Abstract

Inventory is a company asset in the form of idle resources or unused resources that needs to be minimized. One type of inventory is perishable items. Perishable items are products with a limited life cycle. This limited life cycle affects consumer interest in purchasing the product, leading to a decrease in consumer interest as the item approaches its expiration date. This results in a reduction in inventory value as purchases and product expiration occur. This study changes the arrival speed of goods from simultaneous to uniform, introducing a constant arrival speed (R) in the model formulation. The development of this model focuses on inventory systems for perishable items with a decline in buyer interest as the product life cycle decreases and products arrive uniformly. It is found that uniform arrival reduces the total cost compared to simultaneous arrival.

Abstract

The waste problem in Bandung City, including the ineffective waste segregation process, especially at the household level, is a significant problem. There needs to be public awareness, especially in sorting waste into organic, inorganic, and residual waste. Public awareness in managing waste requires beliefs, principles, and ethical considerations towards the environment based on the values of each individual. Nostalgia can be a medium or stimulus to foster the intention to engage in waste segregation activities or environmentally friendly practices. This research examines the influence of generational differences. Nostalgia has a different influence for each generation and becomes stronger with age. Each generation also has an influence on the values, place attachment, and attitude held by each individual. This study involved 236 respondents from the Greater Bandung area who were divided into three generational groups, namely Generation X-Baby Boomers, Generation Y, and Generation Z. The results showed that there were differences in nostalgia between generations. The results showed that there are differences in nostalgia, epistemic value, emotional value, place attachment, and attitude towards waste sorting behavior based on generation groups. This result is different for the intention to sort waste which has no difference for each generation. The government, especially the Bandung City Environmental Agency (DLHK), and profit and non-profit organizations can develop campaigns and programs that utilize nostalgia according to generation.

Abstract

Today's fierce business competition can affect the competitive position of a brand, and with the development of technology in the digital era changing consumer behavior that has a dependence on the internet network in communicating opinions, information, and transactions that influence each other or what is commonly called Electronic Word of Mouth (E-WOM). In E-WOM itself, there are sentiments that can be analyzed to determine whether the meaning of the sentence is positive, negative, or neutral. The sentiment is what the brand needs to know the perspective of the market. The development of this digital era also requires a brand to have a social media account to make an assessment first before deciding on a purchase. Brands that have a positive and strong image in the minds of consumers or followers are believed to be able to attract consumer interest in buying products offered by a brand. This research was conducted by looking at the quality of Sentiment Analysis from each coffee shop brand on Electronic Word of Mouth (E-WOM) generated by Social Media Marketing Activities on Instagram social media. The case study was conducted on business competition between two coffee shop brands Janji Jiwa and Kopi Kenangan, because based on the brand index of the Top Brand Award the two coffee shops are in a very tight competitive position. Sentiment analysis was conducted using Python and Jupyter. The results showed that Janji Jiwa coffee shop has a positive comment weight of 14.90%, which is higher than Kopi Kenangan coffee shop that has a positive comment weight of only 11.70% with the weight of negative comments owned by both coffee shop brands amounting to 73.30%. Positive sentiment. The positive comment weights reflect the competitive positioning of the two brands, with Janji Jiwa being in a stronger position than Kopi Kenangan.

Abstract

The use of technology in the recruitment and selection process has evolved alongside organizational competition to identify, select, and retain top talent. Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology in recruitment and selection offers various advantages from an organizational perspective. However, job applicants' perceptions of AI technology have been rarely discussed in the literature, even though this issue significantly impacts their attitudes and work behaviors after the recruitment and selection process. This study focuses on job applicants' acceptance of AI technology using theoretical models of technology acceptance to understand the factors influencing their intention to use AI. The PLS-SEM statistical method was used for data processing with SmartPLS software. Based on data from 166 respondents in Jabodetabek and Bandung who had never participated in AI-based recruitment and selection, the study found that perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, and trust positively influence the intention to use AI, with attitude acting as a mediator. Perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use also have a direct positive effect. Additionally, attitude and social influence positively affect the intention to use AI. However, perceived knowledge does not have a significant impact on job applicants' intention to use AI in recruitment and selection.

Abstract

The low compliance with earplug uses in Indonesian workplaces reflects suboptimal occupational safety and health (K3) implementation, particularly in protecting workers from noise exposure, with discomfort cited as a primary cause. This study investigates factors influencing earplug comfort and proposes user-oriented design improvements. Comfort was measured using the COmfort of hearing PROtection device (COPROD) questionnaire across four dimensions that include physical, functional, acoustic, and psychological, based on responses from 458 users. Data were analyzed using partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) and importance-performance map analysis (IPMA). Results show all four dimensions significantly affect overall comfort, with physical comfort emerging as the most critical yet underperforming factor, making it the primary target for enhancement. Functional comfort also demonstrated below-average performance but with lower relative importance, positioning it as a secondary priority. Key comfort attributes were then converted into functional and technical requirements, informing targeted design interventions to improve earplug performance and user acceptance.

Abstract

The competitive business environment encourages manufacturing companies to produce high-quality goods. However, companies often receive raw materials that do not meet production standards. These imperfect raw materials are caused by various factors such as improper shipping processes, damage, human error, and soon. This leads to a shortage of raw materials during the production process, necessitating reordering to meet production needs. The objective of this research is to develop a formulation model to determine the optimal ordering time intervals, order lot sizes, and total profit when a company has more than one raw material from a single supplier while considering the presence of defective goods. The research processes data by deriving the EOQ formula from a previous study model on single-item inventory policy with defective products, extending it to a multi-item inventory policy with defective products. The results show that the multi-item model generates 1.5 times higher total profit compared to the single-item model ($51,307 vs. $34,064 per unit per year). In addition, the ordering interval for the multi-item model is 52.1 days longer compared to the single-item model, which only has a 10-day interval. Finally, the multi-item model involves larger order lot sizes. Ordering raw materials simultaneously reduces ordering and holding costs, making the multi-item model more efficient and yielding higher profits than the single-item model.
