Abstract

This research is motivated by allegations of life goals that also contribute to happiness. Non-competitive life goals—such as family goals, altruism, and religiosity—are thought to have a constructive influence on happiness, and competitive goals are detrimental. Using data from IFLS 5 and Muslims as subjects, this study aims to examine the suitability of previous research in the context of Muslims in Indonesia. The study utilized a quantitative descriptive approach with a binary logistic regression estimation model. The results revealed: (i) success goals measured by employment status had a negative and significant influence only on a sample of women; (ii) family goals have a positive and significant influence on Muslim happiness; (iii) altruism has a positive but insignificant influence on Muslim happiness; and (iv) religiosity has a positive and significant influence on Muslim happiness. These results could provide guidance for individual Muslims to discover the factors that increase their happiness, which ultimately contribute to economic development.

Abstract

Covid-19 has made poverty in Indonesia increase again. The main source of household income wages, has decreased and unemployment has increased. The minimum wage policy was established to increase workers’ per capita wages. While economic growth has decreased, Zakat, Infaq, Sadaqah (ZIS) funds have consistently increased. Income distribution according to conventional and Islamic economics has an important role in reducing poverty. Researchers see that the variables of minimum wages, unemployment, and ZIS in previous studies still have inconsistent results and previous studies have not combined the three variables together. So, this study aims to determine the effect of minimum wage, unemployment, and ZIS on poverty in West Java. This study uses a quantitative approach with multiple linear regression analysis. The results prove that minimum wage and unemployment have a significant effect on poverty, while ZIS has no significant effect on poverty.

Abstract

This article investigates the influence of the CAR, TPF, NPF, return on assets (ROA), and BI Rate on financing at Bank Panin Dubai Syariah. Internal quantitative data used in this study were obtained from quarterly financial reports in the period of 2014 - 2022, while external data were obtained from BPS reports. The analysis method used was the Error Correction Model (ECM). In the long run, TPF and ROA variables have a positive influence on financing in Panin Dubai Syariah, while NPF and BI Rate variables have a negative influence. CAR variable does not have a long-term influence on financing in Panin Dubai Syariah. In the short term, only the ROA variable has a positive influence on financing in Panin Dubai Syariah. These four variables do not have a short-term influence on financing in Panin Dubai Syariah. The results of the study indicate that the performance of Panin Dubai Syariah as an intermediary institution in channeling financing to the public is stable in the long run, but in the short term, the bank experiences instability in the development of financing.

Abstract

The market has a role as a place to mingle and carry out buying and selling transactions for various products for all levels of society. The increasingly rapid economy currently requires various parties to improve their performance and business in order to be able to compete with other parties, including business owners trading in traditional markets. The 17 August Market in Pamekasan Regency is one of the largest traditional markets in Pamekasan Regency, which is located in East Java Province with the highest level of market development in Indonesia. Increasing demands encourage traders to use transaction methods that are less in accordance with Islamic law. For example, neglecting prayers, committing fraud such as reducing scales, unclear expiration dates for goods sold, traders being unfriendly to buyers, and treating buyers differently. So in this research an analysis was carried out of the influence of the variables Tauhid (X1), Balance (X2), Balance (X3), Responsibility (X4), and Ihsan (X5) on Trader Behavior (Y). Based on the calculation of multiple linear regression analysis, the five variables play a significant role in the Trader Behavior variable, with the Tauhid variable (X1) having the most dominant influence.

Abstract

This investigation examines the interconnection between certain macroeconomic variables, namely the general price level change rate (Inflation), BI Rate, and exchange rate fluctuations with financing allocation from Islamic banking for micro, small, and medium-scale business entities in the DKI Jakarta region during the period from 2016 to 2023. This research is motivated by the strategic role of DKI Jakarta as the national economic center with the highest GRDP contribution reaching 16.48% of the national GDP and having 337,429 MSME units that absorb 174,965 workers. The applied methodology is a quantitative approach with Multiple linear regression analysis using existing (secondary) monthly-based data from various sources, including BPS, OJK, and Bank Indonesia. This study found that inflation and exchange rates have a positive influence, while BI Rate has a negative influence on Islamic banking financing. The conclusion of this research is that Inflation, BI Rate, and Exchange Rate significantly affect the distribution of Islamic banking financing for MSMEs in DKI Jakarta. This research provides policy recommendations to support MSMEs and guidance for Islamic banking in developing appropriate products. These findings are expected to serve as a reference for academics, policymakers, and MSME actors in responding to economic dynamics and optimizing the role of Islamic principle-based banking in DKI Jakarta.

Abstract

The Muslim fashion industry is undergoing rapid growth and diversification worldwide, including in Indonesia, where the majority of the population adheres to Islamic principles in terms of personal appearance. The pervasive access to information regarding lifestyles and prevailing trends has led to a societal phenomenon in which millennials feel compelled to emulate the behaviors and lifestyles espoused on social media platforms in order to gain acceptance within their social circles. This perspective stands in contrast to the established principles of Islamic consumption. The role of religiosity in shaping individual preferences and perceptions of brand personality during the consumption process merits further investigation. In the context of purchasing decisions, consumers may experience uncertainty regarding their own preferences or be susceptible to the influence of groups or individuals they believe within the relevant field. The present study employs a quantitative research approach, using an explanatory method. The data analysis method employed in this study utilizes multivariate testing techniques in conjunction with the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) movement towards Partial Least Square (PLS). The objective of this research is to examine and understand the factors that influence consumer purchasing decisions. It is imperative to acknowledge that consumers possess distinct needs, preferences, and satisfaction levels.

Abstract

The growth in the amount of zakat, infaq and sedekah (ZIS) fund collection has always increased every year, such as in 2010-2017, followed by the growth in ZIS fund distribution. Fund distribution can be either consumptive or productive. One form of fund distribution in the form of productive zakat can be distributed to batik craftsmen. There are two groups of batik craftsmen in Sumurgung Village, namely craftsmen who receive assistance and those who do not receive assistance. This study aims to analyze the differences in production costs, product quantity, and business income of two groups of batik craftsmen. The sample of this study was a group of batik craftsmen who received assistance using the full sampling method and those who did not receive assistance using the convenience sampling method. Data collection was carried out by distributing open questionnaires and interviews through observation to Sumurgung Village. The statistical method used is descriptive analysis and conducting a difference test with an independent sample t-test. The results of the study showed that there were significant differences in the variables of production costs, product quantity and business income between batik craftsmen who received assistance and batik craftsmen who did not receive assistance. Based on the results of the independent sample t-test of several variables that have been tested, batik craftsmen who did not receive assistance had higher scores compared to batik craftsmen who received assistance. The difference occurs because there are differences in production techniques between the two groups, thus having implications for differences in values in each variable tested.
