. Myths are anonymous stories or unknown creators who come from primitive cultures. These stories are sacred and cannot be understood scientifically. This myth is one of the oral culture that still exists in society and is part of oral folklore. Oral folklore is passed down from generation to generation orally or by word of mouth. Data collection techniques used in this research are observation, interview, record and note. Observation technique is the observation of the situation and research location. Then, the interview is asking or talking directly to existing sources about the myths at the research site and then recorded using a tape recorder and then taking notes according to the results of interviews and recordings. The results obtained from this study are that there are several myths that exist in Karangjati Village, Tarub District, Tegal Regency, including myths about pregnancy, myths about small children and myths about marriage or matchmaking. The functions of these myths include; (1) as a means of education; (2) as a means of entertainment; (3) as a means of culture; and (4) as a means of reminder.

Abstract

The data collection technique used is reading and note-taking technique and data analysis technique using descriptive analysis technique which includes description, classification and analysis. The results of this study are in the lyrics of the campursari song entitled Sewu Kutha created by Didi Kempot using denotative diction, connotative diction, tactile imagery, visual imagery, auditory imagery, comparative language style, affirmation style.

Abstract

AbstrakBahasa jawa memiliki peran penting dalam mempertahankan identitas budaya lokal, terutama di era digital saat ini. Penelitian ini dilakuan dengan tujuan untuk mengeksplorasi peran bahasa Jawa dalam media massa dan bagaimana hal ini dapat memperkuat identitas lokal. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah analisis konten terhadap media massa berbahasa Jawa, baik dalam bentuk media cetak maupun media digital. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media massa berbahasa Jawa memiliki dampak signifikan dalam menjaga dan melestarikan budaya Jawa di tengah arus globalisasi. Melalui analisis teks jurnalistik berbahasa Jawa, artikel ini menyoroti strategi-strategi komunikasi yang digunakan untuk mencapai audiens yang lebih luas sambil mempertahankan kekhasan budaya lokal. Diskusi ini juga mempertimbangkan tantangan dan peluang yang dihadapi dalam menjaga relevansi bahasa Jawa dalam konteks media modern. Abstract Javanese has an important role in maintaining local cultural identity, especially in the current digital era. This research was carried out with the aim of exploring the role of the Javanese language in mass media and how this can strengthen local identity. The research method used is content analysis of Javanese language mass media, both in print and digital media. The research results show that Javanese language mass media has a significant impact in maintaining and preserving Javanese culture amidst globalization. Through analysis of Javanese journalistic texts, this article highlights the communication strategies used to reach a wider audience while maintaining local cultural characteristics. This discussion also considers the challenges and opportunities faced in maintaining the relevance of the Javanese language in the context of modern media.

Abstract

Indonesia is a country that has a variety of cultures, not least the culture that is spread on the island of Java. Javanese people's thoughts include dances, ancient texts, Javanese script, folklore, kidung, geguritan and many more. Novel is a type of Javanese literary work in the form of prose. The story in the novel is the result of the work of imagination that discusses the problems of a person's life or various characters. The story in the novel begins with the emergence of problems experienced by the character and ends with solving the problem. In a novel, of course, there are several elements, both intrinsic and extrinsic. And in this study, the author will analyze some Javanese vocabulary and the language style in the novel Para Priyayi by Umar Kayam. Style of language can also be called figure of speech is the use of the wealth of language, the use of a certain variety to obtain certain effects that can make a literary work look alive, the overall language characteristics of a group of literary writers and the distinctive way of conveying thoughts and feelings, both orally and in writing.
