Abstract

Sick Building Syndrome is a health symptom that is related to how long room occupants spent their time doing activities in a room. Several sick building syndrome symptoms were found among students of State Senior High School 3 of Surakarta like headache and sleepiness. The aim of this study was to analyze the relationship between the temperature, air humidity and light intensity of the classrooms with sick building syndrome symptoms on the students. The population were the students of grade XI and XII with the total of 840 students and the sample of 90 students taken using the random cluster sampling method. The measuring devices used were room thermometer, hygrometer, lux meter and SBS questionnaire. Termometer to measure temperature, a hygrometer to detect humidity, a luxmeter to measure illumination, and an SBS questionnaire to assess SBS symptoms. Rank Spearman correlation test was used to measure the correlation between room temperature, air humidity and light intensity with sick building syndrome symptoms found on students. The result of correlation test between room temperature with sick building syndrome showed a significant correlation with p value = 0,004 and r value = 0,402. The result of correlation test between air humidity with sick building syndrome showed a significant correlation with p value = 0,003 and r value = 0,440. The result of correlation test between light intensity with sick building syndrome showed a significant correlation with p value = 0,001 and r value = -0,683. This study concluded that there was a significant correlation between room temperature, air humidity, and light intensity with with sick building syndrome symptoms on the students of Senior High School State of 3 Surakarta.

Abstract

Shrimp paste (terasi) is a traditional product made from fermented rebon shrimp or small fish with addedsalt, characterized by its unique aroma and flavor. Fermentation is breaking down complex compoundsin food into simpler ones, resulting in a product with a distinctive aroma and taste. The objective of thisstudy was to determine the better sensory and chemical properties of shrimp paste made from rebonshrimp and anchovies. This research employed a completely randomized design (CRD) method withtwo treatments: (F1; rebon shrimp and F2; anchovies), each weighing 250 grams. The observedparameters included color, aroma, taste, texture, and pH of the shrimp paste. The processing of shrimppaste involved grinding, drying, and fermenting for seven days. Sensory analysis results showed thatrebon shrimp paste (F1) was preferred, with sensory scores above 4, and exhibited bright red color, distinctive aroma, and savory taste. In contrast, anchovy shrimp paste (F2) was less preferred, withsensory scores below 4, and had a faded black color. The pH of both shrimp pastes was acidic, belowneutral pH (pH=7), due to lactic acid bacteria degrading compounds in the shrimp paste duringfermentation. The added salt contributed to extending the shelf life and enhancing the value of fisheryproducts.

Abstract

The problems experienced by Trans Marga Central Java employees are mostly in sitting positions while working and being in the same position for a long time while working. Most employees stated that their current sitting position is uncomfortable, and can make employees experience fatigue at work. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between sitting posture and the workload of PT Trans Marga Central Java employees. This study used a quantitative correlational approach. This study was conducted at the Trans Marga Central Java Office on Pedalangan Street, Banyumanik, Semarang City. The sampling technique used in this study was the total sampling technique, so the number of samples in this study was 73 employees. Data analysis was carried out using bivariate correlation analysis using Spearman correlation. A total of 54 respondents (74%) of Trans Marga Central Java Office employees had a fairly good sitting posture while the remaining 19 respondents (26%) had a good sitting posture. The level of workload of Trans Marga Central Java Office employees was highest in the category of workload that did not cause fatigue, namely 51 respondents (69.9%), while in the category of repairs needed but not urgent there were 22 respondents (30.1%). The significance value of the relationship between sitting posture and workload is 0.035 <0.05 and with a correlation coefficient of -0.247 indicating a significant negative relationship between sitting posture and workload of employees of the Central Java Trans Marga Office.

Abstract

Hard candy is a type of candy that has a hard texture made from sucrose and glucose. In general, candy is consumed only as a snack. The aim of research by adding betel leaves and suji leaves to products is to provide health benefits, namely antioxidants. This research contains the hard candy production process by substituting betel leaves and suji leaves with quality ingredients including powdered betel leaves, powdered suji leaves, fructose sugar, stevia sugar and salt. The stages of the production process include preparing tools and materials, weighing the ingredients, making a solution of betel leaves and suji leaves, mixing the ingredients, heating, printing, cooling and packaging. This research used a Randomized Group Design (RAK) with one factor. This factor is the concentration ratio of lalijiwa mango fruit with added stevia sugar which consists of 3 levels (1%:7%), (2%:6%), (3%:5%). It was found that F1 was the best formula according to 33 panelists. The panelists' liking level for the best product formula based on color was 3.97, aroma was 3.33, taste was 3.75, texture was 3.39 and overall was 3.69. The content contained in betel leaf hard candy and F1 suji leaves is a water content of 3.1%; ash content of 0.31%; reducing sugar of 83.55% and antioxidants of 18.06%.

Abstract

A recent analysis of the 2019 Global Burden of Disease (GBD) data shows that approximately 1.71billion people worldwide are living with musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). Office work has the potential to cause musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs), as office work is characterized by monotonous and repetitive movements for long periods of time and work with static postures. The urgency of thisstudy is to obtain an overview of the relationship between workstation design and work posture with complaints of musculoskeletal disorders. This research method is analytical observational research with cross-sectional approach. This research was conducted in Karanganyar Public Service Mall in 2023. The study population was Karanganyar Public Service Mall workers with a total of 48 workers. The sampling technique was total population technique. Musculoskeletal complaints were measured using the Nordic Body Map questionnaire, while workstation design was measured using a measuring device and work posture was measured using the Rapid Upper Limb Assessment (RULA) method. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between work posture and musculoskeletal complaints with a pvalue = 0.037 and a correlation coefficient or r of 0.285
