Abstract

Abstract : Thalassemia is a genetic disorder inherited as autosomal recessive. There is an imbalance Between the number of goblin chains α and b globin chains, so that there is an unpaired globin chains. Precipitation of unpaired globin chains in the membrane can lead to autooxidation the membrane so that it Can cause the cell membranes become rigid. Stability of red blood cell is very influenced by protein sitoskeleton function. Others the stability of red blood cells is also greatly influence by the band 3 protein, an integral transmembrane protein of red blood cells. Band 3 protein abnormalities may influence its function both as an ion exchange membrane  and in maintaining the stability of red blood cells. Abnormal band 3 protein found in ovalositosis, a blood di sorder caused by the loss of nine amino acids of protein band 3 due to a deletion of codons 400-408 in exon 11 band 3 protein gene. The loss of nine amino acids in the protein band 3 ovalositosis causes red blood cell membranes become rigid, thus reducing the membrane deformability. The existence of rigidity accompanied by a decreased ability of red blood cell membrane deformability thalassemia-like red blood cell membrane ovalositosis, raises the idea that the destruction of red blood cell membrane protein also thalassemia is caused by abnormalities band 3 protein-coding genes. This study aims to identify any abnormalities of band 3 protein gene in patients with thalassemia. Genomic DNA obtained from blood of healthy individuals and patients with thalassemia. Genes will be examined later propagated by PCR and visualization techniques using 2% agarose gel electrophoresis. PCR results of band 3 protein gene in healthy individuals (normal) size of 175 ± 25 bp, whereas in patients with thallasemia found two PCR product size 175 bp and 110 ± 25 ± 15 bp. Presence of PCR product size 110 ± 15 bp showed a protein  band 3 gene defects in patients with thalassemia in the form of gene deletion by 65 ± 10 bp. Genetic disorder of protein band 3 in thalassemia is not the same as genetic abnormalities in ovalositosis.Key words : thalassemia, protein band 3 gene, genetic disorders.

Abstract

AbstrakLatar belakang: Gamgguan akibat kekurangan Yodium (GAKY).

Abstract

AbstrackHepatitis delta virus (HDV) was isolated from liver biopsy of a person with chronic HBs Ag. HBV virions and virions with delta antigen are pathogenic and very infectious. HDV is considered as a subviral satellite because of their distribution in hepatocyte cells only in the presence of HBV. Deltavirus is an incomplete RNA virus (defevtive virus), because HDV can not cause infection, for the occurrence of an HDV infection of HBV infection should occur before or at the time together. HDV genome is a circular singel-stranded RNA of negative polarity, consisting of 1700 nucleotides and did not reveal any homology with HBV genome. Spherical-shaped virion particle size 36 nm is a component of the outer, diencapsidasi by HBsAg (the envelope) and the inside of the nukeokapsid consists of 60 copies of genomic delta antigen (Dane particles). clinical manifestations of infection depends on the virulence of HBV HDV. On a carrier of HBV infection, who had superinfection, HDV does not depend on the manifestation of HBV. Modes of transmission similar to HBV, infection most often is the intravenous drug abusers. The prevalence of HDV is not always a picture of the prevalence of HBV. In Indonesia,73 reported hepatitis B carriers who donate blood anti-HDV positive 2.7%. Prevention of infection is the prevention of HBV infection, it also indirectly prevent the transmission of HDV. Precautions are taken with HBsAg vaccination.Key word : HDV, Defective virus, Dane particle

Abstract

Abstrackblood pressure is determined by cardiac output (cardiac output) and peripheral resistance. The relationship between inputs of calcium (Ca) with decreased blood pressure of essential hypertensive patients’ was first proposed b  addison in 1924. Ca is a mineral that is essential for the human body. Calcium helps in activating enzymes that stimulate many essential chemical reaction in the body also plays a role in blood coagulation. Ca can only be absorbed by the intestine about 35%, due to relatively low degree of solubility. Approximately 90% of the input Ca in the diet excreted in the feces each day. Parathyroid  hormone is released to maintain the concentration of Ca ions, will increase the influx of extracellular to intracelluler Ca ions, so that the intracellular Ca ion concentration is very high. The inputs of Ca hypertensive patients are lower than normal people. This means that the lack of input of Ca in the diet will lead to increased blood pressure.Key words : Calcium, hypertensive essential, parathyroid hormone.

Abstract

Abstrackhuman breast cancer incidence varied around the world, where the incidence in Asia is lower than western. Different types if mice in both parts of the world suggestive associated with the incidence of human breast cancer, in which M.domesticus the main carrier of virus more widely available in western. Mouse Mammary Tumor Virus (MMTV) is a type B retrovirus that causes breast cancer in mice. MMTV has a genome consisting of longterminal Repeat (LTR), Pol, Gag, Pro, and Env. MMTV has the ability to tumorigenesis by insertion mutagenesis and may affect genes that are close to the insertion. Transmission of this virus occurs through two channels, namely endogenous and exogenous. Endogenous pathways through the germline, while the exogenous pathway the milk. Several studies have shown the existence of sequence similarity in Env and MMTV LTR by human breast cancer, so that suspected a link between MMTV in human breast cancer. The presence of MMTV in the rate of progression of disease was also found in line, where the higher the degree of malignancy of a tumor also increased the number of MMTV sequences. However, until now we do not know how the MMTV can infect humans, so its role as a cause of human breast cancer is uncertain.Key words : MMTV, breast cancer

Abstract

AbstrackCancer lies dormant in all of us. Like all living organisms, our bodies are making defective cells all the time. That’s how tumours are born. But our bodies are also equipped with a number of mechanisms that detect and keep such cells in check. People whose immune system is particularly active seem to be protected against cancer cells. Micro-tumours also cannot change into dangerous cancers without creating a new network of blood vessels to feed them. Today many drugs similar to angiostatin are being developed by the pharmaceutical industry. But their effects on humans when used alone have turned out to be disappointing. As an alternative, there are natural approaches that have a powerful effect on angiogenesis, without side effects, including common edible mushrooms, certain green teas, spices and herbs. As a conclusion, proper diet, peaceful mind and exercise are approaches that reinforcing the body’s defence mechanisms to keep the cancer at bay.Key words : cancer cells, angiogenesis, natural approaches
