Abstract

Tourism continues to experience growth and diversification to become one of the largest and fastest growing economic sectors in the world. The tourism industry is also increasingly playing an important role in the economy in many countries, including Indonesia. Therefore, this research aims to determine the causality relationship between tourism and economic growth in Indonesia using VAR Panel Analysis. By using panel data from 10 provinces in Indonesia in the period of 2009-2018, the VAR Panel analysis found that tourism and economic growth in Indonesia have a two-way causal relationship. Nevertheless, causality relationships are formed with different directions of influence and timeframes.

Abstract

Indonesia as a developing country that has 34 provinces with many remote, outermost and lagging areas has problems with the impact of high economic growth, namely poverty, inequality, and unemployment. Likewise with the DI Yogyakarta Province which experienced this condition. The concept of inclusive economic growth exists as growth creating broad access and opportunities for all levels of society in an equitable manner, increasing welfare, and reducing disparities between groups and regions. This study aims to analyze the effect of the independent variables consisting of the minimum wage, human development index, and per capita income on the dependent variable inclusive economic growth. The method used is panel data regression analysis. The results showed that the minimum wage variable had a negative and significant effect on inclusive economic growth, while the human development index and per capita income variables had a positive and significant effect on inclusive economic growth

Abstract

Nickel is a mineral that has become popular in recent years as the electric vehicle industry has boomed. Indonesia is a country with abundant resources and reserves of raw nickel ore. This study aims to determine the export competitiveness of Indonesian processed nickel products against their exporters and the factors that influence exports of Indonesian processed nickel products. This research is included in quantitative research using secondary data. The analysis technique used is the Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA) analysis method and panel regression analysis. The results show that in the Nickel Processed Product Commodity, Indonesia has quite good competitiveness against competing countries. In addition, the competitiveness variable, the Gross Domestic Product per capita of the destination country, and the exchange rate of the destination country have a significant positive effect on Indonesia's exports of processed nickel products. The findings of this study imply that Indonesia needs to maintain and increase its current competitiveness for nickel-processed product commodities and needs to pay attention to factors such as competitiveness, Gross Domestic Product per capita of destination countries, and destination country exchange rates to optimize Indonesia's export activities.

Abstract

In Indonesia, the fiscal decentralization policy is provided by the central government in the form of balancing fund, special-autonomy fund, and adjustment funds, as well as in the form of instruments that can increase the potential for local own-source revenue with the aim of equitable development and increasing people's welfare. Transfer funds from the central government can have an impact on people's welfare if the funds are allocated to programs/activities that can improve public services. This study aims to determine the effect of special-autonomy fund, local own-source revenue and balancing fund on people's welfare as measured using the human development index (HDI) in West Papua Province. This study uses panel data regression, using explanatory research. The results of this study indicate that special-autonomy fund and balancing fund have a positive and significant effect on the human development index (HDI) , while local own-source revenue has a positive but not significant effect.
