Abstract

This community service activity aims to introduce information technology to students in grades 1 to 3 at SD Madison School Mobuya. Through an interactive workshop approach, students were introduced to information technology tools and basic computer components. A total of 28 students participated in this activity, starting with a pretest to assess their initial understanding of technology. The pretest results showed that 80% of students were not familiar with technological tools and 90% were not familiar with the parts of a computer. After participating in the educational sessions, the posttest results revealed that all students had gained a solid understanding of information technology tools and basic computer components. This activity proves that early introduction to information technology can improve students' understanding of technology and equip them with basic skills needed to face the challenges of the digital world. It is hoped that this activity can be replicated in other schools to broaden the positive impact on the development of technology literacy among students.

Abstract

The history of a village plays a crucial role in preserving the heritage and identity of a region. Village history documentation not only serves as a record of valuable events but also strengthens the emotional bond within the community and inspires younger generations. Furthermore, village history can serve as a reference for village heads and local government officials in identifying both the potential and challenges faced by the village, enabling them to make more precise and wise decisions. The main issue found in Walewangko and Raranon Villages, Langowan Barat District, is the absence of comprehensive written historical records. Although the community has the desire to document their village history, limitations in historical writing methods and techniques hinder its realization. Previous efforts have been limited to simple chronological records, which do not provide a complete depiction of the village's history. This community service program is carried out through a historical writing training method. The training team equips participants with materials on historical research methods, techniques for finding historical sources, compiling chronicles, as well as structuring and effectively writing historical narratives. Through this initiative, the community is expected to produce more comprehensive historical documentation, either in the form of historical glimpses or a complete village history. The results of this program are also expected to be published in print and online media, offering broader benefits to the village community and future generations.

Abstract

The 2024 simultaneous elections relied on the Vote Recapitulation Information System (SIREKAP) to enhance transparency, but its implementation in North Sulawesi faced technical and non-technical challenges. This community service activity evaluated SIREKAP's implementation using the CIPP model (Context, Input, Process, Product) through in-depth interviews and FGDs with 30 election organizers. Key findings revealed three critical issues: (1) uneven internet infrastructure causing 40% of remote polling stations to fail in data uploads, (2) low digital literacy among 65% of polling officers (KPPS), and (3) only 85% accuracy of the OCR feature in reading C1 forms. Recommendations include simulation-based training, offline mode development, and open-source code audits. The study underscores the need for a holistic approach to digital election transformation, integrating technical, human resource, and infrastructure aspects

Abstract

In alignment with Indonesia’s people-centered economic framework under the 1945 Constitution, micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) contribute over sixty percent to the national gross domestic product. A significant share of this contribution is supported by women entrepreneurs, although they continue to face barriers in accessing entrepreneurial literacy, particularly in financial management. To address this issue, the Office of Cooperatives and MSMEs, in collaboration with Klabat University, implemented a community engagement program providing basic bookkeeping training for women entrepreneurs in Bitung City, North Sulawesi. The training design was informed by value chain theory, which identifies financial record-keeping as a vital supporting activity in value creation. A participatory learning approach was adopted, encouraging active discussion and culminating in an accounting practicum. Program effectiveness was assessed through pre- and post-training surveys, with data analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. A mean-difference test was applied to measure changes in participants’ competencies. The results show a significant increase in accounting knowledge following the intervention, indicating that the participants benefited from the training and demonstrated strong commitment to enhancing their entrepreneurial capacities. Abstract

Modern agriculture faces challenges in the form of dependence on chemical fertilizers and increasing organic waste that has not been optimally utilized. This activity aims to develop innovation in processing organic waste into liquid organic fertilizer (POC) as part of a sustainable agricultural system in Beong Village, Siau Tagulandang Biaro Islands Regency (SITARO). The implementation method used a Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) approach and the application of appropriate technology through training, manufacturing, and POC application tests. The main ingredients consisted of chicken manure, nutmeg leaves, and vegetable waste fermented using EM4 bioactivator for 24 days in two fermentation stages, namely anaerobic and aerobic. The analysis showed that the POC contained 1.14% N, 0.01% P, 0.38% K, pH 6.8, and a C/N ratio of 14.5 in accordance with SNI 19-7030-2004. The application of POC increased the growth of mustard plants by 35% and tomatoes by 32%, and reduced the use of chemical fertilizers by 55%. This innovation reduced the volume of organic waste by 60% and increased farmer group productivity by 70%. The novelty of this activity lies in the integration of local agricultural waste management into economically valuable liquid fertilizer that supports circular economy and low-emission agriculture.
