Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, trust, digital literacy, and religiosity on the decisions of millennials and Generation Z in West Java in making ZIS payments through digital platforms. The research method used is quantitative with binary logistic regression analysis techniques on 110 respondents selected through purposive sampling. The results of the study indicate that simultaneously, all five variables have a significant influence on the decision to make ZIS payments digitally. Partially, perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, trust, and digital literacy were found to have a positive and significant influence on the decision to make ZIS payments through digital platforms. Meanwhile, religiosity has a negative and insignificant influence, indicating that the level of religiosity plays more of a role as a foundation that influences the decision to pay ZIS, but is not a determining factor in the choice of digital payment methods.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of productive zakat programs on the welfare of mustahik (recipients) with business income as a mediating variable at LAZNAS Nurul Hayat. The background of this study is based on differences in empirical findings related to the effectiveness of productive zakat in improving the welfare of mustahik in a sustainable manner. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey method, where primary data is collected through questionnaires and analyzed using the Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method. The results show that business capital assistance and entrepreneurial characteristics have a positive and significant effect on the welfare of mustahik and business income. However, business income does not have a significant effect on the welfare of mustahik, so it does not mediate the relationship between independent variables and the welfare of mustahik. These findings indicate that the welfare of mustahik is not only determined by an increase in income, but also by the effectiveness of capital and the characteristics of individual zakat recipients. This study provides practical implications for zakat institutions in designing more targeted and sustainable productive zakat programs.

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of spiritual guidance, business mentoring, and capital assistance on the development of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) within an Islamic philanthropy-based empowerment program. MSMEs play a vital role in economic growth; however, they continue to face structural challenges, including limited financial resources, inadequate managerial capacity, and restricted market access. This research adopts a quantitative approach using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with a total sample of 45 MSMEs. The findings reveal that business mentoring and capital assistance exert a positive and statistically significant impact on MSME development. Business mentoring enhances managerial capabilities and adaptive capacity, while capital assistance strengthens production capacity and financial resilience. Conversely, spiritual guidance does not demonstrate a statistically significant direct effect, although it contributes to ethical formation and long-term behavioral development. These results underscore the importance of integrating financial and non-financial interventions to design more effective and sustainable MSME empowerment strategies.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of halal production on exports of the halal food and beverage industry in Indonesia and the influence of Islamic banking financing on exports of the halal food and beverage industry in Indonesia. This study uses a quantitative approach with a regression study. The results of this study indicate that halal production, proxied by the total production of halal-certified food and beverages, has a significant and positive effect on exports of the halal food and beverage industry in Indonesia. This indicates that increasing domestic halal production volume will significantly increase exports. This condition is in line with the view that product quality assurance and halal certification are important factors in boosting the competitiveness of Indonesian halal products in the global market. Islamic banking financing, proxied by total financing of the processing industry sector, does not significantly affect exports of the halal food and beverage industry. This result is thought to be due to the still low proportion of productive financing channeled to the real sector, particularly the halal food and beverage industry. Data show that the structure of Islamic financing during the study period was still dominated by consumptive financing, thus not being able to optimally drive export performance

Abstract

Inequality is still a global issue. World inequality is represented by the G20 as a representation of the world economy. According to Kuznetz's theory, economic growth is the main factor that affects poverty which can be positive or negative. However, previous research has only examined Kuznetz's theory in one financial system. This study examines Kuznetz's Theory for G20 countries which are divided into three categories of financial systems, namely Sharia, Dual Banking, and Conventional. Economic growth is influenced by many things and is only sufficient for transportation, poverty distribution, PMA, GDP per capita, and labor. The study used a panel regression method for conventional and dual categories. The study uses a simple regression method for sharia. Our results show that in the conventional category, the variables of FDI and economic growth have a negative effect on inequality and the variables of labor and poverty have a negative effect on inequality. For the dual banking category, the variables of poverty and economic growth have a negative effect on inequality. For the Islamic banking category, only poverty has a negative effect on inequality. However, this is because the sample in sharia countries has become more equal in itself .

Abstract

This study is motivated by the rapid growth of the halal cosmetics industry and the increasing complexity of consumer decision-making, which is not solely driven by economic factors. It aims to examine the influence of income, age, credibility cues, social proof, and halal certification salience on halal cosmetics purchase intention, with perceived risk as a mediating variable. A quantitative approach was employed using a survey of 155 female halal cosmetics users in Malang City, selected through purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results indicate that income and age do not have a significant effect on perceived risk or purchase intention. In contrast, credibility cues, social proof, and halal certification salience significantly reduce perceived risk and enhance purchase intention. These findings highlight the critical role of trust-related factors in shaping consumer behavior and provide implications for businesses to strengthen marketing strategies based on credibility, social proof, and clear halal certification.

Abstract

This study analyzes the operational efficiency of BTPN Syariah (2019-2023), a bank focusing on the productive low-income women segment. Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, the bank faced a "vulnerability paradox" between its shock-prone ultra-micro customer profile and its resilient Sharia business model. Using a two-stage quantitative approach, this study applies Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) to measure technical efficiency and Tobit Regression to identify its determinants. The DEA results indicate a "U-shaped" efficiency pattern: optimal efficiency was achieved in 2019, contracted in 2020-2021 due to mobility restrictions, and fully recovered in 2023. The Tobit analysis reveals that Bank Size and the BI-Rate have a significant positive effect, confirming the effectiveness of economies of scale and monetary policy adaptation. Conversely, Non-Performing Financing (NPF) and inflation exhibit a significant negative effect due to deteriorating asset quality and declining customer purchasing power, whereas CAR and economic growth show no significant impact. In conclusion, economies of scale and monetary adaptation are the primary drivers of efficiency, while strict control over non-performing financing and the mitigation of inflation risks serve as absolute prerequisites for post-crisis operational sustainability.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the increasing role of Islamic banking in the national financial system and the inconsistent findings of previous studies regarding the determinants of Third-Party Funds (DPK). This study aims to analyze the effect of Gross Domestic Product (GDP), inflation, the BI Rate, and the exchange rate on the amount of Third-Party Funds in Islamic Commercial Banks during the 2016–2024 period. The Covid-19 pandemic is also included as a dummy variable to capture changes in public saving behavior during the crisis period. This study employs a quantitative approach using quarterly time-series secondary data. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with the Newey-West estimator through Stata 17 to address autocorrelation problems. The results indicate that GDP, inflation, and the exchange rate have a positive and significant effect on Third-Party Funds, while the BI Rate has a negative and significant effect. Simultaneously, all variables significantly influence Third-Party Funds in Islamic Commercial Banks. These findings imply that macroeconomic stability plays an important role in strengthening fund collection in Islamic banking.

Abstract

Digital Islamic philanthropy should be assessed not only by transaction convenience, but also by allocation efficiency and the expansion of social benefits. This study evaluates the performance of Dompet Dhuafa's Tebar Hewan Kurban program using a quantitative, non-experimental secondary-data design. The data comprise audited financial statements for 2023-2024 and official program outcomes for 2023, 2025, and 2026. The analysis applies allocation ratios, growth rates, compound annual growth rates (CAGR), and outreach productivity. Qurban-fund income increased by 1.84% in 2024, while the distribution share rose from 84.45% to 85.36%. The support-cost ratio declined from 8.23% to 7.31%. Sheep/goat-equivalent animals increased from 27,419 in 2023 to 40,204 in 2026, with a CAGR of 13.61%; beneficiaries increased from 1,777,080 to 2,504,478, with a CAGR of 12.12%. Outreach productivity recovered from 55.47 to 62.29 beneficiaries per animal equivalent in 2025-2026. The findings associate digital development with greater scale, efficiency, and social reach. However, inconsistencies across publications highlight the need for standardized, auditable, and maqasid-oriented reporting.
