Abstract

Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI) is a common disease that occurs in children under five. Indeveloping countries, the probability of the disease within an age group of toddlers estimated 29%cases per child/year and in developed countries 5% cases per child / year. It shows that there are 156million new cases per year in the world in which 151 million cases (96.7%) occur in developingcountries. Episode cold on Toddlers in Indonesia estimated 2-3 times per year (Rudan et al BulletinWHO 2008). This study aims to determine the correlation between the comprehensiveness of basicimmunization and other factors in terms of ARI on toddler in Cipejeuh Wetan – Cirebon withinJanuary to October 2016. The factors that are examined include comprehensiveness of basicimmunization, exclusive breastfeeding, nutrition, smoking behavior in the home. The design study iscross-sectional. Sampling technique is cluster random sampling with the primary data source in 62children under five years using questionnaire. The analysis is Chi-square. The statistical test showeda significant correlation between ARI against nutrition (p=0.015), smoking behavior in the home(p=0.009).

Abstract

Scoliosis is a deformity abnormality in the spine with the occurrence of deviation of bone segments tothe lateral side with or without accompanied by rotation of the bone that causes the spinal arch.Postural scoliosis is a condition where the curvature of the spine that arises can return to its originalform or is reversible, this often arises because of an incorrect position due to one's habit of activity. In daily life, there are many problems faced by people who are active by using their left hand, especially in adjusting to non-left-handed equipment, such as those with lecture chairs withconnecting tables on the right side which are still very rare or even non-existent on each campus. Theperson who writes using the left hand will make a bad position, the body will bend and slightly rotateto the right to get the elbow so that it can write. With experimental research with one-shoot case studymethod and purposive sampling approach in the active students of the Ukrida Faculty of Medicine in2019 with scoliometer apps pro measurement and The Adam's Forward Bend Test method, it wasfound that writing using the left hand on a lecture chair connected to the table on the right side cansignificantly influence postural scoliosis in the form of an increase in the value of the scoliometer (p= 0,003). This habit will continue to lead to an increase in the degree of curvature of the spine orscoliosis.

Abstract

Anaemia is a clinical condition in which the erythrocyte level is below the normal value, causing oxygen insufficiency in body tissues. The purpose of this study was to determine the risk factors and the overview that affects the degree of anaemia in children aged 6 to 24 months in Tarakan Hospital. A cross-sectional design was used by analysing data from medical records retrospectively in the period January 2017-June 2018 and conducted interview sessions with parents or caregivers of patients using sample of 66 patients. The data evaluated included haemoglobin (Hb) levels, nutritional status, gestational age, consumption of type of milk for the first 6 months, and complementary feeding according to age using Kolmogorov Smirnov test. The highest prevalence of anaemia severity in Tarakan Hospital at the stated period was moderate anaemia of 47 people (71.2%). Distribution of severe anaemia incidence was 8 people (12.1%) and mild anaemia was 11 people (16.7%). Based on the test results, the obtained p value of risk factors for gestational age (0.759), nutritional status (0.999), consumption of the type of milk for the first 6 months (1,000) and complementary feeding according to age (1,000) where all p values> 0.05, that indicates no correlation statistically. The results of this study showed no correlation between risk factors and severity of anaemia statistically in children aged 6 months to 24 months in Tarakan Hospital.
